wow. great breakfast. first of all the service was great. we were seated right away and every step of the way we never had to wait for our waitress or flag her down. our coffee cups were always kept full. we were here at 9am on a tuesday and it was nearly full but they had 5 waitresses on to cover about 20 tables (i.e well staffed). despite the name of the place being waffles, we went with other breakfast items. i went with the eggs benedict and they were fantastic. eggs wereperfectlypoached and the hash browns wereperfectlycooked. wife went with corned beef hash and that was also cookedperfectlythe way she likes it. portions were perfect. don't get me wrong, i'm not saying the food is the best you'll ever have but it is way better than most places. i've eaten in some well reviewed restaurants in nyc and this place would be right up there at least in terms of breakfast.
they have some outdoor seating too if you'd like a bit quieter setting or would like the fresh air with your breakfast.
the decor is very nice - not at all what i expected. (i expected typical old decor like you get at your local diner) modern yet cozy.
all in all this is a great place for a great breakfast. would definitely recommend and visit again.
by the way if you are a pittsburgh fan you'll feel at home with some sprinkles of steelers and pens stuff around the kitchen. (i'm a bills fan though)
