one of the best steaks i have ever had! bit light on with the veg but that just leaves more room for desert. could do with a better selection of beers that match.

best steak in ballarat if not australia! owned by the same family for over 40 years. this place is built on the best of tradition, come for the steak and the wine, if you want a coffee then dyers is not for you, go to l'espresso (it is great but it's not dyers). just sensational, as always!

diner review - 8th june, 2013. was in ballarat for the long weekend with friends & were busting to go to dyers after reading all the positive reviews. we have been to the ballarat steak house before & thought we'd give dyers a try. the steak was great but the vegetables were disappointing, 4x beans, half a potato. don't know why they bothered. the room was very dark so difficult to see. they didn't have soy milk which i find interesting when allergies are so common. i wouldn't be in a hurry to go back, but it was ok.

some of the reviewers need to get over themselves! never disappointed here. it is iconoclastic and unique for a reason and doesn't pretend otherwise. if you want something different go somewhere else

superb food, impeccable service, my husband and i dine here regulary, never to be disappointed, i would definitely recommend dyers steak stable first and foremost every time.

terrible service and not willing to cook seat in a manner customers ask. the other dedicated steak house in town is much better.

the decor was a bit dated but we really enjoyed the atmosphere and food. i've been there 3 times and the steaks were great each time. worth the visit.

my favorite resturant in ballarat. every single time i have friends from overseas or interstate. it's the first place we head too. fantastic service and great consistent food. we love. if visiting ballarat !! it's a must. you can't go past ballarat's first steak institution.

the rude service and don't care that yr here attitude ruined this place for me! everything seemed to b a hassle for the manageress!

top steak in the dark!. pepper eye fillet steak was outstanding cooked rare to my liking. i would have taken a photo but unfortunately the setting was really dark, it was even hard to make out what else was on the plate.

this is one of those places that is like stepping into a time warp, back to the 70s. it is small, dark and the main menu never changes (in look or content). they do steaks well and, as they should, exactly as you order it with consistency. a ballarat institution.

a gem. apparently a real ballarat institution.
cozy with great service, steaks are highly recommended.

their monster steak has to be seen to be believed =huge.
my mouth waters just recalling it.

amazing restaurant . great service especially by young waiter - tom - very happy to give him a great tip. had a great chat with the chefs scott and josh who were very happy to cook a meal to suit my request. the owner campbell was delightful fellow who really enjoys making everyone enjoy the fine wines. can't wait to visit again. highly recommend this fine dining experience with great relaxed atmosphere

amazing. i was in ballarat last week, and went for dinner to the dyers steak stable, it was amazing. i had the pepper steak and it was really fantastic. the staff were very friendly and helpful throughout the night. the wine list has a great selection. beautiful atmosphere inside, very charming, and great little bar!
i will definitely be back next time im in ballarat!
