great place for a special meal as their menu is quite unique. love their long opening hours and they are always open on public holidays. i always come here early forbreakfastwhen i have a big plan for the day. service is lovely, attentive and very efficient. i think the food taste good and special, but just not amazing or excellent.

the only thing i might suggest is to keep one or two classic brekki choices in the menu for those not fancy to try the latest ideas in thebreakfastmarket.

the place is really nice and warm. less noisy. had been here with my team for breakfast. ordered an english breakfast. not quite up to the mark for a place like this. expected better. they don't offer poached eggs on the menu. the eggs were over fried. $26 for an englishbreakfastwas not worth it. the best part about it though was the blood sausage; which deserved my 3 stars for this joint.

hospitality is all about a range of things so for me. food was nice. value for money was ok we spent around $1,300. we booked for a table of 12 (my wife's 45th birthday) it was set for 7 so this was not so good. no additional table added so 12 into 7 didn't quite go - lucky we were all friends. food delivery was a bit rushed - i suppose they needed the space back. we had to chase for more wine - i think we drank a bottle of champagne and another 4 bottles of wine so we were not bad customers so not so good on the service. we asked the server for a group photo and then forgot to come back so perhaps a little too busy. we had to chase for the bill. so all in all probably better options if you are a group - i might go back forbreakfastthough probably not with a large group as they seemed to struggle a bit. we still left a tip.

this is one of my favourite restaurants in melbourne! i have never had a bad dish here. at breakfast, thebreakfastboard is always the perfect solution to my indecisiveness and the coffee is awesome. at lunch, the sandwiches are fabulous if i manage to score one (disclaimer, they sell out quick!). and at dinner, the best is the lamb shoulder and the gnocchi, with a special mention for the hot bread and high quality butter served with it! i love that you can watch the chefs cook your meal with the open kitchen, and although cumulus inc gets super busy, it still manages to feel intimate and homey.

this is my 3rd trip here. i’ve been for 2 lunches and a breakfast. i must say i preferbreakfastthan lunch and can understand why there was a long q. love the blood pudding, bacon & salmon gravlax.

i’ve only ever been here for coffee and breakfast. i’ve tried the madeleines but found them to be a little heavy/dense. i will continue to return however for the crumpets- they are delicious and they are served with some whipped ricotta, lemon and honey. i haven’t tried any otherbreakfastitems yet because i can’t help but order the crumpets. i wish they were also available at marion! i’ll be back to try out the dinner menu

just want to say that we had a great experience at this place. we sat at the bar atbreakfasttime and the waiter behind the bar was friendly. we had bacon bap and the housemade crumpet and had madeline for dessert. the crumpet wasn't really my thing but my husband thoroughly enjoyed his bacon bap. very simple menu though.

a very cool place for a brunch, tried poaches eggs and coffee, both were very good.this place is very close to public transport and one needs to be on time forbreakfastas menu changes post 11.30 am. be on time and be ready to wait on popular timings.

stopped in forbreakfastafter a workout on a super busy saturday morning and the place was jammed! after waiting a little while for a table (which, it’s melbourne, you’re waiting anywhere on a weekend) we were quickly brought drinks and shown to our table. i admit to having somebreakfastenvy with my fellow diners, they both ordered the shakshuka and i had the porridge with a nip of whiskey which was good but next time i’ll definitely be having the bake!
love the atmosphere and amazing coffee here, definitely a good weekend city option.

visited forbreakfaston a chilly monday morning. loved the quiet atmosphere for an excellent start to the week. service was prompt, friendly and attentive. i enjoyed the cumulus incbreakfast-their take on the ever popularbreakfastboard. i was greeted by two giant pieces of white sourdough and a small slice of multigrain sourdough, to be slathered by my choice of three preserves (blood orange marmalade, strawberry jam & blueberry jam). the preserves were placed on the table in three big jars, so you can apply as much as your heart desires. also received a boiled egg, butter, fresh oj, a small jar of vanilla bean yoghurt with stewed fruit. your choice of coffee is included for a bargain of $18! the coffee is the only thing that let this place down. my cappuccino was weak and far too milky for my taste and was missing the ubiquitous sprinkle of cocoa.

read about this restaurant in a newspaper and walked up the dead side of flinders lane about 750m to find this gem.

portion sizes are not overly big but i feel that made up for being able to have a couple of servings.

food is heavenly. the smoked trout and chopped eggs with rosti - absolute show stopper. one way to describe is to encourage everyone to have it.

the full englishbreakfasthad its own charm and quite unique from the average english breakfast.

the granola was my second course and they were crunchy and fresh baked with the runarn yoghurt was sensational.

then came the madeline to do the finish. which again was amazing.

best yet was the coffee. perfect brew and without sugar added had subtle sweet undertones in the espresso.

can't wait to go back. recommended the patrons to sit overlooking the kitchen for the full experience.

yum! hadbreakfasthere one weekend, very busy but we were happy to sit at he counter. unique menu items and ingredients that worked well. slightly pricey but hey, what breakfast/brunch options in melbourne don’t rival dinner prices these days, may as well get some good food in return!

long story short: was here this morning with 3 others for breakfast. happily waited for 30min+ to be seated, ordered cumulus incbreakfast(boiled egg, toasts, preserves, yoghurt, and orange juice $18).

the preserves came to the table first before everything else and they looked like what they were in the pictures attached, and i swear i have not touched them at all before i took the pictures. they looked like they were leftovers brought straight from another table who just finished digging through them. i looked around and saw no one else has got the preserve jars as “used” as mine were.

i felt a bit uncomfortable and disgusted by the look of these jars. the thought of them just have been “dug through” by someone else possibly still got the very same spoons in the jars, completely ruined my entirebreakfastexperience here regardless how the food actually tasted.

without being rude or sound picky, we ask the staff to “top up” the jars as there were hardly anything left in there when they came to the table, just to see if they would think this would be an issue. obviously they did not notice the appearance of these jars and simply “topped up” one nearly empty jar and brought them back as they were.

later on the day i also had a look at the pictures i could find online of this very same dish, they certainly did not look similar to what i have in my pictures.

please let me know if this is just the standard of this restaurant or if it’s just me being fussy.

location- not something youd come across very easily, probably something you’d need to look for actively in the cbd. but as they say, best coffees and food in melbourne is generally found in small lanes.
ambiance- cumulus has a very chill vibe. it is a classy yet calming little spot. very beautiful!
service- absolutely wonderful! staff very active and very friendly!
food- fairly decent. ordered a cumulusbreakfastand baked eggs. the eggs were pretty average but good nevertheless. may have preferred a nit more flavour.
coffee- great coffee 👌🏽
