congrats toelgabacho on making my "never again" list.
chips- a basket of crumbs..,,three times over.
margaritas - over priced and came out wrong (with salt) both times.
food - greasy great street tacos with over charred meat
ordered a large side of guacamole appetizer- served on shredded iceberg lettuce. disgusting.

we both had a hankering for some mexican food with a beer or margarita, and so with my handy dandy urbanspoon app at my disposal, we went digging. after a couple of minutes of research,elgabacho looked like the perfect place to try. and it was. the first thing you'll notice upon arrival is that it takes a couple of minutes to get your bearings. even though the restaurant is visible from the street, and there is outdoor patio seating, the actual entrance is inside a nice mini-mall called the brownstone village. once inside the restaurant, you'll be immersed in the world of the old west - at least

i often visitelgabacho and have been happy until this last visit on 01/17/2013 when i ordered my usual cheese chile rejeno (msp). this normally comes covered in cheese. this time it was covered in ranchero sauce which made the breading very soggy. i never send pates back but i did this time. instead of replacing my dish made to order they chose to wipe off the ranchero sauce, put cheese on it, and return it to me. i could tell it was the same chile wiped down with cheese sauce on it. i know because the same bite was missing and the breading was still soggy. after asking for a manager and explaining the issue i was not offered a comped meal or given a written future comped meal. they just lost a regular customer that almost always brings friends. i'm done! !

i was so disappointed. i live very nearby and my husband and i have intended to giveelgabacho a try since it opened. last night was the night. we thought we were on store for a great meal when we entered. the restaurant was very attractive and my husband was thrilled by all the tvs. he had been looking for a sports bar! unfortunately, the first impression didn't match the food. we ordered two appetizers: stuffed jalepenos and spinoff quesadillas. the spinach quesadillas could have used some seasoning but were passable. the jalepenos, however, were awful. not bad. i mean awful. whatever they were coated in tasted like dried up frozen corn dog coating. and you were supposed to dip it in jr. high school football game queso dip. nasty! short story. . . not going back. hate it 'cause i like to support local businesses but it was gross.

absoleutely outstanding!.elgabcho should be on everyone's no miss list. my wife and i split our time between our home in houston and our home in arlington. we never miss an opportunity to eat here when we are in town; which is often. the food is outstanding; the nachos are the best i've had anywhere. highly recommend you stop in... you'll enjoy the atmoshphere as much as the food! it's simply great food with great service!

still like it. well i was the first to comment on this place back on september 21, 2008. and although just like any restaurant, there have been less than 100% visits i still go on a regular basis. well not so much recently as i've been out of town but i plan to go today and get one of my favorite dishes, the skillet flameado. (thanks ryan). yes they have had new waitresses, yes they have kinks in their system...but honestly, who doesn't? i will continue to go to this place for as long as they will have me (and that's sometimes in question since i will drink at the bar till closing time, lol) david the owner is one of the nicest guys i've come across and no matter who is tending bar they are always ready with my shot of crown when i come in. hell they even gave me a nick name.

loved it.. i have been toelgabacho on several occasions, not only by myself but with a date and with friends, every time has been fantastic. the food is great and the staff is very friendly. i tend to try to get outside seating but have eaten inside as well (although inside feels like the patio of a house due to the decor). i strongly recommend this for a date or just casual dining, it's very nice and upscale without the requirements of a suite and tie.

el gabacho is the best tex mex restaurant i have been to. i have been on a mission to find the best tex mex in the dfw area andelgabacho has won my blue ribbon for their tex mex dishes.
