great burgers. had the grilled cheeseburger, it's two pimento cheese sandwiches, that serve as your buns. then they add afriedegg, bacon in top of your patty. great atmosphere and the staff here is attentive and full of life.

flatire burgers are a flat fail. flatire burgers won't make you sick or give you the runs, but beyond that they're lousy burgers and lousier wait staff. why do they employ so many pre-teen kids. it's like a version of highscool musical in a sweatshop. the kids clearly don't want to be there. they seem like they're all suffering from ipod separation anxiety when you're stating your order. no wonder they can't get it right. the restaurant decor is over the top and the burgers don't deliver. i mean come on,friedfoods are one of the easier things to cook properly and flatire burgers managed to mess those up as well. hire a good fry cook ya turkeys. the salads are terrible and are made with very cheap ingredients. i got the sense that the pre-teens in back were having a good laugh. the burgers aren't well prepared and they sadly try to "spice" things up by adding grossly oversized toppings that don't work. adding large chunky cuts of avocado to a lousy burger doesn't make it better. the food they serve lacks skill in it's preparation and especially flavor. for all the hype the burgers are equivalent to red robin's or fuddruckers. that means i haven't been back since.

good burgers, goodfriedpickles. great place if you want something other than a chain restaurant. reminded me of a burger place i went to when i was in college. parking is not great, but a good place overall.

hungry sunday fix!. we were traveling through and found flatire burger by accident....apparently, there aren't many places in the greater okc arrea to eat at on a sunday, after 6 pm, that serve beer, and that have local flavor and off- the- interstate charm.
thanks to urbanspoon, found it we did, and what a happy surprise. funky, fun ambiance, great service and yowsa....the food!!! we ordered way too much, of course, but the cheddar bacon fries were an outstanding mix of smoky, cheesey crispyness; thefriedpickles interestingly zippy with a great crunch; the beer good n cold (3.2? statewide? who knew?)...and the burgers!!!!...
my dad got the three way...chili, grilled onions and a roasted anaheim chili with pepper jack on a jalapeño bun. hot fun!!! my fella got the #11... a green chili topped beauty with pepper jack and a house made chipotle mayo. i got the flatire blowout....half pound burger (med rare, by request) topped with thick cut bacon, afriedegg, cheddar cheese, homemade burger sauce, the fixings ( i opted for grilled onions over raw, which were sweet and zingy and perfect with the lettuce and tomato) and some of the best sweet potato fries i can recall. my boys each got a bacon cheeseburger, and whole i didn't sample them, the looked ( and were handily consumed) to be just right.
loved the experience at flatire....the bathroom, even, was the right mix of funky and fun. david, our server, was oh so helpful ( amd lemme tell you, it is so nice to be taken care of by a local who actually eats the food, knows the area, and does a good job, happily!) and we will go back to flatire burger our next visit to the okc area!!!

great food!. their chili burger is great, and the sweet potato fries are awesome! the fish tacos with schriacha sauce are pretty good, too. my cousin moved up to okc a few weeks ago and wanted a good burger. i took her to flatire and she loved it, especially thefriedpickles.

mmmm good. we finally stopped by....it was a friday at lunch and it was busy, but they have ample staff and were very effecient. very short wait for table turn over. great atmosphere. bicycles hanging, several tv's. i tried the "famous fish tacos". a basket w/ 3 tacos. each had a large piece offriedtilapia, coleslaw and a line of shirachi sauce. you could pick your side, so i chose to try the fries, but they also had black beans, and sweet potatoe fries. it was very good. the shirachi adds a nice flavor and spice. not too much heat. the fries were good, and i requested a side of the gravy for dipping....nice pepper gravy. the spouse tried the chicken tenders. they had a nice coating on them, but definitely needed some flavor- either in a marinade or at least some salt/pepper. but gravy was nice for dipping. we will defintely be going back to try the burgers, and our daughter is dying to go try the smores.....apparently you cook the marshmellows right at your table. give it a try.....nice location by campus.

good...not exceptional though.. in comparison to other burger joints, red robin (yum). your dollar would stretch further for quality and quantity and best spent at a red robin. more fluff than whats necessary on the outside. concentration on the servers and their attention to detail on the inside would be nice. seat yourself when you enter. flat tire was good but too little in comparison for the price we paid. we paid $60 for three kids and 2 adults and 2 entrees. the entree' were thefriedpickles which were very good and the loaded cheese fries which where good too but very small for a family of 5. served on an 8" diameter bowl on an aluminum sheet. alot of the cheese stuck to the aluminum and would tear. .no plates (the kitchen was still washing them). the kids had chicken fingers and a cheese burger. the wife and i had the jalepeno burgers which were good with the sautee'd onions but only fit in the palm of my hand. this occured this past saturday around 6 in the evening. sorry flat tire we were left somewhat deflated.

chili-cheese fries!!!. burger: had the blowout...with thefriedegg...it was "ok"...i've had burgers with eggs on them (see my review of republic gastro pub). this one was nothing special; the didn't help nor did it hurt. it was "just a buger". i've had better and i have had much worse.

fries: now for the actual reason i will go back...the chili-cheese fries were wonderful. chili + cheese + green + onions + peppers + ranch dressing + the fries themselves = amazing (ok, so i was joined by a math teacher, she just rubbed off on me)

if you go to flat tire expecting the best burger of your life you will be let down, but the burger is far from bad. but if you go for the chili-cheese fries, you're life will be enriched!

only good if you are trapped in the 'burbs. i went here and was very disappointed. the food was subpar. thefriedpickles were so-so, i'd expect the same quality from sonic, and the burger i had was just 'meh'. it was far below the standard set by irma's, and i had a better burger three days later at barry's on 30th/may. the decor was annoying as well.

all in all, if you live in edmond in a ticky-tacky box, drive an suv, and eat crappy food all day long because you don't know any better, i can understand that you might like this place. i'm around 16th/classen, i found the 30 minute drive not at all worth it, and i would recommend irma's, barry's, nic's, even bunny's over this place. avoid.

"flattire blowout" burger had afriedegg on it ... and i ate it.. last friday, i split a "flattire blowout" burger and fries with a friend. it had afriedegg on it!

now, i would not recommend making a lunch like this a habit, but by splitting it i felt a little better about the whole caloric intake thing.

great veggie burgers but used to be better. i agree with a previous review that flat tire used to be better. i always order the veggie burger, which is the best i've found so far. get itfriednot grilled no matter what your server tells you. i also agree with previous reviews regarding the service and the cold fries. last time i ate there, i had to send my fries back. service has been hit or miss for me. sometimes i get good service but a unfriendly server and vise versa. i've taken many friends to flat tire and they all love it, however i do find myself hoping i won't get crappy service or a crumbly burger. i'll continue to eat here.
