been here twice, loved the vibe and the staff is friendly, the visit was over lunch (the service was a bit better than at breakfast)

the firsttimei visited was lunch and it was a wow experience. the gnocchi and chicken curry was soooo yum, will be back to try more dishes.

breakfast was good, but a bit average (this was a few weeks later)

eaten here a couple of times and only had pizza, firsttimei had a pazzo which is bacon, chorizo, ham and onion, a bit salty, the lasttimei had a quattro and it was delicious, can't go wrong with a four seasons,i am a little bit boring when it comes to what should be on a pizza,anyway a very satisfying size just enough. the restaurant and the whole complex pumps. had a greattimegood atmosphere. only complaint is service is slow

we live around the corner and have tried to eat here 4 or 5 times now. given it’s great location we hope eachtimethat things have improved. however after this final visit i am sad to report that we are let down yet again. disgusting service, milky coffee (luke warm and arrives after 20minutes). once you have place a simple breakfast order expect to wait between 30 and 60min for the food to make it’s way to your table. and when it does is is cold, bland and inevitably the eggs are rock hard.
this is not a one off experience, but is rather then norm. we will never return here and will discourage everyone from supporting this establishment. this restaurant does not deserve the amazing site that it occupies.

waited a longtimefor our food to be served, nothing special ordered. the amount of food was extremely underwhelming for the price and thetimeit took. lastly, had to ask 3 times for our bill before it was bought to us

firsttimetrying doppio, i decided to come here on a rainy morning, have some nutella french toast, coffee and read my book. it’s nice and peaceful, service is great, my french toast was alright, i didn’t find it very filling and a tad bit too sweet, i do think a better bread could be used as well but a nice little treat nonetheless. will definitely be back to try out some other goodies.

this my favorite chain restaurant so far! freshly warmed, soft bread was served as a taster and it was absolutely amazing. had the falafel wrap for the firsttimeand it was filling but still light.

been going to doppio for a very longtimeand the service is steadily declining. waitstaff service is very rude and impromt. complimentary bread is no longer served or only served to select diners which is rather unfair. this is a supposed to be a premium restaurant. it has premium priced food but unfortunately not premium service.

little bit dissapointed. didnt have breakfast this morning decided to take the bone marrow steak. wrong cut of rump. the part with the tendon, so not cut for the restaurant. done by themselves. the piece asked fot medium rare ,i got ice cold blue rare. they wantto change the rump butwhat de hell , another wrong cut out of the batc. so stay with thebreakfast thats good butrather take on the spurs rump much better. i dontlike to post things that i dont like but thistimearound i am really dissatisfied. service excellent

had sometimeto kill before my flight, and decided to find a place where i could have lunch while finishing my book in the sun. drove by and saw the sign and decided on doppio. had the most awesome waiter who was very attentive and helpful. i ordered the filleto al funghi which was cooked to perfection. for desert i had the malva pudding which had such a yummy oat crumble... all while enjoying the last few chapters of my book!! pity they still don't have a liquor license, because all i needed to complete my afternoon was a gin and tonic. they do however offer to go buy you something at the liquor store for you to enjoy with your meal (decided against this because i didn't want to have to travel with a whole bottle of gin). all in all, another great doppio experience!!! pity i have forgotten the name of my waiter, he was an absolute bliss and i had some great conversation with him. thank you for the awesome afternoon before trekking back to jhb!!

went for a quick bite to eat. ordered a good bottle of wine while waiting for our pizzas. as always, the crust was thin and the toppings were delicious. service was good. quiet night for doppio though..was it the cold weather? not sure, but enjoyed it nonetheless!
i was surprised just before we asked for the bill, we received free ciabatta breads! so a bonus if you go a bit later for dinner!

i was suprised to find out that doppio was open today. went for lunch and the restaurant was not that busy. after almost 5 minutes (i normallytimehow long it takes for a waiter to come to the table). ordered drinks (waiter got the order wrong). ordered food - grilled chicken breasts with bean&avo salad. the salad was good, the chicken however was super dry. told the waiter he must tell the chef it was dry. no response. need to take a long break from doppio.

we ordered frutti di mare pasta take away from your store in southdowns. to our disappointment it was burnt and tasted disgusting 👎🏼👎🏼 very very disappointing and a complete waste of money. lasttimewe will order from there 👎🏼👎🏼 (pics below as evidence)

i been see this restaurant so busy everytime i pass by and finally i decide to walk in , the bar was busy and i fine one spot to seat, i order the best doppio negroni ever i had in my life, following with polpo antipasti and fettuccine wild boar the bartender suggest a super tuscan with pasta and was great suggestion ,nexttimei'm in town i wanna try there pizza i think they good job on that to .

always keen for the fresh plate option as you can 'build your own meal' and that way get exactly what you want. living an active lifestyle and eating every couple of hours its always great to be able to order exactly what you need to eat at a certaintimeof the day. the refreshing freshly squeezed juices are always on top form as well. great service and friendly staff.

i've been to this particular branch twice. both times have been disappointing. the firsttimewe found a strand of hair in the lamb shank and the calamari was overcooked and in turn, rubbery and charred. the secondtimei ordered a falafel burger which was sahara dry and tasteless. the chips were good at least. as for the dessert, the crepe was cold served with a dollop of expired gelato.
however, on both occasions the meals were rectified. sadly, i'm not going to willingly go there again as they left a sour taste in my mouth (pun intended).
for a better doppio experience, the blue hills branch is a winner.
