diana restaurant

we have heard good things about diana. but what a disappointment it was. we ordered two portions of cutlet and twogudbudalong with puri and kurma. it was below mediocre. kurma(stew) was too damn sweet.gudbudwas a huge disappointment and cutlet was crispy on the outside while bland on the inside.

heard this is a famous place forgudbudice cream & cutlet. but it did not turn out good.gudbudtaste was averge n not that worth the quantity and price.......

we had actually gone to this place to try out the masala dosa but unfortunately they had dosa available but the stuffing (baji) was empty so it was a huge disappointment.
so we finally ordered their pav baji which was more than what i expected to taste for, it had super soft pav and creamy side dish.
and we also tried their famous cutlets andgudbudice cream which tasted just like the old diana place would serve so a big 👍🏻.

this place has lost its charm . used to be everyone’s favourite back then . now the price factor is increased and they have lowered the quality. the food isn’t that great like it used to be before . recommendations :gudbudice cream

finally made it to this legendary place , my wife was always talking about havinggudbud, here , years ago on there visits to udupi , also one of the favourite places for my late mil .

off course , went with the legend and had the bombay cutlet , nice and floverful , accompanied by a slice of buttered bread , a sweetish chutney , chilly tomato sauce and topped with a sort of cacuhmber salad , nice and spicy , loved it . also took a bite of the rava idly my friends had ordered , accompanied by a sort of potato bhaji and a small bowl of ghee , was great to look at but found it slightly bland as per my taste buds. also how could we leave without tasting the famousgudbud, so had a helping each of the same. at rs 100 thegudbudlooked real reasonable to me , but locals find it slightly on the higher side compared to the competition , well a small price to pay for the nostalgia.

the place was quite clean with a leisurely laid out seating and the staff , quite efficient and friendly.

overall a great experience , highly recommend.

hi folks, this is a great restaurant in udupi.. since childhood days i have been visiting this restaurant and the food is superb.. management is great and the staff is polite.. this is a must visit restaurant in udupi . best signature dish is the cutlet... followed by masala dosa,gudbudicream....

i remember going here since i was a kid. had the best cutlet in town and still has it , and the taste hasn't changed one bit, served along with sweet month chutney and tomato chilli sauce. attaching below the pictures of cutlet,gudbudice cream, and horlicks slab ice cream ( my personal favorite).

very nice place with family and friends.. must go , pocket friendly..(poori kurma , cutlet andgudbud) do not return without having them.

the best part is they don't add soda so your stomach also will be safe.

the very speciality of this restaurant are their age old staff (i mean those staff of diana who are working for atleast 20yrs or so wer my mom used to go since her childhood)who welcome you with their bright and tide uniforms.

decent food but prices are pretty high. good ambience. service can be improved. staff was not quite responsive.gudbudand cutlets are good.
