most people will know eva for their small platesmenuavailable most evenings till late. equally worthy of your time and money though is eva’s sunday brunch. themenutakes in many familiar sights such as eggs benedict ($10) or stuffed french toast ($7.50). what caught my eye though (and arteries) was the hearty full irish breakfast ($9.95). this caloriffic plate of goodies is sure to ease those early morning pains with rashers of real irish bacon, sausage, roasted tomato, house potatoes, two eggs any way you like em, toast and jam. and if that’s not enough, and a hair of the dog is in order, there are five different varieties of mimosa to wash away those sunday blues with too ($4-$6). eva 317 s main st, salt lake city, ut 84111 (801) 359-8447 www.evaslc.com the post eva: full irish breakfast appeared first on best of slc .

get a new hostess!. i was super disappointed in their service on sunday night. i had the luck to have an impromptu girls night . i suggested eva's - never again. i expected to wait . the hostess told us 20- 30 minutes. i gave her my cell phone . the people that arrived before were seated . we waited just outside on the bench. i made eye contact to the hostess though the window several times. we were the only people there and waiting . other people in our party used the restroom during our wait. when i checked in with the hostess after 30 minutes she said she had called my cell phone several times and got yelled at by someone. we would have to wait 30 more minutes . i told here were were right there why would she not look around for someone waiting when she clearly had written the phone number down wrong . she tried to say i gave her the wrong number . its my number i know it pretty well. we all had our heart set on certain items on themenuafter staring at it so we waited it out . i got the weakest apology and no complimentary anything that might have made me feel better . i wont be paying to be treated like this ever again. the food is not that good .

the verdict? eva's has a super interestingmenubut is foiled by terrible execution on all fronts. i don't recommend it but i suppose there is hope for the joint if they import some chefs. nice beards, plaid, checkers, paisley and vintage floral only cover up so much. if you're thinking about eva - do yourself a favor and head over to finca instead.

love the food and atmosphere. the food is excellent and very well priced. the drinkmenuis great too. the service is often mediocre but it is certainly worth it. sometimes you end up waiting a while to get a table but no problem! give them your cell #, and go grab a drink elsewhere and they'll give you a call when its ready.

decent food, horrible service, and plenty of deep v's.. mistakingly took a party of 13 people to eva, it is definitely a place for parties of 2-4. we split up into smaller parties after having to wait an additional 45 minutes due to the hostess messing up the reservation. the atmosphere is definitely geared toward the hipster crowd, complete with the black keys and the national albums playing all night long. while the waitstaff was very friendly, the service was horrible. our waiter was virtually non-existent throughout the night. what should have been a two hour dinner lasted almost 3 hours. while the food is good, read themenucarefully because the names they give food usually have little bearing on what is actually in it. if you order the pizza margarita, i hope you love pickled jalepeno's and cilantro. a nice pizza with an arugula pesto, prosciutto, and a fig vinaigrette. sorry, my version of of nice vinaigrette doesn't include giant dollops of fig puree that need to be scraped off in order to actually taste the rest of the pizza. now i know a lot of people really like this restaurant, but after my experience there, i feel i need to give this place a rest for at least a year or two. maybe give my waiter a little more to time to get his full sleeves squared away so he can focus on the service and not on what his next tattoo is going to be. to top it all off, the waiter took the liberty of adding a 20% tip onto our bill. we did have a party of 7, but usually that is reserved for parties of 8. there was no disclaimer on themenufor such behavior to be justified. overall, the restaurant has potential, but the waitstaff needs to actually be of some service and the food suffers from what i might deem to be a little too creative to the point that it doesn't always work well together.

evas. recently my family and i ate at eva's for breakfast. themenuwas a little confusing but i ended up ordering a side of patatos, and a salad. the salad was very good, but as for the patato's lets just say i think i had the salt intake for the rest of my life! the breakfast ended up to be 60$ for 4 of us. which in salt lake i have had much better breakfast. personally i would recommed spending your money at bruges waffles and frites. they are cheeper and you wont get heart problems from all the salt. just like my dad and his friend said they were peeing salt!

happy hour joke. i do not recommend this place because service is really bad. it's so bad that we left before we even ordered food or drinks. we got there at 5:30 pm for happy hours, which was advertised on their website as from 4pm to 6pm. the server told us that it actually was from 4pm to 5pm. we still asked for a happy hour menu, so she took the regularmenuaway and gave us the other one. it turns out that on the happy hourmenuthe drinks are the same price as on the regular menu! so what is the definition of a happy hour? we tried to ask the waitress about the price of the drinks and she rolled her eyes and answered in a rude way that indeed drinks were the same price. at this point we decided to leave. it was a really weird experience. we didn't feel welcome and the server acted like we were making a big deal about the happy hour, but in reality the restaurant should keep the info on their website up to date and should not advertise happy hour which is a joke and not real happy hour. plus, we are customers and we deserve some respect and honesty.

phenomenal!. delicious unique dishes, exceptional service, wonderful ambiance. eva takes you away from the typical feel of a slc restaurant - the outdoor seating is wonderful and themenuis continually changing. small plates allow you to try a wide variety of delicious options. favorites: almond ribs, three cheese flat bread, and loukoumades, just to name a few.

eva, almost great, but not quite yet. i have gone to eva four times. the first time, they had only been open a short while and the food was great. presentation was nice and the modern decor of the restaurant was refreshing. however, even from the first visit, they have forgotten ordered items on at least two occassions and it took a really long time for someone to come and give us a menu, then another really long time for someone to come and ask if we wanted drinks, and then still another really long time until we got a chance to order. on at least one other visit, we had waited so long for the bill that i had to finally go and chase someone down to ask for it. my biggest complaint is the service... it is pretty lousy. time-after-time, whenever we would get a abandoned for an interminable amount of time, i could see the waiters and waitresses congregating at the bar - almost as if they were trying to avoid walking around so they would not have to help anyone. still another time, we waited so long for a dessertmenuthat we ended up skipping it altogether and going to the bakery for dessert. the last time we ate there was the other night - same story all over again. but this time, there was a new twist: every single one of our dishes had at least one, large chip out of them. some even had four. come on, guys! buy some more disposable plates, or be more careful with them! i really don't mind paying a reasonable price for great food, so please clean up your act, or we will have to cross you off our list of viable eateries. p.s. the food was good but really salty.
