loved it, but don't want you to know it! this is an amazingplacefor breakfast, and if word gets out i'll have to stand in line even longer! super-fresh ingredients, and creative dishes. i'd (reluctantly) recommend it to anyone.

i've had thisplaceon my wish list for close to a year now, but have been deterred by the wait times every time i've had the opportunity. stopped in early-ish on a saturday (9am) and was able to walk right in to a table. it is a small place, but has a style that speaks to me. open ceiling - ductwork is visible, variety of artwork on the walls, & you can see what's happening in the kitchen, also, a small patio that happens to be shaded in the morning.

the menu has a nice variety of options - traditional breakfast items - bacon/eggs, pancakes, bennies, but also more savory options like shrimp & grits. the menu states pretty clearly "no substitutions" on, well... anything, however, that was fine for me.
i had the bacon & eggs with a side of grits... can't really mess that up, but what i loved about my meal was the chive potatoes - buttery, chive goodness! oh, and the toast is like texas-toast sized - huge.

downtown las vegas has rallied around eat. it's what the #dtlv experience is supposed to be about. and in many ways it is. a new, hotspot restaurant, in the lobby of an apartment building in severe need of some good news.

and as a downtowner, i'm genuinely happy to see thisplacestay alive as long as it has. but that's sort of where my review ends. i've eaten there a few times. and have never really been inspired to write a review, positive or negative, either way...so the best i can come up with is "it's not bad".

there's nothing on the menu i'd dislike. their sandwiches are generally well done. maybe a bit thick on the bread, a bit thin on everything else. salads are good too - but nothing anyone who eats out often, hasn't experienced a 100 times over, yet tasty.

i should add, the on a couple of occasions he service has been maybe "overly attentive", if not a tad confused.

but the biggest flaw at eat is the noise on the inside. during peak hours, the cacophony is scientifically bewildering, if not medically deafening. the combination of hard floors, large windows, the ceiling and noisy bay area suburbanites (who have invaded #dtlv in the form of #techbros) are the issue.

eat, please do your wait staff a huge favor and add some sound proofing. i'd eat there more. sorry for the flat review. but a solid 3.0 for the food being good. but from a guy who likes his music loud, please fix the noise.

i had been meaning to make it to eat for awhile now, having heard great things about chef natalie for awhile now. lunch was tasty, i had the downtown blta and it was filling with just the right amount of crunch. the vibe was casual and laid-back, with a staff to match. thisplacecan get packed - and they only open the patio on the weekends. can't wait to go back and try something new on my next vegas trip!

horrible horrible horrible service. the service was terrible. this is the first and the last time i will eat at this place. first we got there and the it was fairly busy, the host was not polite, ok it is busy i can let it slide, then we sit down thinking ok thisplacelooks fun and will have really good food. our waiter and waitress come to take our order, i had the blt my husband had the chicken sandwich, i asked for no avocado with cheese, my husband asked for no avocado no mayo and no cheese. my sandwich comes out with no cheese on it, and my husbands comes out with avocado. we very specifically asked for no avocado because i am allergic to it. we also ordered an extra side of chips. so both sandwiches come out wrong, again it is ok it can be fixed. after another ten minutes on top of the twenty we had already been waiting our orders come out complete. the food was great. we sat and waited for the check, it comes out, we send our form of payment which was a card and our receipt comes back out with a larger amount. we ask what the extra amount was for and they tell us oh ya we sent out the wrong receipt at first so we just charged your card the right amount and brought it out to you. this was my last straw with this place. my husband and i did not put up an argument purely because they wasted most of our lunch getting our order wrong and at this point our card was already charged. i was super disappointed because i had heard such good things about thisplaceand the food was really good, but i would never go back purely because the services was so terrible. my recommendation is if you choose to go here get take out so you do not have to deal with the staff but defiantly check your food and your ticket before you leave to make sure it is correct, even if it is not they will tell you that is and that is what they are charging and feeding you. actually my recommendation is go somewhere else. there are many many many other establishments within a two to three block radius that i would give a five start rating too, such as anthony's pizza, rachel's kitchen, cus cus, mediterranean grill, expressions cafe, all of which are much cheaper in price per plate and equally or more delicious.

las vegas’s well-chronicled transformation from ‘sin city’ to a culinary destination has caught the attention of all. many a foodie, celebrity chef and tv personality has leant their take on vegas, so when anthony bourdain paid a recent visit, i took notice of where he went. often he’ll make a conscious choice to sample some of the local’s selection, outside the hustle and bustle of all the lights and high prices. one of his selections peaked my interests, aplacecalled eat.

eat? more like weak. first off, i just want to say, what a lively and well thought out title you have!! it does absolutely nothing for the ambiance, environment, or atmosphere.

so we go into thisplacethat closes in 45 minutes (2:00pm) and we are seated with an effortless menu in our hands. if you have seen the 90's movie "my cousin vinny" then you had a choice of:
breakfast
or
lunch
i had the lunch, my mother had the lunch, and my sister had the breakfast. the prices were steep for no apparent reason. i'll tell you why.
this "cafe" sits behind the newly constructed container park near the downtown area and gives off no connection to the "urban" look that the whole community is looking for. if thisplaceis not known by word of mouth then one would think it was an old relentless leasingplacetrying to scrape money to stay and keep its doors open. you would also think it has been here at least since the early 80's.
good for them for putting their name out there by social media, but i honestly don't see how this is going make it for long. the food screams help at the top of its lungs because they are in desperate need of taste, flavor, and palate cleansing. with a menu that only has maybe and i mean maybe 3 or 4 choices for lunch or breakfast that their descriptive plate names would coincide with the food that you get. i feel like the kitchen is saying, "heh heh heh, just kidding no soup for you and if you want pico de gallo then cut up your own tomato." yes folks, i asked for pico de gallo but all i got was chopped up tomatoes in a ginormous bowl with one scoop of pico in it (i got charged $.50 for one scoop of a tomato!!) so anyways, we get our food and it is simply not- that- great. i could've easily gone to one of the local casinos that always advertises steak and eggs for $4.99 or even pancakes for cheaper price.
however, the point of going to thisplacewas to seek out some truth that lies behind the whole commutative urban development surrounding the newly improved downtown area. this new area is supposed to cater to the locals that is why they replenished and rejuvenated this whole neighborhood in the first place. well, hello, i did expect the prices to be more for me, the local, not the tourist.
it doesn't matter anymore, what does matter is that if you want to keep your high prices and rip off your customers from not serving urban stylish food than don't stay open too long, and move to the strip where you can rip off all the tourist you want.

a breakfast/lunch joint that's worth giving a try is  eat.  in downtown.  thisplacecaters to those who prefer traditional meals and to those who are adventurous.  either way, these meals are wholesome!  also, chef natalie adds a french culinary twist to her foods, using the freshest, sustainable, and locally-sourced, organic ingredients, whenever possible: fresh-brewed passion fruit iced tea- the flavors were wonderfully blended together. beignets w/ homemade jam and vanilla-scented mascarpone- our waitress suggested us to try these popular delights.  they were fluffy, not greasy, and the jam and butter complemented these beignets .  these are a must-haves! downtown benedict - poached eggs , turkey bacon, spinach, tomato and herbed hollandaise on a whole wheat muffin.  this is a healthier twist to a traditional dish! huevos montuleños - two eggs over easy with red and green chili, black beans, peas, feta, and sauteed bananas on a corn tortilla.  this breakfast dish has multiple flavo
