i had stayed in sanjose for 2 months and the indian restaurants were the saviours when it comes to food. i tried this restaurant on a weekday evening and still, it was so lively and packed. the food was good, we had tried samosa, thalis and a few drinks. i also tried panipuri which was great. the ambiance was super cool 4/5the food was tasty but not spicey 3/5overall, i liked the place, food and the funny graphics on the walls!

on a sunday evening, i found myself cravingindianbut also wanted something healthy. while scrolling through the infinite possibilities online, i lock eyes with 'curry up now' and decide to order almost everything off their "popular items". everything was incredible. is it wrong if i order their samosas two days in a row?

went there with a friend. being anindian, i usually don’t preferindiancuisines. but this place change my preference. it has a good vibes inside and outside because of the interior. they serveindianfood but it is kind of fusion to match with western somehow. i can’t say fully fusion but you will like the versions.

must try at least once.
evening would be better :)

curry up now is an interesting take on fusionindianfood. some of dishes are pretty close to ideal taste & flavor while some others are fusion with other countries food. i have been thrice to san mateo branch and once at san jose.

i like the selection of food, their preparation and serving size. i also think among otherindianplaces, this one comes pretty close in terms of flavor and aroma.

where they lose a star? i really think their service and customer orientation needs improvement. in san jose branch, the waiter won't come well after we settled in. in san mateo branch, they won't care to explain the dishes well. in san mateo, the worst thing to happen was in middle of my dinner the store manager took 2 seats next to me and started playing loud videos on his phone while eating. i won't test customers that way!

its a fun take on classicindianfood. from naan pizzas to paapdi chaat topped with avocado, they have added a twist in popularindiandishes. the thali, which had more traditional flavour, was good too. only the pav bhaji was a disappointment. you have to try the avocado topped paapdi. so good!

an average experience withindianstreet food at curry up now. the food is definitely just so so and nothing to write home about. tried the paneer burrito which was laced with so much garam masala and tasted like burrito with biryani inside which is really bad combination. the dessert was nice and my friends seemed to like their food. unfortunately i didn't enjoy my burrito. probably not coming back

ok, i have a new favourite when it comes toindianfood in silicon valley. curry up now has a very contemporary and lively ambience. the food is largely a variation of street food ... almost every single dish we ordered was outstanding!

let's start with the drinks - i ordered the bangalore old fashioned. others in our group ordered junkyard heart, mexican bishop and taj mahal beer. the drinks were presented nicely and were all outstanding - not too sweet, very balanced and bursting with flavour.

for appetisers we ordered gol guppas, party in your mouth (which is a platter of a variety of snacks like pao bhaaji, fried idli chaat, potato crisks etc) and black label sexy fried with chicken ... which they flambe in black label scotch at your table. all the appetisers were very good and highly recommended.

for main course we ordered a couple of thalis and kathi rolls ... again quite excellent. wrapped up with a dessert of gulab malpua crepe, which was just about ok.

the service was courteous and prompt. the server who took our order gave several good recommendations and we appreciate that.

overall, a great experience and i will definitely go back here!

this is a food truck gone brick and mortar.  order at the counter, then select a seat in the contemporary interior furnished with sleek black tabletops that match the unusual menu choices displayed chalk board-style on the wall.  the menu blends ethnicindianstreet food with mexican dishes--think chicken tikka masala burrito, kathi roll (a wrap consisting of a whole-wheat parantha flat bread stuffed with, perhaps, egg and paneer), aloo paratha quesadilla, sexy fries (cross-cut sweet potato fries topped with tikka masala), deconstructed samosa (a mushed-up samosa with chickpeas and teeny-tiny mini samosas mixed in).  drinks include a ginger-mint lemonade and rose, mango, and mango-mint lassis.  special vegan and gluten-free menus are available. more places to eat in san mateo. here are some travel articles to inspire and help you plan some spectacular getaways. images c2013 carole terwilliger meyers

okay, so if you are a person who is willing to satisfy your taste buds with a treat, do not listen to the review below. curry up now offers menu items that are innovative and new. you'll never see anything like it. but basically of you loveindianfood and love to try something different, you'll definitely want to check out this place. i ordered the burrito which hadindiantikka masala and basmati rice and some otherindianstuff, all wrapped in a tortilla. it costed me $8 and was so big i had to split it with my brother. to me, that was a pretty good price to pay for lunch. and, it was sooo bomb! my advice is to give that place a shot.
