feeling sick from too much salt. many restaurants complain about customers leaving bad reviews after the meal instead of letting them know the issue so they can fix it. well, i tried telling your staff something is wrong but he dismissed it. so, this is why you're getting this review.

we came here for brunch once last year and really enjoyed it. so we went back today as we're in the area. i ordered the pine mushroom ($22) and added the suggested pancetta lardon ($4). the pancetta ended up ruining the dish because it was so salty. i tried eating it with the brioche and the mushroom and the egg, hoping it would tone the salt down. nope, the salt just overpowered everything. so, i put the pancetta on the side and ate the rest. when the server came to collect our plates, i told him that the pancetta was really salty. his answer was, pancetta is salty. i told him that it's really salty, like eating salt, so maybe he should let the kitchen staff know. he just became dismissive. i still feel sick from how salty the pancetta is.

a gem. really good food and great value for money, the only quibble was the push to order more wine.

staff here are great - breakfast and dinner menus are superb. love the shop front here, so relaxing dining here. beautiful array of baked goods - fruit toast was one of the best i've ever had!

this place has nice modern cuisine and is moderately priced. they have a variety of dishes that will appeal to a range of people's tastes. there are also some home made style cakes at the front. each day there are different pasta specials which are probably my favorite dishes to try. on a few occasions with the pasta, my friends and i found it quite salty, however the dish overall was still full of flavour. last time i had a pork sausage roll and there was a hair stuck on side of the roll when i received it. the roll had a better texture than other rolls. the salad was made with a variety of leaves and people who appreciate salad should fine it has lots of flavor.

the service staff are very good and they are proactive with the service. they do like to suggest those polenta chips. this is definitely one of the more popular places in their area you should try.

great experience. i have heard a lot of good things about paul jewson; so , i decided to go there and try his breakfast on monday. i'll break it down like this.
the food was fantastic. we had "thick cut bacon"and "smoked trout" dish, which were both delicious and well presented. coffee was good too. service was really attentive and friendly. and the atmosphere was something that can make you sit for hours.
all in all,the chef has done a great job. it was such a great experience. our group was impressed with everything. would we return? definitely but this time we'll try dinner menu. can't wait!

who knew that my first world problems would be so easily solved by two visits to fitzrovia? this is one restaurant that easily straddles the breakfast, lunch and dinner service.

ever since i heard about how great this place is from a workmate, i know that i have to check this place out. i came here on a saturday morning. if i remember correctly, we were there around 10am and oh boy was it busy. we had to wait for 15minutes for a table of two. word of advice, if you are planning to be seated fast i assume you should get there extra early especially on a weekend. coming in we were greeted and informed of the possible wait. i must admit that the staff were not as friendly as i have hoped for. i am not sure maybe because they were busy that they couldn't be bother or the culture is as such because they are a popular cafe. i had already checked out the menu prior to coming here so i already know what i want. i had creme brulee french toast with banana, whipped mascarpone, toasted pecans and grilled instra bacon with vanilla box grove verjus syrup and a cup of skinny latte. i have to say i was very pleased to know that there's a bacon with that pancake! that surely made my day. the coffee was also good. overall, food and coffee made it a good experience, unfortunately i can't say the same regarding the customer service. that means minus one brownie point.

staying close to this cafe, thought we'd try it out. waited 15 mins for 2 t/a coffees. no apology for the time it took. went back again with some friends for a coffee, i ordered a skinny flat white with an equal, my husband ordered a latte with an equal, friends ordered 2 hot chocs, a iced choc and a flat white no sugar. my coffee came out 1st but was a skinny latte; i told the waitress what i had ordered and she said, "don't worry, they all end up the same", and didn't even make me a new one. everyone else's orders were mucked up as well. it took about 4 attempts to get everyone's coffees right. again, no apologies from any of the 3 wait staff that bought our order out. wouldn't go back for a 3rd try at this place.
