packed for a reason!. i had an itch for a burger, but didn't want to drive out to the mall and go to red robin, so my girlfriend and i went to flatire. it was busy, but the manager got us a table. the server was there quickly, and within a few minutes we had beers and placed our order. she got the fish tacos, and i had the hell's kitchen burger (lots of fresh jalapenos), and it scratched my itch! juicy burger for me, and the lady loved the tacos with fresh guac! we tried to sit outside, but the server told us it was full with a private party. next time i want a burger and a beer (or a couple beers) i'm going to hit their upper deck patio and spend the evening. i'll bebackbefore we have one of those 1000 degree oklahoma summers. if it's right next to uco, can i see the 4th of july fireworks from there? at red robin i have to sit inside and look at the menu for entertainment. and going to the movies afterword cost more than dinner! even if it's in the middle of edmond, it's worth the drive.

nope, not good.. when i had the lime grilled fish tacos here a few weeks ago i started craving them again. sad to say our family went there today and the corn tortillas the fish tacos were served in was swimming in grease. i showed the waitress and asked her to take them off the bill as i sent thembackwith her. she even had a look of disgust at them when i showed them to her. i saw her show the greasy things to the manager.

when we got our bill we had to remind her they should have been taken off. she said the mgr was supposed to have taken care of that. they did comp them but i shouldn't have had to mention anything.

also the kids burgers were extremely salty. both the kids burgers and their regular burger were served dry, without any condiment. the meat had a texture of preformed, frozen and thawed, cheap quality. again, way to salty especially for children or anyone really.

sodas with the kids meals were an extra $2.49 ea. many places include a drink with a kids meal that price seemed high for 4 yr old kids add on bev.

on a positive note the borracha beans as a side was delicious. they had good quality ham in them. they were good enough to gobackfor if we had of had some other quality main dish to go with it but for a $45 bill (after the comp) that was a waste of money i don't think we can venture back.

fair. i have never eaten here before today, so i didn't really know what to expect. i placed a to-go order and paid for it. the waitress who took my money kept the change then disappeared. strike one! another waitress delivered my order and when i opened it they had gotten it wrong. strike two. i was alreadybackat the office so it wasn't worth my time goingbackto get my order corrected.

flatire burgers are a flat fail. flatire burgers won't make you sick or give you the runs, but beyond that they're lousy burgers and lousier wait staff. why do they employ so many pre-teen kids. it's like a version of highscool musical in a sweatshop. the kids clearly don't want to be there. they seem like they're all suffering from ipod separation anxiety when you're stating your order. no wonder they can't get it right. the restaurant decor is over the top and the burgers don't deliver. i mean come on, fried foods are one of the easier things to cook properly and flatire burgers managed to mess those up as well. hire a good fry cook ya turkeys. the salads are terrible and are made with very cheap ingredients. i got the sense that the pre-teens inbackwere having a good laugh. the burgers aren't well prepared and they sadly try to "spice" things up by adding grossly oversized toppings that don't work. adding large chunky cuts of avocado to a lousy burger doesn't make it better. the food they serve lacks skill in it's preparation and especially flavor. for all the hype the burgers are equivalent to red robin's or fuddruckers. that means i haven't beenbacksince.

hungry sunday fix!. we were traveling through and found flatire burger by accident....apparently, there aren't many places in the greater okc arrea to eat at on a sunday, after 6 pm, that serve beer, and that have local flavor and off- the- interstate charm.
thanks to urbanspoon, found it we did, and what a happy surprise. funky, fun ambiance, great service and yowsa....the food!!! we ordered way too much, of course, but the cheddar bacon fries were an outstanding mix of smoky, cheesey crispyness; the fried pickles interestingly zippy with a great crunch; the beer good n cold (3.2? statewide? who knew?)...and the burgers!!!!...
my dad got the three way...chili, grilled onions and a roasted anaheim chili with pepper jack on a jalapeño bun. hot fun!!! my fella got the #11... a green chili topped beauty with pepper jack and a house made chipotle mayo. i got the flatire blowout....half pound burger (med rare, by request) topped with thick cut bacon, a fried egg, cheddar cheese, homemade burger sauce, the fixings ( i opted for grilled onions over raw, which were sweet and zingy and perfect with the lettuce and tomato) and some of the best sweet potato fries i can recall. my boys each got a bacon cheeseburger, and whole i didn't sample them, the looked ( and were handily consumed) to be just right.
loved the experience at flatire....the bathroom, even, was the right mix of funky and fun. david, our server, was oh so helpful ( amd lemme tell you, it is so nice to be taken care of by a local who actually eats the food, knows the area, and does a good job, happily!) and we will gobackto flatire burger our next visit to the okc area!!!

fun family idea. the food was delicious. we tried the smores for the experience.... nothing super special about them or their ingredients, so we probably wouldn't do it again with just the 2 of us, but it would be a fun experience to gobackwith the family - just for something fun you can't do at other restaurants...

meh.. after hearing about this place for a long time we decided to give it a shot. we both ordered burgers. they were okay. there wasn't anything special about them. we got fries and the homemade chips to share. the fries were not crispy or very warm. the homemade chips were very good. we both got chocolate dipped ice cream cones for dessert and that was the best part about the meal. we won't be goingbackagain. there are plenty of other places i can get burgers that i actually crave (earl's, the cow, etc.)

mmmm. yaaaay for flatire!
it was our first time to visit, and we thoroughly enjoyed it! the atmosphere is awesome, and the wait staff was pretty good! we were with a party so it took forever and a day to get our food, but it was worth the wait! i got the onion burger, and she had a cheeseburger. they were pretty good sized and tasted great! we also split a side of fries...they left a little to be desired. they weren't bad, just nothing different than fast food fries! what we were most pleased with was the price! pretty reasonable! we will be comingback:).

mmmm good. we finally stopped by....it was a friday at lunch and it was busy, but they have ample staff and were very effecient. very short wait for table turn over. great atmosphere. bicycles hanging, several tv's. i tried the "famous fish tacos". a basket w/ 3 tacos. each had a large piece of fried tilapia, coleslaw and a line of shirachi sauce. you could pick your side, so i chose to try the fries, but they also had black beans, and sweet potatoe fries. it was very good. the shirachi adds a nice flavor and spice. not too much heat. the fries were good, and i requested a side of the gravy for dipping....nice pepper gravy. the spouse tried the chicken tenders. they had a nice coating on them, but definitely needed some flavor- either in a marinade or at least some salt/pepper. but gravy was nice for dipping. we will defintely be goingbackto try the burgers, and our daughter is dying to go try the smores.....apparently you cook the marshmellows right at your table. give it a try.....nice location by campus.

why all the hype?.backwhen i was as student at uco, this was the place to be. i finally decided to meet my wife here one day after work. besides not being able to find parking, the visit started fine. service was ok, not great. food was ok, not great. the problem lies in the pricing. i think i paid well over $30 for the two of us. nothing special, just burgers and a split order of cheese fries. this place would be special if the prices were about 25% lower. as it is, i won't be back. not good enough to justify the cost.

liked it. we were four adults and a baby, got there at a perfect time to get the last large table. it was very cool inside and i like it that way. i had the tree hugger w/o cheese and with the turkey burger. all the veggies and crunchies were really yummy, but the meat needed some flavor, there was salt and pepper on the table. i had the toasted rye bread.. very nice. everyone finished their sandwiches. we had an order of onion rings that we shared and they were very nice,,crispy and not greasy. one thing, the waitress was very attentive andbackoften but when she heard us talk about going somewhere else for a dessert (later in the day) she actually rolled her eyes that we were not having it there. we laughed and she still got 20%
