another favourite of mine when i am in calgary, this was the first (and still one of the best) craft beer havens i've visited.
it's a large open concept restaurant - dark woods, high ceilings exposed ducts, etc. by nature of its design it tends to be loud, so be aware of that. it's about a 15 minute walk from the downtown hotels, so it's doable even in colder weather. i've never driven to this site so i'm not sure about nearby parking access, although it's certainly ample in downtown if you don't mind a bit of a walk.
service here has always been excellent - i've been here at least a half dozen times, most recently last night. it can be busy so occasionally you may wait a bit but it's not unreasonable.
the beer selection is why you come here first - more than 100 brews on tap, and an excellent cross section including many local brews. the food is also uniformly excellent- beer can chicken, mac and cheese and the nachos are all recommended. i was disappointed to see the menu has lost a little of its variety on this trip, but there still are a pretty good list of alternatives.
dinner, drinks and tip were less than $45 (and although their desserts are good i was too stuffed to indulge). happy hour also offers many great deals. check this place out - and i can't wait for them to open in downtown toronto!
