review:
although i added an extra entree into the ordered list above, please note i stole it from my partner because i wanted to talk about it.
the entrees were amazing. snails were tender to eat (i've had them chewy before) and dipped in this oily, flavourful, fattening garlic and herb butter gave it this decadent creamy taste. just excellent!
also enjoyed entrecote's beef tartare. i haven't had smoked tomato potato crisps before, and having it alone really dulled my senses. i feel like i only enjoyed it because of the differing texture to the soft minced beef. adding in this egg made it loose, and very edible. also great!
what wasn't fantastic was the entrecote signaturesteakfrites. i'm quite picky with my meats, and prefer a rib eye. my idealsteakhas a balance of meat to fat ratio, where you get enough flavour from the fat. unfortunately, entrecote's steak, cooked medium rare, came out lean and became a bit tiresome to eat for me. although +1 that they provided mustard as a side (i adore), it still wasn't enough for me to enjoy the meal. chips were average as well - nothing special.
i'll briefly touch on dessert, but the lemon tart was also great. not one of the best i've had, but with the creme fraiche it really mellowed out the bite of the lemon tart. but the refreshing nature was a great way to end the meal.
gorgeous interior, very private and attentive waitstaff who was at the ready with keeping my water topped up. all in all, it was a nice experience but nothing would really bait me to come back and travel here again.
unless i was already conveniently in the area, and wanted some delicious entrees.
