located on the top of havelock road, earl's secret has a very nice ambience to it, especially the glass room, which is where we were seated.
the restaurant serves, indian, continental and south east asian, and most of what we ordered was from the latter two cuisines. with the hype and high rating of this restaurant, i must say that the food in general was a disappointment.
in the starters, we ordered the paneer tikka, vietnamese spring rolls, bruschetta, double decker mushroom and the crispy potato. the paneer seemed slightly undercooked, and was not tender, which is how it should be. the spring rolls were not made uniformly, some were bland while some were very spicy. the double decker mushtroom seemed to be something out of an ametur cook's kitchen rather than a restaurant that has a rating of 4.9/5. bruschetta was the only good starter.
in the nain course, we ordered the spaghetti in pesto sauce and mee goreng. the spaghetti was good, although not great but the mee goreng was just wrong as dish, there was nothing specific that made it bad but everything about it was like that.
if you are planning to go to this restaurant, i would suggest going with the indian, which i believe is fantastic. however, having not tried any of the indian dishes other than the paneer tikka, i cannot vouch for the same.
considering the location and the overall standard of dishes, i would say that if you are inootyjust for a few days, you can give this place a miss. you won't be missing out on anything.
