fish as fresh as if they caught them fishing from their dock!. started out with a dozen oysters on the half shell and all weregoodsize and uniform in size. served with cocktail sauce, lime, crackers and were well iced. after every one else was getting all grossed out by them, and seeing them eaten “raw”, it was on the main entree. had the “fish house broiled combo” with the shrimp, scallops, and mahi. the scallops were excellent as was the mahi, but ... the shrimp ... they were cooked in a wine and butter mix to make a sauce for them to broil. the first item i tried was th shrimp and after the first shrimp, i could have handed off the mahi and scallops and just had the shrimp. these were such great flavored shrimp, like i’ve never had before. i kid you not, these were just flat out, outstanding. there just weren’t enough of the shrimp to say i’d had enough or all i could eat.
the place, despite how busy they were was clean and well kempt. servers were verygoodand keep food moving to your table. sure, there was a little wait but only because the food had to be prepared. not like they were out catching it. everything is fresh cooked, not of a steam table or in a heat lamp area.
desserts lookedgoodbut were simple. after all the food that they put on your plate, you need that room where the dessert would have gone.
prices were right for the amount of food that they served you. if you plan to go to the fish house, plan to make a reservation no matter how many in your party. we were a party of 19 and had we not had a reservation, we would have been split up all over the restaurant.
the bonita beach location is open every day from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm.
