lotsa fun, good food and kid friendly. and it is awesome to see therootbeer being made!

we enjoyed our visit. we were seated quickly but it took a while for anyone to come by and take our drink order. being from out of town this was a new experience. we had questions and the waitress kind of tried to rush us into decisions. therootbeer float and cherry bomb float my kids ordered were huge! i had the grilled portobello sandwich which was awesome. overall it was a great experience.

perfect family celebration for graduation. we had a great time at fitz's to celebrate our daughter's middle school graduation. even though the restaurant was busy, we got great service from our waiter vince and all of family enjoyed grill food and a variety of different floats using fitz'srootbeer. our daughter was all smiles when she was presented with a bottle of fitz'srootbeer with a happy graduation label.

this is a massive, industrial grade restaurant, almost like a front of a factory (which it is). they have tons of seating options and tons ofrootbeer floats. however i felt their burgers were excellent, even though that's not their specialty. i would recommend a visit any time you drop by the area.

they got 3 different seating areas - one outdoor garden-like area, one sports lounge where they have screens and one regular(family kind) sitting area.the burgers are pretty heavy. they are meaty but lack the taste. triedrootbeer for the first time in my life and realised it is terrible and why i never tried it before. the staff is courteous and service is prompt.

while in st. louis for a wedding we stopped by here on the morning after for an early lunch. i ordered the porgy & beef (bottler’s burger topped with our house smoked pulled pork, fitz’srootbeer bbq sauce and crispy onion straws served on a toasted sesame seed bun) my wife got the grilled portabella
(grilled marinated portabella mushrooms topped with provolone cheese and roasted red pepper strips served on a toasted sesame seed bun with a side of garlic aioli). we were both satisfied with what we got, but not blown away. not bad for lunch.

solid on drinks, over rated and over priced food. fitzs makes their own brand ofrootbeer and cream drinks so obviously they've perfected that along with using appealing frosted glass mugs. however, this is one of those restaurants that are over rated and over priced due to its location. there was a long wait to be seated. food can be comparable to a 24/7 diner that serves large portioned appetizers. therootbeer float was worth the upward price and experience to try from the original source but that's the only perk.

goodrootbeer, bland food. therootbeer is good and the atmosphere is certainly nice. service was very attentive and fast. however, the food outside of their fries is mediocre at best.

great place for food in delmar loop. found out bbq is smoked in house - y'all should really advertise that!! pulled pork was very tasty withrootbeer bbq sauce. had to getrootbeer float. it is huge! however, ice cream on top was quite sub par and ruined it for me. i would love to see fitzs go local for some things like serendipity ice cream (vanilla bean would have tasted great on the float!), and maybe even with their meats too since the place itself is so entrenched in stl culture. my buddy has one of the burgers and it was delicious with good smoky taste. great place to go with kids but without changes to floats, i'll just eat dessert elsewhere.

fitz's is known forrootbeer and they also have a lot more flavors of soda. for lunch i had the black and bleu burger. i asked for their bbq sauce on the side. this burger didn't make my socks go up and down, but it was okay. the presentation was good, the bun was flavorful and durable. toppings for the burger were very strong as far as the bleu cheese was concerned. i didn't taste any blackening seasoning and the onion rings with raw onions were strange. i couldn't taste any seasoning on the meat. despite no meat flavor it was very juicy. next time i'm in the area i'll walk across the street to blueberry hill. here are my ratings:

our family enjoys fitz's. we've been several times and have never had a bad meal. my favorite so far has been the fish tacos; i think they're the nest i've had yet. you can never go wrong with theirrootbeer float either!

therootbeer is fantastic. the food is good and decently priced. watching the bottling and mixing equipment mesmerizing. worth the stop.

therootbeer was the star of the meal though, without a doubt. in all the food was okay, but not excellent or outstanding. it was overpriced for the quality presented, meal came to $14.20 before tip. that’s not excessive, but i can certainly do better elsewhere, like at hodges’ chili mac, casa gallardo or maryland yards. fitz’s may indeed have standout dishes, i might just have missed them. let me know if there’s something they’ve got that’s good enough to motivate me to go there again.
