my wife and i have eaten here many times withgoodresults.our last visit the prices shot up dramatically, the food quality went down, and the service absolutely sucked.why ask how everything is if you don't give a shit.to whom ever reads this,if you want ''good mexican food''go to dima's on rainbow across from the santa fe.great food and the prices have been almost the same for 15 years.next time i want a sit down mexican dinner i'll go to lindo michocuan, but for go in and grab food nobody has beat dima's yet.restaurants close down every day because of greed and dona maria's might be next.

bien. dona maria is pretty close to our house. i've seen a number ofgoodreviews, and i've been wanting to try it for some time. we finally got around to trying it a few weeks ago.

the albondigas soup was pretty decent. the tortilla soup had lots of cheese but not meat. the chips and salsa were average. the chile relleno wasgoodbut not the best i've ever had. the guacamole wasgoodbut kinda runny. the chicken tamal was decent and the pork tamal was pretty good. the banana margarita was interesting/different. the chicken taco was fine as was the flan. (no, i didn't eat all of this myself. i split it with my wife and we had leftovers.)

okay - tons of cheese not always agoodthing. my husband liked the fideo soup - it was chock full of thick spaghetti noodles in a flavorful broth - not too salty - and was served piping hot. the dinner salad i had was worthless - iceberg lettuce, one tomato slice, one cucumber slice with "oil and vinegar" dressing covered in shredded chihuahua cheese. not too nutritious. the cheese tamales that i ordered tasted like a soft block of monterrey jack cheese wrapped in masa with a few strips of green chile and a piece of onion. way too heavy on the cheese. they came on a plate with yummy, if a bit too salty, smoky refried beans and tomatoey mexican rice. all in all, not the worst dinner i've ever had, but i definitely will not be going back there. the search for great mexican continues...
