ambiance is cozy, nice and quiet;

food is sumptuous, so delicious. the preparation is deliberate and well-thought of. maybe one of the pricey restaus in marikina, but the price is worth the food quality and quantity. the best part is, primitivo, my favorite kind of wine, is available here! 😊

this is a late post review, this was last christmas 2019 (my fourth time). the place was jam-packed, we had to wait for almost 2 hours to be given a table. we ordered, salad, pastaand cheese plate. and i washed it down with there sweet sangria. it was worth it!

one of the best places to unwind after a long tiring day at the office. fino deli is definitely in my list of go-to places whenever i want to destress. it's also a great place to catch-up with family and friends.

what makes me keep on coming back to this place is the warmth of the people. really, really great service!

as for the food, the cinco queso pizza should be on the top of everyone's must-try list! theirpastanegra and salmon risotto is also great! and of course, all these paired with a glass of good ol' wine.

i'd definitely come back to try their other dishes!

fino deli is one of the few fine italian-spanish style restaurant offering imported wines in marikina heights within marikina city. the restaurant used to be a large residential house converted into a fine dining place about 20 months ago.

the restaurant is getting positive reviews and accolades from food and wine connoisseurs.

it had a large indoor dining area with a sitting capacity of between 70 to 80 people and a private room which have a sitting capacity of between 35 to 50 people at any given day . there is also a patio area which can sit about 20 people.

there is a glass enclosed wine cellar , where temperature is controlled at 19 degrees celsius so that the taste of each wine is preserved . the wines are imported from spain , romania , italy and other parts of the world .

castel starmina and terase danubiene are wines from romania, the restaurant is one of the exclusive philippine distributor of these wines . one interesting wine is made from roselle flowers ( relative of hibiscus / gumamela) this had a mild fruity taste. fino deli offers fine wines , imported cheeses , patas , cold cuts , sausages , pastries , pizza, pastain classy setting.

wines are best paired with dutch aged gouda and italian salami with olives (p 345), dutch goat cheese and spanish salami with olives (p 355), and dutch maasdam cheese and spanish salchichon with olives (p 365).

truffle mushroompasta(265) pastawith fresh wild mushrooms drizzled with truffle oil, topped with cheese and fresh basil leaves. thepastais also paired with garlic bread. this can be shared with 2 persons.

cinco queso pizza (p 499) this is a type of thin crust pizza topped with creamy white sauce and five kinds of cheeses. the five cheeses are mozzarella, cheddar, parmesan, blue cheese and cream cheese. the taste of 5 cheeses are infused when the pizza is baked .

great place to chill and unwind. :)

for our 2nd visit, my husband and i ordered cold cuts and cheese platter no. 1, rib eye steak, truffle mushroompastaand a bottle of 7 miles merlot classic. we were not familiar with wines, so we asked a fino deli staff to help us choose a red wine that's on the sweet side. she recommended 7 miles merlot (p955) since it was specially blended to suit asian taste. true enough, we loved that wine -- so much so that we finished 1 bottle in less than 2 hours. it was a bit sweet, tasted better when cold, and most importantly, it went well with our other orders.

as to our food, i think we got more than we paid for, especially considering the quality and serving size. for one, their rib eye steak (p899) was huge, tender, juicy and flavorful. it was cooked just the way my husband wanted it (i.e. medium) and he finished this on his own with a big smile on his face. also, their truffle mushroompasta(p280) was rich and aromatic with generous pieces of mushrooms. i usually share half of my food with my husband. but this time, i only gave him a few forkfuls. (he only gave me a tiny slice of his steak anyway. haha!) that was how much i liked it.

if there's anything that needs improvement, fino deli should add more desserts to their menu. although we were satisfied with their creme brulee (p99) and pana cotta with dark chocolate (p99), it might be better if fino deli offers desserts like gelato, cakes and sweet breads. (i'm not sure if they plan to permanently add this to their menu, but fino deli offered cinnamon rolls to us for take out at a discounted price of p15 per piece. it was reaaaaaally good. it was (not overly) sweet, chewy and perfectly paired with coffee. if anyone else gets a chance to buy this, i strongly suggest that you get the whole batch. you won't be disappointed.)

overall, we were very happy with our dining experience at fino deli. this is another gem in marikina, and we will keep on visiting it.

i celebrated my birthday dinner here together with my fambam and hawie.

the ambiance is really high-end and such a great place for mature talks. they also have friendly & approachable waiters.

we ordered the ff:
1) pan-seared salmon w/ lemon dill mousse (p 410)-
we got 2 orders of this one and it has a cool plating with alfalfa on top. it is served with spanish rice.
2) chicken marsala (p 395)- we also got 2 orders of this. it has olives, mushroom, mashed potato and carrots as side dish. chicken is tender and juicy.
3) truffle mushroompasta(p 275)- i super love my order! from its aroma to its al dente noodles..perfecto!
4) calamares (p 199)- small slices of squid in batter fried to perfection combined with its mayo garlic dip,oh heaven!
5) cinco queso (p 500)- best 5-cheese pizza i've tasted so far! lovin the thin crust and of course the 5 different cheeses! well, the bleu cheese is prominent haha

they have big servings so we werent able to finish everything and took the extra home 😋

my mom coordinated with the management and they surprised me with a warm birthday greeting in a form of song and a super yummy créme bruleé!!!

