my darkchocolatecupcake with raspberry filling was delicious. i also bought and shared a tiramisu glazed coffee scone. i originally came in looking for my favorite: passion fruit cake, but i did not see it on display this time.

when you go to a place called extraordinary desserts, you have high expectations. with two locations in san diego, this is where we landed as soon as we arrived there. pad to write down our choices at extraordinary desserts in san diego. after being greeted, they gave us a pad so we would look around and write down our choices before being seated at a table or at the bar, depending on availability. problem was that there were too many yummy choices there, not that classic at the exception maybe of the lemon bars orchocolatechip cookies that had lots of chocolate. we decided to try the following:

had the bundtchocolatetruffle.it was tasty but the raspberry at the end was too sour. i loved the place and the variety. probably would've tried more if i hadn't been stuffed.

i think i definitely need to try this place again because i was a bit disappointed with my first visit. it had been hyped up so much that i may have had too high of expectations. my dessert turned out to be pretty average, but maybe it was an off day. i got achocolatedessert, and though the presentation was nice, that seemed to be all i was paying for. they had lots of other interesting choices and i'm willing to go back to give this place a second chance.

if you are in san diego and you haven't been here, then you have missed out on something. i am a darkchocolatelover and boy do they have the right mix of sweet and bitter in not just one but quite a few desserts. few of my favorites are "chocolate haupia" , "au chocolat" and "caribe". 
the only reason why i haven't given a perfect score is because they run of the good stuff pretty fast. it can be frustrating to wait in the line for 20 mins and not get what you have a craving for. to beat a scenario like this, avoid going on friday and saturday evenings. if you do have a weekend sweet craving try satiating it during lunch hours (anytime before 5).

this place was an ethereal wonderland in the evenings, and the coffee was excellent. i remember getting some type of whitechocolatecake here that was beautifully arranged with edible fresh flowers on top. though this place is hyped to a level of foodie fervor bordering on religious, i found the taste to be not as extraordinary as the presentation.

strawberry shortcake is amazing. the strawberry shortcake is absolutely perfect. i have never had strawberry shortcake this good. it's even better with whitechocolateice cream! plus it looks so fancy with the flowers and gold.

perfection. i think i have tried all of thechocolatecakes and most everything else that is not cheesecake or looks boring. this place is amazing. not only in taste but beauty. the owner truly knows desserts. pure perfection

...we decided to go to extraordinary desserts for dinner. this cafe is located in downtown san diego. we waited for around 15-20 minutes in line to be seated. the environment was very nice and the service was excellent. the servers were very attentive and remembered everything that we wanted (including how many cold/hot waters). the desserts were delicious and rich. i ordered the bread pudding, which turned out to be wayyyy too filling than i expected. for the price you paid, this is definitely a good place to head. my boyfriend ordered a raspberry whitechocolatecheesecake, which was delicious as well. overall, i really enjoyed the desserts we had and would love to return. ratings 1) environment - 4 2) drinks - n/a - we didn't order any drinks 3) food/desserts - 4.5 4) price - $$ -  approx $10-$15 for a dessert 5) service - 4 overall - 4.5

our favorite dessert place. do not go after 7pm or you will wait in an hour long line (totally worth it). my favorite is the passion fruit ricotta cake. my husband feels tied between the guindua and the triple berry. my brother's favorite is theirchocolatelava bun. everything i've eaten is really awesome!

such beautiful desserts!! the hard part is trying to pick just one. we had thechocolatetiramisu, which was divine! so moist and not too sweet. i wish i could have tried all of them!

retro/contemporary appeal. this branch is larger with more dessert selections, cheese plates, appetizers and panini/sandwiches. my sister and i had the tofu panini is excellent for the vegetarian palate. the have vegan options as well for their sandwiches/paninis. our friend had the grilled cheese and she liked it. the best part, of course, were the desserts. i had the strawberry mini scone and a petit raspberry danish. my friend had achocolatecookie and the apple croissant pudding (this is wonderful). my sister had a berry/custard dessert with a meringue on top. the teas are great. i recommend the love ischocolateandchocolatetears.

eh!. the choices change daily. my choice was achocolatetruffle cake. the cake was so so, basically a devil's food cake. but! the ice cream was so good. custard base with a nice flavor.
