looking for a date place in marikina? want to impress someone? in the mood for wine and cheese? whatever it is, fino deli is the place to be. choose from their variety of cold cuts and cheeses, pastas and more. they have pretty good pizzas and entreés too. ive visited this place as a part of our zomatoxabscbn food crawl and just recently with my family. surprised though that food portions are not really good for sharing (found out after my second visit). it's definitely more for a tita's night out or an intimate date. do not bring your hungry brother unless you want to splurge and order 3 dishes for him alone to finish.
what we had: for the food crawl, we got to try their cold cuts and cheese platter 1 (consists of spanish manchego cheese, italian prosciutto, olives), cold cuts and cheese platter 2 (dutch aged gouda, italian salami, olives), italian manchego, spanish salchichon, truffle mushroom pasta and cinco queso (their take on 5-cheese pizza with creamy white sauce).
for our family dinner, we tried their ceasar salad, all-meat pizza, calamares, pan seared salmon with lemon-dill mousse, spaghetti and meatballs and again their truffle mushroom pasta.
amongst all the dishes that ive got to try at fino deli, i like their pizzas the best and their pan seared salmon with lemon-dill mousse. i love the smell of the truffle mushroom pasta but it needs a little dash of salt (or at least for me).
what's interesting though is that this place is the only wine bar serving wine from romania. i enjoyed my terase danubiene roze. castel starmina merlot was served too.
the place lies in the quiet neighborhood of marikina heights, and if not for waze, id probably get lost around here. but that's what makes it lovely right? a hidden gem, waiting to be discovered by many! next time i'll bring my girlfriends and try dining al fresco. sounds fun to me!!
