category: fun neighborhoodmidtownpizzeria. verdict: tasty pizza, laid back style, good parking. davinci's, an otp pizzeria, has opened a location on west peachtree in midtown. it's a casual atmosphere. you order at the counter; they have a nice covered patio with a lot of seating. better yet, they have free parking, a plus in this neighborhood. i had a salad and a pizza. the house salad was pretty good, although the balsamic dressing was fairly bland. i ordered an individual pizza with pepperoni, mushroom, and red peppers. overall, i really enjoyed it; having it come out of the oven piping hot was certainly a factor. the crust was good, although it could be a little chewier to meet true nyc standards. the roasted red peppers made a great topping.

bad pizza, great salad and the worst customer service ever. update 3/8/15 2:30 p.m (midtown location). : i'd like to update my review. i will never eat at davinci's ever again! after the horrible experience i had placing my order, i opted to have a co-worker pick-up my side salad because i was already upset. when she arrived, she asked about my order and the price, and the manager then gave her a receipt, and stated "if there was an error, it was on her (i.e. the customer)." then the employee gave my coworker the salad without collecting payment and told her to "have a good day." my coworker assumed that the meal was free due to all of the issues that i had been having.

this was not the case, the incompetent employee forgot to collect payment and came back to my job - saying "that we did not pay for the meal, and that if we didn't pay it would come out of his check." while i understand that there may have been a misunderstanding, at this point i was so frustrated i was ready to send the salad back because i didn't want to give them any money at all.

after speaking with the employee that came to get the money, i thought that he would tell me to keep the salad, and apologize for the poor customer service. he did not and said that he would take the salad back or we would have to pay. my coworker did not want to continue arguing with him, therefore she gave him $5 (yea i know right - all this! losing a repeat customer over $5).

just when i thought the ordeal was over, and that i would never have to deal with davinci's again, i received a call from one of their employees 30 minutes later asking me to remove my review on yelp and on google. no one called to apologize or offer me any type of voucher - or better yet my money back, they just wanted to make themselves look good! unbelievable! now there is no chance that i will ever become a customer again, i don't care how good their salads are. people beware! this is not a business that values service.

original review:

i usually don't write reviews, but i was so irate about the poor customer service, that i thought that it should be noted.

1. every time you call to place an order, you're put on a 10 minute hold
2. every time i order from da vinci's the price is always different - the price shouldn't be different
within a 24 hour period.
3. the pizza is not that good to be honest, but i am a fan of the salads
4. awful customer service - they are unaware, untimely and are unappreciative of reoccurring customers .

i order a salad from davinci's every saturday and sunday, yet they have failed to improve their customer service. there are so many pizza places inmidtown- there's no need to deal with one that does not appreciate your money. when you work hard for your money, don't just spend it at a mediocre business that doesn't value its customers, and where the management say's that "they're not sure what to tell you...it's not their problem."

a great lunch for a great price. davinci's is right across the street from my work and let me tell you how refreshing and exciting it is to be able to go out to lunch inmidtownfor $5. it's about time somebody opened a place that is both tasty and affordable for the everyday lunch crowd. the pizza, wings, and fries are all great & they are not shy with the portions either. it's so nice to be able to go out for lunch without spending $10 and feeling guilty afterward. this little place is doing it right and i know the working crowd is very pleased to have davinci's in our neighborhood!

the setting: my home the meal: davinci’s, amidtownpizzeria that delivers. important note: these pictures are of well-done pizza as we requested that time. unless you’re a person in your late teens or early 20s, delivery probably isn’t a staple of your life. for those of us not knee deep in maruchan ramen or “couch coin” funded burritos, delivery can still offer a utility. but whether you’re just trying to shut your kids up, take a night off from the world, or fool your dinner date into thinking you can actually cook, finding palatable deliverables is often difficult.
