this is an amazingplaceon the hill top which apparently was a house to a british and is now turned to a restaurant. its a beautiful dine inplacewhere they serve great three course meal.
we were 4 people and pure vegetarian so we ordered everything veg-for starters we had manchow soup, masala papad, manchuria and hara bhara kabab, for main course paneer ki sabzi and rumali roti. everything was perfect for its portion and size. in the end we had a delicious earls secret special desert which is white brownie with ice cream

don't miss this place

the ambience of thisplacewas to die for! we were seated inside for dinner. with bookshelves and fireplace, this kind of reminds you of the gryffindor common room! we ordered the earl's roast lamb and mee-goreng. i liked the mee-goreng a lot, the meat, the noodles, the sauce, the veggies all complemented each other. the portion is also enough for two people. the roast lamb was a disappointment. i quite didn't like the flavor of the sauce... felt that there was too much of a particular spice that ruined the taste. the panna cotta was so good that i just wanted more and more. it would have been amazing if the food didn't take long.

very beautiful ambience and surroundings. we went there for lunch and was seated at their outdoor restaurant. the food was fine...not great not bad. but the beautiful surroundings made up for it. the staff was very courteous too. getting to thisplaceis a little difficult; it’s situated on a cliff. but it’s worth it. enjoyable experience.

this is a must visitplacewhen in ooty. wonderful location, the view is mind blowing. the restaurant is very colonial and the staff are very courteous and helpful. you can have a chat with the hotel manager mr daniel who is very friendly and professional. one can dine in the glass gazebo outside or within the old colonial bungalow. we sat inside as it was sunny. the menu comprises of continental to indian dishes.
we ordered for a mushroom soup which was served in a wide bowl and was creamy and delicious. we had crispy veggies in schezwan sauce and veg momos. the crispy veggies was well made, but the momos were a bit over cooked. we had veg biryani served with raita gravy and papad. the spices were mild and tasted good.
the dal khichdi, pastas and desserts are very good here. the prices are a bit exorbitant but totally worth it.

go to thisplaceonly if you want to spoil your day!
horrible service, arrogant staff and pathetic food.
wait time is 1 hr.
order time is 30 mins
food will be served after 40 mins
and then what you get is totally different from what you ordered.

only 1 star for the location to take pictures.

the wait was for 1.5 hours and they took another 40 minutes to get the food which was not up to the mark. they served french fries instead of mashed potatoes with food. and when they got the dish back it was cold. never going to recommend thisplaceto anyone.

theplaceis good only to click a few pictures but that would be true for other gardens in ooty. the menu is extremely limited and in that too they don’t have half of the things … in pannacota (apparently their signature dish) they don’t have fruits available which they don’t bother to inform until the dish is served. overall very disappointing experience. staff is courteous but that really doesn’t make up for the substandard services.
p.s. actual food prices are much higher than what has been updated on zomato.

we went out of our way to theplacebut it was a bit disappointing to be honest. food was average and had to wait for a long time before service. maybe because they were overbooked. the server took 20 mins to tell us that the hot chocolate which we ordered would not be possible as the machine is broken - this was after we reminder him twice to get our order. overall i would rate this as a disappointment

reading other reviews seems most of them are unhappy due to amount of time taken to serve the dish’s. even i felt the same but then i realised they want you to spend some time there and have some chit chat with ur friend and family friend while you wait for the food. it’s aplaceto spend some time and experience the peace and serene atmosphere. if you are not the person who doesn’t enjoy or admire the ambience especially the antique styles and you just need some food to quench your hunger then this isn’t theplacefor you. the food is great and fresh, every order is prepared freshly nothing frozen. loved the ambience and staff were polite.

located on the top of havelock road, earl's secret has a very nice ambience to it, especially the glass room, which is where we were seated.

the restaurant serves, indian, continental and south east asian, and most of what we ordered was from the latter two cuisines. with the hype and high rating of this restaurant, i must say that the food in general was a disappointment.

in the starters, we ordered the paneer tikka, vietnamese spring rolls, bruschetta, double decker mushroom and the crispy potato. the paneer seemed slightly undercooked, and was not tender, which is how it should be. the spring rolls were not made uniformly, some were bland while some were very spicy. the double decker mushtroom seemed to be something out of an ametur cook's kitchen rather than a restaurant that has a rating of 4.9/5. bruschetta was the only good starter.

in the nain course, we ordered the spaghetti in pesto sauce and mee goreng. the spaghetti was good, although not great but the mee goreng was just wrong as dish, there was nothing specific that made it bad but everything about it was like that.

if you are planning to go to this restaurant, i would suggest going with the indian, which i believe is fantastic. however, having not tried any of the indian dishes other than the paneer tikka, i cannot vouch for the same.

considering the location and the overall standard of dishes, i would say that if you are in ooty just for a few days, you can give thisplacea miss. you won't be missing out on anything.
