was seated right away, hadgoodservice but the food was notgoodat all. the only thing killer about the chimi was the $15 price. it tasted as if meat was old and had odd flavor. i was able to eat about half and i had enough. i told the waiter and he came back and gave me 20% off the chimi. i was never offered another dish to eat. as for the tacos you might as well go to del taco as small as the 7 bucks for 2 tiny tacos are. very disapointed and would not recommend this place to anyone ever!!!!!

well, i will say the food was tasty. service was very good. i sat at the bar and the bartender was on top of it. granted it was just me and 2 friends there. none the lessgoodjob. my friends all enjoyed there meals as well. although we all agreed on one thing. the price is a little out of line. i had a carne asada torta. quite tasty... although it wasn't made correctly. it didn't come with the mayo mustard combo in it. which it said it would. a little disappointed. i think if this place lowered the prices a bit, it would be happening. probably won't come back, there are too many just asgoodif not better mexican joints in the area for less. if i want to spend 16 bucks on lunch, i'll hit up san tan next door.

sit in the back patio under the trees and surrounded with flowers and enjoy the great mexican food. although phoenix is full of mexican restaurants but  one can hardly find relleno. in my search forgoodshrimp relleno, i landed up here for lunch and would like to visit every time i am around.

for the first night of my foodie group, we ate at el zocalo mexican grille in chandler. i’ve been here several times in the past. they have an awesome patio with lots of pretty lights for dining. they are owned by the del la cruz family. my favorites are the chile relleno and the mole de polo along with their margarita on the rocks. i really enjoyed hanging out with all the foodies that just love to eatgoodfood. great bunch of people!

great atmosphere on the patio, withgoodstaff. however, my carne asada burrito was sickeningly salty, and the prices are more than macayos, which is way better if i want salty food.

review of el zocalo mexican grille in chandler. we had a party of 6 for dinner, 2 couples, a trio, and 2 singles, most of whom were out-of town guests. while the service was slow, the food was good. however, when the check came and the waiter, logan, was asked to separate the bill, he said the policy of the restaurant does not allow separation of the check. he said it could be paid with one or two credit cards. that obviously was not acceptable and when he was again asked to separate the bills, he literally grabbed the bill off the table and disappeared. we assumed he was separating the bill, but 10+ minutes later another gentleman appeared (assume he was a manager though he never identified himself) and said their policy was to not allow separate payments of the check. neither logan nor the other man ever offered any apology or indicated they wanted to do anything to rectify their poor customer service. while the food is alright at el zocalo, i will never return and will never recommend the restaurant. there are lots of other restaurants withgoodfood and withgoodcustomer service.

worst service ever!. worst service i ever had! our party waited over an hour and a half for food to arrive, we waited 20-30 minutes for chips & salsa and even for them to bring us drinks!! when we complained about the long wait the manager and owner did not want to hear it! it was obvious they don't want to improve their restaurant by listening to customer suggestions. they were rude and flat out did not care to insult us paying customers for letting them know their food took too long!! we will never go back,goodmexican food can easily be found anywhere and this place was pricey and the food was mediocre, so you won't be missing anything by skipping this place and going somewhere else were customers are valued!

nice option in chandler. atmosphere and design is very nice, an upscale mexican destination without being to "sombrero". the service was great and the food came out very quickly. i ordered the pollo asada which was verygoodand portion sizes were spot on.

if it is not to hot i would definitely recommend their extensive outdoor patio.

yum yum yum!!!. definitely the best nachos i have ever had. we had heard that this place was prettygoodand when we got there there was hardly anyone in the place... until we got to the patio in the back yard...it was nearly full.

as the nights cool off in arizona, this is the place to be, it was gorgeous.

we split the beef nachos and a cheese quesadilla. the beef was perfectly cooked and had a beefy flavor rather than being watery and overcooked) they also had just the right amount of cheese, sour cream and guaco and th chips were home made.
flour tortilla on the quesadilla was also home made.

to top the night off we tried the sopa pilla (i call them sofa pillows)... well this was just heavenly and certainly the best i have tasted... save room for this one when you go.

we will definitely be back to try some of their other dishes.
