to be fair, i had never tried a tenderloin sandwich. eh. not so good. bland...and more bland. i was horribly disappointed by the onion rings. overly fried and not one lick of onion flavor. it was dominated by the oil and batter. my root beer was the saving grace. overall this was really bland tasting and the place was like a geriatrics convention. not quiiiiiiite as good as mvf made it sound. if you're going to try a mvf visited place...go to bub's.

maybe it was an off night but found the food average. onion rings were horrible. tried the tenderloin and it was average. shake ok. friend ordered malt and tasted like a shake. to be fair my dad will drive an hour to get a cheeseburger from here so next time i'll order the cheeseburger.

great root beer!. travelling through indy i stopped in because i had seen it on man vs. food. my wife and i shared the tenderloin sandwich platter, which came with onion rings and homemade root beer. the sandwich was very good, but i should have asked for more pickles because the vinegar from the pickles added a lot. the onion rings were also very good, and weren't greasy like i read in other people's reviews. but by far the best thing was the root beer in a chilled mug. ice cold with no carbonation made the drink the perfect partner to the meal. would definitely recommend it just for the root beer alone.

a nice local eatery. i am on a mission to eat my way thru urbanspoon. i saw this restaurant on man vs. food, and thought i'd give it a try. they have homemade rootbeer, delicious hand made onion rings and i got a tenderloin, it was ok. this place is average nothing spectacular but still tasty. the atmosphere of the restaurant is nice, very clean. i will go again.

not my cup of tea.. right up front, i admit that i decided to try edwards' drive-in because i saw it on man vs. food. when i pulled up to the restaurant, i was shocked by the location, which was one of the most depressing places i've ever been to in my 9 years of living in indianapolis. basically, it's located in a neighborhood that has seen better days and overlooks some gigantic silos and an overpass. this was one of the most unique places mvf could find in indy? i'd like to meet the person who does the scouting for that show... anyway, the restaurant building itself didn't look bad, so i tried to overcome my first impression and just enjoy the food. unfortunately, the food was extremely mediocre as well, even the much-ballyhooed tenderloin sandwich and the homemade root beer. my milkshake was fine, in a dairy queen kind of way, but my breaded mushrooms tasted like they'd just come out of the freezer and went straight into a fryer. disappointed, i went home feeling sick from ingesting too much grease. needless to say, i won't be going back.

a southeastside staple.. i know ppl talk about their tenderloin but their cheeseburgers and chili are great as well. many nights i used to grab some food from there when i was a driver/cook for rolyno's and when i lived in beech grove.

last week, we had the pleasure of enjoying one of the few "drive-in's" left in the city. edward's. located in the armpit of the beech grove area for the past 51 years, it is sure worth the trip to taste a classic coney dog and those
