durant's is a classic. this is just one of those places you need to try if you're in phoenix. hanging out at the bar you run into some interesting people, and the food is consistently good. the dark wood, booths and decor reminds you of the old time steak and seafood places your parents took you to as a kid, but now you can appreciate the sophistication. and they weren't all nearly asgoodas durant's. the steaks are well above average, the vegetables and seafood are fresh and the atmosphere is cassic. recommended for a special date, business meeting or just agoodevening on the town.

rude raceist employees. was in phoenix read about durant's there ad stated they had valet parking sounded like a classy place to eat.
when we got there the valet just sat there not offering service. when asked if he would park our car he told us to park it ourselves. we informed the management of this. after that the night just got worse. service was slow we had a rude waitress. the employeess at durant's were all raceist. unfortunately if your not white your not welcomed here and your made to feel that way. the food was reallygoodpricey butgoodbut that didn't make up for the raceist people employed there. it is so sad that in this day & age there are still ignorant people like at durants in this world.

think old time steakhouse, dark, deep reds, and white table clothes....then you have this place down. we had a party of 9 and service was really good. unfortunately, the food was just so-so. one steak was so tough, our guest sent it back and it was comped. the stone crab apps were tasteless. my honey glazed salmon was verygoodand i shared with some of the guest. it was a nice experience that i can say: been there, done that.

it was ok! i guess if you want to eat agoodsteak just go to mastros,the prices are almost the same. the service was ok and food too. i wouldn't recommend this place. over rated and it seems like they need to use some of the money they make to make it look a little better

wonderful service,goodfood & fun to see thegoodold boys!!. we were a small group of ladies who visited during restaurant week but it was a place that i have wanted to see for a long time for both historic and people watching reasons! wonderful ambiance and our server (chris) took time to explain the history. it was fun seeing the chaps sitting around the bar and in their booths with their 'nieces'!! the service (chris) was fantastic and the food and wine weregood- especially the ginger salmon and choc dessert. not a place that i would go back to but if you are chap who likes the dark red leather and the company of other similar rotund mature men....enjoy!

what a terrible experience. scheduled a birthday dinner and had an awful experience. i had high expectations for this legendary phoenix establishment. clear they are past their prime, just as my steak was cooked well past the desired level. take two on the steak resulted in a nearly rare piece of meat that wasn't even in the neighborhood of medium well. i hate having to send food back, but these two attempts were not even close to the mark. ruins the whole dining experience when two members of the party are eating, offering to share their food, etc.goodnews was their service recovery....i didn't have to pay for the steak i never ate. wow!

overpriced. we took some customers there this week and were disappointed. service was slow and i had to ask for drink refills twice. the scallaops were way over priced for the serving. the filet was ofgoodquality but was served only warm and somewhat dry. appeared to have set under the warming light too long. overall the $100 a person was more like a $50 a person meal.

nowhere else for my steak money. waiters attend regularly scheduled wine training. the steaks are outstanding. the martinis, legend. reviewers who are disappointed in the non-steak entrees...what were you thinking? reviewers who whine about the prices, you should have done your homework. if there's ever a problem with the meal or service, it's rectified immediately. nothing compares to durant's. they've earned theirgoodname and reputation. i prefer a booth in the bar because i like its feel and because the dining room can get a little noisy. i don't need the 'beautiful peoples' allures of n. scottsdale or pseudo- avante garde decor. i always receive top-notch service and outstanding food at durant's, even if i can't afford to go with the frequency i'd wish. dp

i just cannot understand the bad reviews on this fine place.

we have patronized durant's every time we are in phoenix, for years, and absolutely everything; food, service, atmosphere, drinks, etc. has been wonderful !

guess you can't please everyone. ignore the nay-sayers, and don't miss this wonderful place !

this place is a classic ! would be great here in new orleans.

wonderful steaks, great ambiance,goodcrowd. surprisingly, the lobsters are very good, too.

never miss durant's when in phoenix !

dedicated staff. i took my wife here last year for the first time, and she was so impressed with the whole dining experience. to start with a great gibson, and a scotch on the rocks, and went from there, steaks prepared exactly how we like them, along with sides, and wine that paired perfectly. it is the kind of steak house your father and father's father went too, and the staff being dedicated unlike other establishments, take verygoodcare of you, as they did with us. there are plenty of high end steak houses, but if you really want a truly great steak served by those that want you to come back, durant's is it.

annoying!. i am sorry i just can't get past the server putting a napkin in my lap as soon as i sat down, i hadn't ordered yet, why did i need a napkin in my lap. i had the beef, i know it wasn't steak, did this server think that all people of color have no manners at all. well, i love them but some of wonder friends and co-workers may have needed his help. there was something verygoodin this restaurant but i can only remember the rude behavior!

what more could you want?. we've gone there so often, we've become friends of the management. their lunches are incredible. they have the best steaks, burgers, and pork chops in phoenix. whatever is on the menu, have no fear. order it and enjoy. they'll bend over backwards to make sure you're satisfied. it's impossible to say enoughgoodthings about this phoenix landmark. call for reservations. the prices are moderate and well worth the drive to central phoenix.
