delicious!. i have eaten here a couple times while visiting my brother who lives in duluth. absolutely amazing food! the pancakes are the best i have ever had and the 7 grain porridge is soo good. all of the meals are reasonable size for the price and i think that if anyone leaves hungry its their own fault. i would dine here everyday if i could!

this was amazing. we tried the dakota dip and the pastie, both were great. and we finished up with an apple and rhubarb crisp, we couldn't decide on just one so we had both. and to add to a great dinner our waitress was absolutely wonderful, engaging, and enjoyable.

what a perfect lunch!. i had had a large breakfast and a big lunch was not on the agenda after the zoo with my wife and son. the menu was terribly tempting though... pasty, bison french dip, burgers, smoked fish salad... i settled on the half 'wich and soup, blt and the days soup, forager's stew. perfect. blt was simple; bacon, lettuce, tomato (ripe and drippy, they made their own dressing). oh, btw, perfect!!! the forager's stew, spruced up potato chowder with greens and some kind of grain (quinoa?), a coupla shots of pickapeppa made it extra perfect!!! gotta try the breakfast.

update - breakfast is perfect!!! scotch eggs, blueberry scone, great coffee. the wife's french toast was outrageously decadent and my three year olds pb&j stuffed french toast was amazing. this is an absolute must stop for dining in duluth, if not the entire north land region.

classic diner food with a twist. after seeing them featured on diners, drive ins, and dives i couldn't wait to check them out. unfortunately for me, i still waited almost a year before finally making it inside.

i was not disappointed. the service was great. i love the old diner feel. the food...yumm. i had the cinnamon roll french toast, and while it could have been a little crispier on the outside, was so full of flavor (especially once lingonberry syrup was added) that i soon moved past that. my friend got the corned beef hash and was in heaven.

the most difficult part? deciding which of their numerous "toast" sides to choose from which range from toast itself to a scone to a gigantic cinnamon roll. i will definitely be heading back in the near future to check out their lunch...did i see bison burgers on the menu?

the duluth grill is a cozy little diner with a vast menu that focuses heavily on locally grown or produced ingredients. there's been a lot of buzz about this place lately, thanks in large part to being featured on the food network program "diners, drive-i

quality isn't dead. i ate here twice while visiting duluth recently. there are still a few restaurants that value quality over mere quantity and ease of production, passion for the culinary arts over simple mediocrity and mere ambiance. this is one of them. don't let the location in the run-down part of town or the unassuming building and ambiance fool you. also, it's well-suited to the vegan and non-vegan alike.

edit: last winter i stopped by again while in town. i had to try the pasty. it was not very good. i should have teetered toward the lasagna after all. next time...

looong wait. i went at around 9 am on a sunday morning. we were seated fairly quickly so i had high hopes but we waited 40 minutes for simple breakfast food. we also didnt get any coffee refills the entire time from our waiter, finally once the manager made rounds he got us coffee. i was not impressed but i will give it one more try

duluth grill more than vegan. though there are vegetarian items available i would not classify the restaurant as vegetarian. they bill themselves as flexitarian, they have a wide choice of non-traditional items such as spicy thai pasta which is exceptional. the beverage prices are too high in comparison to other restaurants in close proximity. food is always fresh and filling. the lasagna here is among the best in the city. i would recommend at least one visit and i think you will be hooked on fine food and a friendly staff with exceptional service.