*creme brulee- crunchy and torched on top but underneath is soft and fluffy pudding. it isnt too sweet!! it's a good thing because pantanggal "umay" 😍

will definitely come back!!! we just need to have extra budget for another classy dinner date like this one ☺

the cinco quezo pizza is a full-bodied fare that's surely more cheese than dough. one couldn't ask for more. this was enjoyed freshly-done at the resto and the day after at home. the truffle mushroompastapales in comparison when it comes to flavor - nothing that can't be resolved with a liberal seasoning of salt, pepper, and herbs. coffee is not memorable, sadly. what a plus it would be for customers to know that they can get great quality coffee in this gem of a place, even if it's a deli and not a cafe. the complimentary bread was delicately good and i had seconds of it.

the interiors are on point. i appreciate the layout and lighting choices that made for a warm and elegant deli-resto experience. details including table design and room decors seem well-thought-out. plants outside were non-obtrusive and served as the backdrop to fino deli's minimal outdoor seating. there was ample parking. the location lent a peaceful vibe to the restaurant.

the staff carried themselves professionally. nothing much was expected of their service but i was delightfully impressed with their decorum.

future visits are warranted. steak, cold cuts, cheese, wine, and other things are in order.

looking for a date place in marikina? want to impress someone? in the mood for wine and cheese? whatever it is, fino deli is the place to be. choose from their variety of cold cuts and cheeses, pastas and more. they have pretty good pizzas and entreés too. ive visited this place as a part of our zomatoxabscbn food crawl and just recently with my family. surprised though that food portions are not really good for sharing (found out after my second visit). it's definitely more for a tita's night out or an intimate date. do not bring your hungry brother unless you want to splurge and order 3 dishes for him alone to finish.

what we had: for the food crawl, we got to try their cold cuts and cheese platter 1 (consists of spanish manchego cheese, italian prosciutto, olives), cold cuts and cheese platter 2 (dutch aged gouda, italian salami, olives), italian manchego, spanish salchichon, truffle mushroompastaand cinco queso (their take on 5-cheese pizza with creamy white sauce).

for our family dinner, we tried their ceasar salad, all-meat pizza, calamares, pan seared salmon with lemon-dill mousse, spaghetti and meatballs and again their truffle mushroom pasta.

amongst all the dishes that ive got to try at fino deli, i like their pizzas the best and their pan seared salmon with lemon-dill mousse. i love the smell of the truffle mushroompastabut it needs a little dash of salt (or at least for me).

what's interesting though is that this place is the only wine bar serving wine from romania. i enjoyed my terase danubiene roze. castel starmina merlot was served too.

the place lies in the quiet neighborhood of marikina heights, and if not for waze, id probably get lost around here. but that's what makes it lovely right? a hidden gem, waiting to be discovered by many! next time i'll bring my girlfriends and try dining al fresco. sounds fun to me!!

fino deli is the new kid in town and definitely a "must see"! this tapas/wine and cheese bar is fancy but not out of your price range.

they have different kinds of cheese and meats to match your chosen wine; pizza, and pasta. i loved their cinco pizza with 5 kinds of cheeses (490php; mozzarella, blue cheese, parmesan, cream cheese, and cheddar). the trufflepasta(235php) isn't bad, but i wish they would've cooked thepastabetter - it was very soggy. this place has its own cellar filled with castel starmina - fino's romania-imported house wine. good quality wine without the expensive price tag.

if you are looking for a nice deli and wine place in marikina, fino should definitely top your to-visit list.

fino deli is a great place for intimate dining, romantic interludes and power meetings to impress. we believe this is one of the best in this part of marikina. the ambiance is classy and the decor contemporary european. it exudes charm without being over the top.

they have a premium selection of wine kept in a regulated cool environment and there's a variety of imported options in their deli display. they also have a garden setting for al fresco dining and smokers. the restrooms are nice and clean and the parking space is more than adequate. fino deli has definitely elevated the concept of a deli a few notches higher.

as an afterthought however, we think the dining area arrangement could be improved and further upgraded if the deli counter and the shoes on display for sale could be relocated to a separate area. those kinda looked out of place in such a nice and elegant surrounding.

finding the restaurant was also a challenge since the map locator in zomato points to a different spot which is a bit far from where it actually is. we immediately advised the staff and hopefully the error will be quickly corrected.

as it was just 5pm and considering we already have a confirmed dinner date later in the evening, we decided to just have a light snack ofpastato be able to gauge their food quality and presentation. we ordered the truffle mushroompastawhich sounded amazing and it was. flavors and food plating were exceptional.

as expected, the prices are on the high side but are reasonable taking into account the quality of ingredients used and the overall impression of the place.

we commend the waitstaff headed by captain waiter julius. they were very attentive and helpful.

