eva's gone downhill. i'm not sure if eva got a new chef or what's going on. eva used to be one of my favorite restaurants, however the last few times we've been the food was super salty. i always used to enjoy eva for their fresh food and great taste, but it's not worth it if i can only taste salt.

dont go there for mothers day! or ever. my wife wanted to go to the little america mothers day brunch, but i got the email on fb saying you guys were having one as well. i convinced my wife we should go there instead. and well we left very very disappointed
my wife and i were there with my little brother this morning for mothers day brunch, it was a party of 3, we were seated very quickly (the only fast thing that happened there today) they gave us the smallest table there, then we waited for out server about 10 minutes , that's when i said.. i guess we just go up there and get food.
after getting some food on the buffet we sat down and still our server still has not come... we finally had them come over, and we got some waters, we also asked for some soft drinks and some juice (which we thought was included in the price but were very wrong) i noticed we can have omelets made, so i had to ask about 4 people before i found someone who can put in the omelets order. admittedly, the omelet was great. we also ordered a eggs benedict that we got about 45 minutes later, i guess the eggs benedict made today were cooked in a crock pot or something lol. when we asked where the omelet was to one server ( our main server was never around and only there towards the end when its time to pay up, coinsidense? ) she said "let me check, ( comes back from the kitchen) oh it will be right out", about 20 minutes pass and we ask again , this time to our actual server and she gave the facial reaction of "omg, i totally forgot about your eggs" kind of look. after we got the eggs, no one apologized for the delay.
to top that off we had to stack our dirty plates on top of each other, at one point my wife was eating food on a stack of 4 plates high. the prime rib/lamb was served cold, like the "its' been sitting around there cold" and the potatoes were very greasy.
it was just allot of things that went wrong today bad slow service, people were confused, i could have had a better time at denny's. food was decent except for the omelet which was great, chocolate fountain was a joke with them rock hard rice crispy treats. soft drinks not included in the price was a joke, i already felt cheated, now nickel and dimed?!?!?
i really had to say something about this, i felt we made a horrible decision, our bill was $83, and we still tipped 15% exactly. for about 30 bucks more (10 a head) we could have gone to little america and gotten something great. hell royal eatery down the street, toasters, market street gracie's even mo's would have been a better place to go..
no one seemed to care or notice we had a bad time, we were visually upset and i was steaming.
a customer you have lost.

if you are looking for a meal downtown, you would be hard pressed to beat eva. especially at these prices, it would be almost impossible to lose.

great hours and tasty food. nice place for a variety of dishes. gourmet pizza, small plates, and great wine, beer, and cocktails. great late-night hours on the weekend. it's a bit loud, and small, so if you're dining during peak hours make sure to make a reservation.

delightful!

eva's was within walking distance from our hotel, and because of some of the small dishes on their menu, we decided to give it a try. it was amazing! the food and staff of highest quality. we will certainly stop there on every visit to slc in future

i have no idea why people rave about eva. i’m western european native and totally unimpressed. been twice. there’s nothing special about the food or “desserts.” and we tried going to dinner once before a show at the eccles and eva closed at 6 pm!

this place is a bit pricey but quite good. the lamb chops and the asparagus were especially tasty. staff was very friendly and attentive. parking is limited but that's just the nature of the location. i'll definitely go back.

food is usually amazing, service is frequently a dissapointment. younger male host up front can make you feel like you're a nuisance if you have a seating request. we've been here a hundred times and love it but the host remembers how much he doesn't like you for asking for a seat on the patio the last time and he yells at you about it the next time. so he's kind of a weiner but the ribs, tritip bruschetta, gnochee and several other things can be absolutely fantastic.

"tapas style" at ridiculous prices!. unlike eva's menu, real small plates or "tapas" are also known for small prices. even their ok main dishes are "small plate" size but double the money, so definitely not worth it. these are not spanish tapas at all...if that's what you're looking for, this is not the place to go.

what makes a great brunch spot? for me, there has to be plenty of egg-based dishes or dishes topped with eggs, since eggs seem to be the quintessential qualification for a dish to be in the breakfast category. there needs to be breakfast cocktails like mimosas and bloody marys; bonus points for any drinks garnished with bacon. and the restaurant needs to be an inviting place where friends can casually enjoy their food. eva, the small plates restaurant in downtown salt lake city, is an excellent brunch spot that covers all these bases.

we went to eva last night with a group of eight people, and wow! this is the kind of food we've been waiting to find in slc. if you appreciate well seasoned, well thought out, and well executed dishes, this is definitely the place for you. everything we tried was spectacular, but some of the highlights were the brussel sprouts, pork belly, seafood risotto, and truffle cake. this is definitely not the place to go if you're in a hurry, but if you can take some time to enjoy your dining experience, then you won't be disappointed. this is by far one of the best restaurants we have dined at in the ten years we've been here, and i'm confident that we will be back very soon and very often.
