intrigue brought me to the doorstep of cure bar. i was reviewing james beard award recipients and was excited to see nola bar listed as such. i went with a friend and we journeyed uptown to this quaint hole in the wall, there was no signage and we literally thought the gps was fooling ya. we walked into such a beautifully decorated bar. the drink menu was jazzy and listed page after age of wonderful delights. i was torn between the two dudes and a cadillac and between the sheets. our table water was room temp and an epic fail in our book. we had to flag the waitress down for our tab and there wasn’t much in way of actualfoodto eat. the between the sheets drink was amazing and the place lives up to the hype about the drinks. i would only return for the drinks.

thefoodhere is pretty forgettable in my opinion, but the drinks and atmosphere with out a doubt make up for it. my absolute favorite place to get a french 75 in the city!

best "adult" bar in new orleans. in freret street corridor which has been revitalized into awesome uptown experience. mixologists can create stunning drinks with 10 different ingredients. definitely can't get these drinks at home or at any average bars.food(tapas type plates) are good. try the steak tartar, which is as good as any i've ever had. not cheap so go at 5-7 which is happy hour ($12 drinks for half price). great pre-dinner spot. primarily uptown locals here.

it’s modern, sophisticated, and has greatfoodoptions for late night eating, bar bites, etc. how can you say “no” to a curewich?? it’s packed with a perfectly cooked, pan-fried egg, smokey bacon, and melty cheese. one bite into this and it oozes with delicious, egg yolk that could be sopped up as a sauce to combine all the flavors in this simple-but-not sandwich. this is late night dining with flare!

great new professionals bar. dropped into cure to grab a quick bite to eat since we were in the neighborhood and their menu on urbanspoon looked unique. must to my surprise the menu online and the menu we were given didn't match. apparently they change their menu periodically and the dish i really wanted to try (roast sweet potato soup) was no longer available. after mulling over the drink andfoodmenus we decided on a short rib "debris" sandwich and some bar snacks (bacon wrapped dates stuffed with goat cheese and moroccan spiced nuts). thefoodwas alright but the portions are really small for the price and the service was almost nonexistent. the cocktail menu is far from the everyday same old same old but is geared to a very particular audience that i guess i am not in because nothing peaked my interest.

great food; service needs improvement. we were seated close to 20 minutes after our reservation time. took another 20 mins ot get a bottle of wine. given that our reservation was at 7 but did not getfoodfor some time, we were one of the last ones out of the restaurant. we were exited with an abrupt lock of the door and a shutting off the lights in front of the restaurant. so all in allfoodwas great. service was downright rude.

nice but.... really like the interior although it feels kind of cold. i go to a lot of nice places but i'm never a fan of silly dress codes for the sake of having one. i understand they are probably trying to keep the baseball hats out but... uggh. drinks are good but it's something you have one of. not so much a place to getfoodthough. the area is still dangerous especially leaving at night. overall i think it's nice but it's more of a place for cocktails than anything. crowd is a bit young for me (college aged).

one of the best bars in new orleans. my wife & i stop in whenever we're in town. caitlin is probably the most fun server we've encountered.foodis good, drinks are great, and atmosphere is incredible.

to start service is to say nevertheless poor. overpriced andfoodquality below expectations. you have to drive a tank to get there and good luck with parking.

i don't drink much but when i do i like to drink at cure. so this is where they keep the mixologists! sometimes a girl needs a well-crafted cocktail. homemade bitters, house-infused vodkas, fresh squeezed juices and exotic ingredients. the cocktails are an experience...not just a way to get drunk.

thefoodis well-crafted too and pairs perfectly with the drinks. the combinationfoodand libations makes the crowd of 20-something happy hour attendants bearable.

i can't wait to return.

good place to eat cheap and drink expensive. this place i hear from so many people is pretentious, it's really not. i think people judge before they experience. the cocktails are expensive, i for one can't go drink there all night. (compared to other u.s. cities though it's really not that pricey). however thefoodis delicious and cheap, cheaper than the drinks. if you do like a good cocktail though it's worth going, if you don't know what you want you can tell one of the bartenders the flavor profile you prefer and they can come up with something for you. atmosphere is awesome, i love the decor. they also serve bayou bock beer from covington, which i think is only $4.

cocktail pharmacy. if you are a cocktail connoisseur this place is for you! very upscale and trendy. if you are a beer drinker or slam your cocktails without tasting then you are better off at another bar. the atmosphere makes you want to sit at the bar and taste all the ingredients in your cocktail. all cocktails are made like a gourmet dish. service looks slow, but it's not. you don't rush the chef if you want goodfoodor you'll get crap. the same applies to cure!

if you want a unique drink in a cool setting, this is a great place to be. we visited several times and enjoyed each experience. we didn't taste thefoodbut heard good things about it.

it'll cure what ails you. this is a serious bar, not pretentious but they take what they serve you seriously.
ever get frustrated with sour mix, maraschino cherries and all the other gunk that is so frequently mixed in with perfectly good alcohol?
if you answered yes then cure is the place for you.
the interior is gorgeous, thefoodis solid and substantial and the drinks are sublime.cure stands shoulder to shoulder alongside the best bars in the u.s. like the violet hour in chicago, bourbon and branch in sf or flatiron lounge in nyc
