cruise bar opened especially for lunch during mbfwa, should any of the stylish audiences have needed replenishment between shows. the view from cruise restaurant and bar, overseas passenger terminal, circular quay with the tent venue right outside from cruise and visible from the upper restaurant level, it was the perfectplaceto grab a bite and a cheeky drink before or after a show, which i was lucky enough to do. lunch with our small group was a shared affair of countless platters and sparkling wine. even though i'd missed the shared entrã

for some reason when i went, the menu presented at cruise bar was much smaller than what was available on their website online, and as a result we were only able to order multiples of fries and quesadillas. that being said, the quesadillas were quite nice (although flatter and crispier than other quesadillas i’ve had) and the sweet potato fries were delicious!
the service at theplacewas also top notch (including waitstaff and the security guards) as we were allowed to stay longer than our initial reservation, have extra seats and they offered to close the door to block out the wind, without us having to ask first.

the staff is racist and they are rude and uncouth. they are liars. couldn't handle the stress of new year's and threw me and my boyfriend out because they saw our passports and we were indians. what was our crime ? just that i had taken my shoes off. they threw me out because i had taken my shoes off. i had had only one drink. the manager was a horrible person who did not know how to speak to his customers. i spent $150 here and this is what they did. i would never recommend such a shitty racistplaceto anyone who's not an australian.

at times, it's a greatplacefor an expensive drink, with the pleasant outdoor area looking across to the opera house, but it's more like being in a bank vault as soon as there's a ship there.  the food is somewhat fancy but always seems like small servings of ordinary food for the price.

thisplacerocks, on a bright sunny day, in the courtyard, cold beer in hand, with awesome live music. staff are super friendly, and helpful. and junk lounge, on the second level, has a killer cocktail list with amazing food to match!

love this locations, junk lounge is just an amazing relexed bar with helpful and friendly staffs. love thisplacewhen its rainy day on saturday and sunday.. felt like we are having private live band for us.

i honestly feel bad for giving thisplacea bad review however i must go on my experience. with spectacular views of the opera house and circular quay and magnificent decor and setup thisplaceunfortunately was let down by its service. when i went to order some drinks at the bar i was at first ignored and then after a few glances, was served. i was made to feel like i was putting the barman out by asking him to make my two drinks. then came the waitress who acted like she wanted to be anywhere else but at that restaurant and was borderline rude. it was no wonder theplacewas nearly empty at 19.30. sad really because the setup is gorgeous. saving grace had to be the seafood platter which was stunning.

last night was a fantastic night feasting and reviewing the newly-designed and re-launched cruise bar at the international passenger terminal at circular quay, you may have heard its controversy last week, it was the venue that had the great opening launch with next-to-naked females as decorative food platters in the middle of the table, the country went into an uproar with threats of boycotts and so on, i was invited but was dying of flu in bed so had to miss it. well the boycotts may appear to have been a huge puff of smoke because last night theplacewas packed. the fantastic jai from cocreate communications asked if i wanted to review the venue and while i acted all cool and professional on the phone i was jumping up and down, theplacelooks fantastic and i was very very keen to review the venue, besides who doesn’t want to review a restaurant with arguably the best restaurant view in australia having circular quay, the opera house and sydney harbour in front of you? they have two venues for food, ground floor that opens outside serves mediterranean and then junk lounge, the mid level restaurant that serves asian fusion, cocktails and has views of the harbour and opera house one floor up – sold for junk lounge :).

went here just before an event at the opera house on a quiet night and was impressed. great food (the stuffed lamb was superb). good service. beautiful view (of circular quay and the opera house). the chef likes his salt, but i liked it too. oh, the oysters. in a whole bunch of different dressings. try them. yum! in what can't be an inexpensiveplacefor rent, cruise bar has managed to keep open for many years. well done.

disappointed. came here during 'vivid' for some drinks and snacks - if theplacewas packed, the poor experience my friends and i had could have been forgiven, except that it wasn't particularly busy at all. we initially ordered some wine at the bar (served in thick, scratched up plastic glasses) and were told that it was table service for food, so we found a spot outside. however, despite there being only a few groups sitting outside, the one waiter on duty never came to our table to take our order and when we caught his attention he said that we had to order food at the bar. chips and arancini arrived, but the burger never showed up. when we told the waiter we were still waiting for a meal after having waited for over 50mins, he took a further 10mins to investigate. food eventually showed with no apology. we left as soon as the burger had been consumed...

overpriced with exceptionally poor service, and would definitely not return.

slow drinks service, amazing food and views.. i booked a reservation for 3 on a monday night. i had had drinks at the bar on the lower level on the saturday night previously and had a fantastic night that we decided to come back for dinner one night. the restaurant and views are spectacular. views of the opera house and the harbour bridge. quick tip: when you phone for your reservation, ask if there is a cruise ship docked. if there is, your view will be somewhat blocked.

upon viewing the menu we ordered our drinks and food and sat and waited for our drinks. and waited. and waited. and waited. and waited. and then watched 2 of our 3 drinks get poured and sit on the bartop. after another 5 minutes or so of gazing at the amazing harbour view we still didn't have our drinks. getting thirsty, i went to the bar and ordered a whisky on the rocks and asked if we were getting all 3 of our drinks soon. the bartender said it will be over soon and apologised for the wait. i drank my whisky at the dinner table and watched as she made the 3rd drink andplaceit next to the other 2 drinks. we watched and waited for one of the friendly waitresses to bring our drinks over. and we waited. and waited. one of my guests got the drinks from the bar and bought them to the table as we were a thirsty bunch. i made a complaint to the manager and she said she would look into it. i was told there was a function on for 20 people and that the service may be a bit slow due to this.

our food got to the table without a drama and it was amazing and delicious! we ordered 2 serves of the beef fillet medium rare and 1 serve of the pork belly. the beef was tender and tasty and the pork belly was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. one of the beef fillets was cooked a little too rare for one of the guests, so we shared it amongst the others - i prefer my steak rare and it was cooked perfectly for me. i cannot fault the food at all, props to the chef.

after speaking to the manager about our slow start, she compensated 2 of our drinks. i didn't want any compensation, i was just a little disappointed that such a fantastic venue and restaurant was falling just that little bit behind with service & just wanted to make the manager aware so it doesn't happen to other guests - especially on a slow monday night. other than the slow start, the drinks, food, waitresses, bartender and manager were delightful and friendly.

i would definitely come back next time i am in sydney.

greatplacefor a couple of drinks in the late afternoon sun. friendly and quick service, relaxed atmosphere and delicious cocktails. think i'll be back again soon!

rip-off!. booked a table 3 months in advance -don't bother theplacewas empty-when i phoned to confirm the booking the lady who was supposed to be the manager very casually told me there was no booking in my name-also mentioned that a cruise boat was in dock & would block the view of the opera house,almost suggesting not to come-we went,food not up to standard for the price-no atmosphere,& guess what the cruise ship had left,so we did have a view-only good thing about it-i won't recommend this place

great venue, nice and relaxed.. dropped in for a relaxed lunch and drinks the other weekend. had good ratings and not hard to see why. the salad, potatoes, mushrooms and dips/olives we had were all side plate or entree size, but all very tasty and generous.
great location with couches and tables outside would make this a fantasticplaceto just sit and watch the world go by on a fine day.
