boiled bbq. how can any establishment that sells so called bbq consider what looks and taste likeribsthat are boiled, dipped in sauce and maybe thrown on the chargriller bbq. terrible. with all the things i dont like about this place i have to say their crab cake is tasty. maybe get rib of the bestribsin baltimore sign and replace it with decent crab cakes.

picked here based on reviews, was taking customers from out west to dinner well i wasn't steered wrong. i don't order crab cakes out a lot since my mom makes them homemade but these were really good. we had a great waitress & even though the place was packed once seated didn't feel closed in. we ordered the meal with 1/2 rack ofribswhich weren't my favorite but i don't prefer vinegar based barbaque.

this was my first time at the corner stable. i went on a monday night and the place was packed, likely because of the rib special. there was no wait. they moved people in and out quickly though i never felt rushed. the server was very attentive, and our food came out quickly.

i ordered the barbecued chicken breast with seasonal vegetables (squash, snap peas, carrots, and broccoli) and long grain wild rice. my sister ordered theribswith fries. we also ordered some cornbread, which was sweet.

i thought everything i had was excellent. i really enjoyed the chicken which i found very tender and tasty. my sister said theribswere fall off the bone tender. her only critique was that her fries were somewhat limp and not at all crispy, which she prefers. the cornbread was very tasty, and the portion size was generous and enough for at least two people to share.

i did not have room for dessert, but the range of options was impressive.

the price range is a bit high for my college student budget (about $14 for each meal with the rib special, without the rib special theribswould have been about $21). however, i had to take a to go box home, so i effectively got two meals for that price.

the atmosphere was pleasant too. though the restaurant is somewhat small, or at least has lots of seating which makes it feel small, it felt cozy instead of crowded. i appreciated that the bar area was separate from the main dining area. the building and decor were interesting, especially if you enjoy horses and horse racing.

the ladies room was clean though a bit small with two awkwardly placed stalls.

there were tvs throughout the room, but the volume was low or muted. they played no music, and the restaurant was filled with happy chatter. the noise level was pleasant.

the restaurant was decorated for the holidays and i enjoyed the tasteful holiday decorations both in the restaurant and outside the restaurant.

the parking situation is pretty bad, at least if you want to park by the restaurant. we ended up parking in the shopping center parking lot and walking just a couple of minutes to the restaurant. i would not recommend parking in their alternative parking, which is by battery warehouse, as it is further away than the shopping center parking lot.

all in all, i enjoyed this dining experience and recommend the corner stable to anyone who enjoys good food.

never again. i don't understand why people go there! extremely disappointed! paper plates (?) sad tasteless appetizers, the famousribswere just a bunch of bones with very little questionable (maybe turkey vulture) meat on them. fried chicken was under cooked and tasteless. just plain bad! never ever again!

ribs n' fries!. this place is a baltimore staple. hands down. if you ever heard someone say "ribs n' fries" they are talking about this place.

it's quirky and has a dark, moody, 80s baltimore feel to it. i actually used to love the feel of the place before smoking was banned inside restaurants. it was like a scene out of a movie.

the staff is typically older and endearing hons. i've never had anything but great service.

the food speaks for itself, despite coming in plastic wire baskets and wax paper. theribsare the best i've ever had, and the crabcakes are too shabby either. it can be pricey, but worth every nickel and dime.

go to andy nelson's instead. i see that a lot of people like this place which makes me wonder if i should give it another try. our experience was pretty deplorable. coming back late from out of town, we stopped for take out and ordered - what else?ribsand fries. theribswere ok-to-good. the fries were gray. gray! i've never met a fry i didn't like until i saw these ghastly creations. how do you even make a fry gray??

needless to say we ate no fries and were quite disappointed. in any case, andy nelson's isbbq right up the road. and what a joint that place is ... definitelt needs to be highlighted on diner's, driveins and dives. it certainly looks like a dive when you walk in. but it's all about the food. best pulled pork, ribsand bbq in the area. i know people from work who live in places like emittsville and they know about this place!

if you needribsor other bbq related food item, definitely go to andy nelson's .. right up york rd north just before valley view farm and a couple miles before schawan.

it was alright. theribswere super moist and fell off the bone, literally. but the sauce was not as good as i was expecting. the grilled chicken was not that great. i would go again if i did not have to pay as much as i did.
