the veg edge in coimbatore.
one of the restaurants in coimbatore where vegetarians can make it for lunch/dinner.
excellent ambience and decor. the restaurant could accomodate around 100 or more people and hadgoodseating.
i wasnt satisfied with the service. the waiter who served us was prettygoodbut the rest of them were standing there staring and commenting about us which was a bit awkward. most of all, there weren't any tissues on the table. i would suggest they place tissues on every table rather than on a common table. i had to walk to get a tissue from a desk and guess what one of the waiters who watched me doing that, removed the tissues from there and put them in a cupboard and locked it. weird behaviour.
coming to the food part,
huge menu. very difficult to choose from.
they have everything from sandwiches to starters to sizzlers to main course and desserts.
i've heard about their famous channa batura from my friends in chennai.
my friend ordered batura and a paneer channa curry.
i ordered the set menu i.e. for 299/- they provide a soup, starter, chaat, batura, channa, gravy, biriyani, raitha, roasted papad, pepsi, dessert.
spring vegetable soup - well cooked with carrot, beans, cabbage.
onion rings - wasn't one of my favorites. but okish. onion lovers would definitely love it.
delhi papdi chaat- not the best they could provide but pretty okish. i'm sure they could make better.
bhatura- huge. it was very tasty and went well with the channa they gave me as well as the channa paneer my friend had ordered.
channa masala- well cooked chole/channa in thick gravy/curry with apt spices and seasoning.
paneer channa masala- paneer was very different. very soft and wasnt the usual paneer cubes from other restaurants. paneer was in irregular and scrapings-like. the curry in all was delicious.
gobi manjurian- quitegoodbut have had much better gobi manjurian several times at several places. the manjurian flavourin has to be improved.
cream centre biriyani- delicious and yummy. one of the signature dishes. perfect spicing and unique taste.
gulab jamun - who doesnt love jamun.. jamun in hot jeera was a great finisher for the meal.
i gotta say,
the food i ordered cost only 300 including tax.
but my friend who ordered just a batura 82/-and paneer channa curry 188/- had to pay more than me (incl of taxes).
this is quite ridiculous.
212 /- is too much for a sandwich dont u think?
nothing except the set menu is worth the price.

after a tiring morning during my intern i had to meet a client put by office so this place was calm enough around the city. just checked in and ordered for paneer tikka combo lunch and sandwich; the taste was verygoodand as the name goes the cream centre! such a creamy delight to check in with friends and or for formal people :)

a very fine dine with family with amazing food and agoodambience. chola’s to be one of the famous food available here. always fun to eat here.

this was once a reallygoodplace to dine. now it has lost it's quality of service and food. their supposedly signature dish chole bhature was horrible! it was bland and tasteless.
note to management: bring back the quality of your restaurant!

some places provide that extra level of service which sets them apart from other restaurants. this is one such place. we were in a hurry and had explained that we needed to eat fast and quick. so the staff were very considerate and helped us order items that they could prepare quickly. in beverages they have mocktails, milkshakes, cold coffee. in food, they had north indian, south indian, mexican, and italian. we ordered a brownie shake, kokum soda, and must guava drink. the brownie shake was top notch with good, brownie chunks, sugar, milk. the drinks were average in taste. we then ordered beans nachos, penne arrabiata and macaroni with mushrooms and capsicum. the nachos weregoodalthough i would have preferred cheese sauce over white sauce. the penne arrabiata was a little too spicy. the white sauce macaroni was prepared well withgoodamount of sauce, mushroom, and capsicum. we wanted curd rice which was not in the menu. in spite of that the staff was very nice and accomodated our request and prepared it for us. the taste was really good! rates are reasonable and staff service was excellent, and attentive. the place is quite huge with tables and long sofas for big gatherings and small tables for small groups. the ambience is quite pleasant with cream and white colour decor.

a verygoodplace for vegetarian dishes with loads of options. you should definitely stop worrying about calories and dive in. they have some amazing sizzler.
my favs : american chees balls, nachos with mexican  bean, mexican cajum sizzler  & two cheese & tomato grilled sandwich

downside : overpriced

i would say the best veg restaurant in coimbatore , with some lip smacking , mouth watering menu !! seriously the food was insanely awesome !! i enjoyed my dinner with friends !! great starters to start with and some delicious delicacies to move on further !!

the only draw back that comes to my mind is the service time !!goodambience, great food - u cannot ask for more !! as the name suggests it has got the "the veg edge" over other restaurants!!

super awesome place. lovely menu. they provide valet car parking. onion rings were awesome.goodquality if food n excellent taste makes it worth the cost. also try icecream soda

its a very nice place withgoodambience. it is one of our family's favorite joint.
all the dishes are good. especially chilly cheese herbs toast. pasta was excellent. desserts and drinks were also superb. the only disappointment here is the pricing. but thats okay for the taste and variety dont mind it always.

everything wasgood...usually carrot pickle and pearl onion was delivered...missing this time

bland and tasteless food.. and very poor service.. better avoid this place if you are thinking of having agoodmeal in peace..

the gulabojamun should tastegoodas it was not nice as far as i ate last time ..

a delightful place for vegetarians with excellent varieties of north indian delicacies. chilli cheese maska paav was wonderful with two flavors in each of the paav. american corn cheese balls was faithful to its signature dish tag. onion rings turned out to be bland with no spices and was not worth its signature dish hype in my humble opinion. a little flavor could have been better. so many options to choose from in the sizzler combo and that itself is worth a second visit to tryout something we might have missed earlier. channa paneer bhatura was the star of the show with a very tasty , rich and creamy channa paneer gravy. cream centre vegetable biriyani was really tasty with balanced amount of spices. mexican and italian dishes are in the offer but have saved them for future visits. sizzling brownie seems to be a popular dessert among the visitors but we opted for tall brownie fudge sundae which wasgoodtoo. its a delightful place for vegetarians and i would definitely recommend it!

service and ambience are verygoodand pleasant..food could not reach the expectations
