fish tales

a great alternative to downtown savannah if you want to sit near the water and eat outside. beautiful view, particularly if you like boats. the staff was veryfriendlyand the shrimp and fish were very fresh and well prepared. my only complaint would be the prices. the portions are a bit smaller than their competitors for the same price. the gumbo, while good, was not great and very small for $7! i would recommend skipping that.

my bar experience. outside service was terrible, manager was notfriendlyand waits were long, sometimes i was curious if the staff was still on the clock. however, the service at the inside bar was exceptional. bar tender was very attractive (12 out of 10), full bar was managed well and did not ever feel like i was waiting on service. food was decent. tips would be better if the bartenders/waitresses weren't always bundled up like ralphy from the christmas story.

mostly unenjoyable. nice place. relaxed but not private.friendlystaff. but....after being seated, waited for a good awhile before our orders were taken. took way too long (about an hour) to get just decent food. prices are high, service is slow. probably won't patronize establishment again.

big thumbs up. my husband and i are in love with the smoked oysters. we have never gotten anything that disappointed. love the baby catfish, hushpuppies, grits and shrimp..i could go on and on.friendlystaff! great atmoshpere!

great find,friendlystaff. the restaurant:
while this restaurant is off the beaten path of the typical savannah seafood restaurants, making the trip to the great waterside dining location is worth the trip. the atmosphere reminds you of a margaritaville theme but food is atypical of a commercialized chain. they offer a fresh catch daily and provide excellent service.
the food:
i had the lump crab cake appetizer and the shrimp and grits, both of these were wonderful, i was a little weary of the shrimp and grits using small shrimp but they didn't disappoint. my wife had the grilled scallops and shrimp that tasted both fresh and flavorful. if you get the chance, try the onion strings as an appetizer or a something to go with your meal; they were outstanding, light, fluffy and delicious, best ever!
the staff:
the chef and owner showed personal attention to our party of three which made the whole experience more special. i am looking forward to going back our next trip to savannah.
