cork 'n cleaver restaurant

our favorite special occasion restaurant. this is by far our favorite "special occasion" restaurant! we have never had a bad meal at this restaurant in the last 5 years and eat there at least 3 times a year. the reason we don't continue to go more than that is only because of the cost. generally, entrees cost around $30, and some of the appetizers are as much as $12. our favorite appetizer is the beef wellington, which is to die for. the make it yourself gourmet salad bar is amazing and drinks are great. the menu is on an actual cleaver and only one is given to each table so it can be cumbersome if you have more than two people, but mostly we order the specials. if you haven't tried it and have a special occasion coming up, i suggest you try it, but just make sure to make a reservation way ahead of time. they can be booked up to 3 weeks in advance on the weekend nights!!! that says something in itself!

one of my favorites. the atmosphere is wonderful. it is nice for a romantic date or dinner with good friends. the food is good (go for the tuna) and the salad bar is the best in town. for a a nice lunch during the week you cannot beat the soup and salad bar.

there is no better salad bar in fort wayne. that alone does not make cork an excellent restaurant though. the great service, entrees, and atmosphere do.

although the people i spoke with enjoyed this place, i did not enjoy it that much. the crab cakes were mediocre and the filet was just ok-lacking flavor.

not sure what the big deal is. i am a life long resident of fort wayne but have traveled all over the world and while i would agree that while the cork has good food and top notch service all for a reasonable price the same thing can be found at several other restaurants in the area as well. they strive to get to know their regular customers which keeps bringing you back time after time and i must say that this can be very helpful especially when trying to secure a difficult reservation.

good but i don't see all the hype. i like cork'n cleaver but i've had better steak. i'm not originally from fort wayne so i think i was a little let down after hearing all of the hype about how wonderful it was. i do think its a good value though.

nice, decor needs help. this is a great place to eat with high quality food. i really hated the decor, but the food made up for it. the crab cakes were ok, but the prime rib was very good. service was great and the salad bar is easily the best in fort wayne. the house merlot was also perfect for our meal.

urbanspoon says this place is expensive but it's not! i'm a low budget guy but i love cork n cleaver because i can get an outstanding meal including a filet, potato, side, and their amazing salad bar all for 20 bucks! i would recommend this place for anyone looking for outstanding food and great service on any budget!

popped my cork. i never heard of this place, but the wife and i got a $100 gift certificate from a budy so we went. we did not relize it was a reservation only, but they were gracious enough to get us in after a short wait. atleast it seemed that way. we went to the bar area to tip some back and wait it out. the bar area was very relaxing and had a nice setting. hey, us irish know our bars. we ordered our meal, which we both got steaks and damn i'm glade i did. it was unbelievable. their asparagus side dish was also top notch. the setting was dark and romantic (my bloodline doesn't allow that line to often) and and the only sobbering moment came when the bill arrived. ouch!

we used to live within walking distance of this place,and i can tell you that they by far have the best steaks in fort wayne, and their salad bar is the stuff of legends. everything we or our guests have ever ordered here was great, and the service as always was top notch. btw, there are many entrée items avalible for under $25 for the value conscience including the small filet so don't hesitate to try them out. rmg

cork'n cleaver a+. really liked this place, atmosphere was great and it was packed. we ate at the bar and the service was outstanding. had the filet and mashed potatoes with horseradish and caramalized onions! very very good. the salad bar was good too. overall great place.

best salad bar in town. plays second to no body! my favorite dish is the hawaian chicken.
