second time eating here. the food has always been great! but this place is relatively small, and they get very busy after 5 pm. if you have more than 4 in your party be prepared to wait! the excellent bar next door helps ease the wait. both the bar and the restaurant have a very nice atmosphere. i ordered the gumbo ya-ya and crawfish etouffee. the gumbo was really good, a nice dark roux with lots of chicken, duck, and andouille sausage. the etouffee was buttery and spicy. we were all stuffed when we left, but we were already planning our next visit for more delicious food. only next time we'll split our party up and be eating in half the time!

had a very good lunch today at crescent city grill. i had the zydeco chicken which is a grilled chicken breast smothered in a creamy cajun sauce, mushrooms and andouille sausage. great flavor in the sauce and the sausage. i also had potatoes au gratin and dirty rice for my side. the potatoes were solid, but my rice left a little to be desired. dirty rice should not be sticky and there was not much flavor. service was attentive and friendly. i really like the variety of the menu with various poboys, shrimp and fish dishes. definitely will be a repeat stop while in hattiesburg.

this place is an old favorite. they serve a variety of fresh fish specials and it is always delicious. i enjoy the sheepshead and tripletail. everything on the menu is great, though. when i'm in hattiesburg, i always stop here.

i decided to stop in for supper because i like the atmosphere. the old dark wood in the restaurant and a bar a cozy. i decided to eat light so i got a dozen raw oysters. they were good and the time to get them short. the person shucking knew how to do it, no shells and they came out of the shell easy. i added a cup of seafood gumbo and it was outstanding, just enough spice. i may get a bowl on my next trip. i had three miller lites which were served at the bar where i ate. i probably should have tried one of their many beer on tap. this is good classic old restaurant which always has good service and food.

i have a lot of favorite restaurants in ms, and crescent city grill is in the top 5 on that list of places to indulge. the gumbo ya-ya was savory and spicy, great as always. my taste for fish was certainly satisfied with the catfish plaquemine (catfish topped with shrimp, tasso, mushrooms, green onions in a creole cream sauce, served with dirty rice)!! need i say anything else? a wonderful meal and great experience. will absolutely be returning next time i'm in hub city.

crescent city is a hattiesburg staple. the creole/ new orleans style of the menu is one of a kind for a restaurant this far from the coast. i've been dining here for over 10 years and the consistency of excellence in the food is what's amazing. it's simply always a great meal.

it does get crowed very quickly due to its high demand so plan wisely if you're from out of town. we rarely have to wait for a table but when we do, we gladly wait b/c the quality of the meal is worth it.

sooooo disappointed. normally one of
our faves but the last couple of visits have been consistently mediocre. today during crabfest we got the crab and avocado salad, the crab melt and the shrimp poboy. to begin with the menu condition was atrocious and i sat in a chair with mangled upholstery. the menu was torn and extremely worn, it kept snagging my fingers.
i felt like i was in a 'greasy spoon'. the crab and avocado salad was great, perfect for a steamy southern day. the crab melt was just sad, no words. the shrimp poboy was the big disappointment; no more real poboy bread. they have changed their bread making it a gummy mess, and the shrimp were over cooked and mia. no more over-stuffed poboys.'

recently visited for dinner. had blackened snapper. very good! have been dining here for 9 years and find the food consistently good. good atmosphere, but a bit loud. i must be getting old. crescent city is one of my favorite places to eat in hattiesburg.

had lunch with my wife and oldest grandson. our meals of speckled trout and a hamburger for my grandson were very good. the service was good but the dessert (bread pudding) was just okay.

recently(march 2019) had lunch with my wife. we both had the cobb salad. it was outstanding!

this is a wonderful restaurant and the closet to new orleans cuisine you can come this north of the coast. it's always clean, busy, and quick. eating the courtyard or at the bar are the most pleasant. in the winter they even have heat for the courtyard! i've never ordered anything here and been disappointed. the only negative i can say is that the serving sizes tend to be on the large size.

a little bit dark and a little bit romantic, crescent city is a great date place. they have the best wine selection in hattiesburg (they share a wine cellar with the joining mahogany bar), and a great beer selection, too. my favorite is the sensation salad and the corn & crab bisque, but just about everything is good. the cajun enchilada is very rich and very large, like most of the entrees. i don't recommend the oysters - the catch of the day is always better.