after work last wednesday, unexpectedly i was invited for a foodtrip at fino deli restaurant in marikina. i haven't heard about this one but gamely, i came along without any idea of what this place serves or even where this place was.

coming from masinag/soliven, we rode a trike at lilac st going go dao st.

we came around 4pm and was a bit hesitant to come in since there were no customers inside. at first, i doubted if this was open but then i saw the store hours was from 3pm-12md. so yea, they're open that early. i was also surprised to see how big this restaurant is. compared with the usual food trip spots in lilac st, their place is definitely bigger with a big parking lot. super convenient to customers coming with cars since parking won't really be a problem.

first impression of the restaurant: first high-end fine dining restaurant near lilac marikina. the place is really "sosyal" haha. i was actually on my scrubs that time so i really thought, "dapat nagdamit ako ng maayos. ang ganda ng place sana dinala ko ung camera ko. gusto ko mabigyan ng hustisya ung ganda ng place. haha". i kept thinking that until we got inside. haha

upon entering, the waiters greeted and assisted us with our seats. we sat beside the window.

place is super nice, perfect for family gathering, friends meet up and definitely a nice restaurant for dates with your loved ones. there were a lot of wine designs on the place.

upon seating, they gave us the 3 pages menu. they're on their soft opening but they already have a lot to choose from their menu.

while waiting, we were actually given complimentary food. it's a bread with a butter. i don't know what kind of bread this is but it isn't like your ordinary bread. even this complimentary bread given was already superb. :)

we had a hard time choosing what to order since there were a lot of yummy dishes to choose but here's what we ordered:

carbonara
"creamy whitepastawith crab meat and bacon"
php 259
- i love whitepastaa lot! though i'm not a seafood lover, this dish made me crave for seafoodpastameals. haha their carbonara is a combination of white creamy sauce with crab as a major flavor. the crab flavor was a bit empowering but it compliments well with the white sauce. never tasted something like so i really enjoyed my dish. servings were just enough for me.

gambas
"spicy shrimp cooked in white wine"
php 165
- this a spicy shrimp meal perfect for the rice. again, i'm not a fan of spicy meals but their spicy shrimp tastes okay with me. shrimp isn't really that spicy to which i liked. it says it is cooked with white wine but i wasn't able to taste the wine. their spicy shrimp was very flavorful, soft and yummy.

cinco quezo
"5 kinds of cheese with creamy white sauce"
php 475
- this is definitely heaven!! haha since i'm a big fan of any kind of cheese, i really really looooved their cinco quezo pizza. it's a 12 inch pizza with oozing 5 cheese on it. might be a lil pricey for a pizza but i tell you, super worth it to and siksik talaga sa cheese and flavor. as in di ka tinipid sa ingredients especially sa cheese. super recommended to (especially for cheese lovers like me and even non cheese lovers) and definitely a must must try! :)

btw, i wanna commend their waiters as they were really attentive and courteous. they even asked how our meal was.

we were also given a survey after our meals and i wasn't really able to comment well (since i was already sleepy and my brain wasn't really functioning well that time. haha). hope they'll see this review since i really really loved their foods and place. a bit pricey from my usual food trips but with the quality of food they serve, worth it naman sya.

will definitely recommend this to my friends and will come back since i still wanna try more dishes and for better photos na rin. (mag aayos na ko at magdadala ng camera and more friends! haha).

***fino deli (09.23.16 updates)

been at fino deli at around january or february this year and had a great experience dining here. i remembered telling myself that i'll definitely come back here since i wasn't prepared when i first came here (naka scrubs ako nun te and phone cam lang dala ko.. asan ang hustisya?! haha). and the food, world class!!

fino deli is a fine dining spanish-italian restaurant located at dao st in marikina. their dishes are really good and their wines are directly imported from romania.

btw, finally got a photo of the menu here:

cold cuts and cheese platter #1 (php445)

"spanish manchego and italian prosciutto with olives"

cold cuts and cheese platter #2 (php320)

"dutch aged gouda and italian salami with olives"

cold cuts and cheese platter #3 (php345)

"dutch goat cheese and spanish salami with olives"

- i'm not sure which one is the photo but they were able to let us try different cold cuts. and all i can say, they're all good!! and the cheese, super perfect!! :)

cinco quezo (php490)

"5 kinds of cheeses with creamy white sauce"

- still can't over their cinco quezo from the first time i've tried it months ago until we came back here. just typing this one and imagining the cinco quezo pizza, ahhhh i'm drooling!!!! would eat this forever!! haha best cheese pizza i've ever tried!!! must try!! :)

truffle mushroompasta(php235)

"linguinepastawith fresh mushroom drizzled with truffle oil"

- not a fan of non-whitepastabut this changed my mind. thepastawas cooked well and i love that it wasn't dry. the taste is so perfect.

wine by the glass

overall, i had a great experience dining here the 2nd time around and still, this is the best fine dining hidden gem restaurant in marikina. worth it and sulit! definitely recommended and will come back :) thanks again zomato and fino deli for this experience :)
