cork 'n cleaver restaurant

still great, even lunch. recently had first lunch here, normally have been just dinners. was amazed how crowded it was - yet party of three we were able to get seated fairly quickly. had salad bar (of course!), beef medallion wellingtons for appetizer, and prime rib sandwich - all excellent.servicevia the waitress was very good, whereas still wondering if the other lady really needed to take our bread away at one point? hostess was engaging, place still one of my favourites. love it.

ohhhh yea.... what is not to like?

the salad bar - cold metal plates, ready to be filled with a multitude of fixings, from lettuce and spinach, bacon bits and cheese, to raisins and so forth...

the meal - everything, yes everything is excellent. steaks, seafood, and so on...

favorite appetizer is the beef medallion wellingtons...

theservice- knowledgeable, friendly, and lovely ladies...

the only negative is that the neighboring voices from the other tables do get quite loud at times. maybe some soft decor in few key places could help diminish the sounds? find yourself having to talk even louder over the din, which of course adds to others doing the same.

nevertheless, this is the place that i take guests. and most part, need to make a reservation some time ahead. but, its worth it.

there is a reason this place has been open for 35 plus years. superb food andserviceevery time, plus the best salad bar i have ever experienced in my wide travels.

had a 7:00 reservation in the lounge. no tables available when we arrived. we waited for a table to open up 15 20 min. we had the mushroom cap appetizer, just mushrooms with cheese. nothing special. my wife had a ny strip i had 10oz prime rib. with firecracker shrimp and lobster. the shrimp were mushy, never had a mushy shrimp before and the flavor was not good. the steaks were just ok.
plus 3 total drinks from the bar. bill came to $110 and change. terrible value for the money.servicewas good. salad bar is just a salad bar i hear people talk how great it is i just don't see it.

my family and i have been coming here for years ever since i was a kid. i've always enjoyed my dining experience.serviceis friendly and attentive. the salad bar is phenomenal. i always get a steak and i've never been disappointed. for dessert, you cant go wrong with the mud pie. delicious! great place to visit for a fancy night out.

good place. food was very good,servicewas outstanding. i hate salad bar, just make me a salad please. that said, the salad bar was clean and fresh. i was seated in the lounge. i highly recommend it. no children allowed in the lounge area. prime rib was good, my wife's tuna was prepared as she liked. twice baked potatoes were mediocre, i'll try a different side next time. a little pricey for the caliber of food, but the perfectservicemade up for it.

good. the steak was juicy. the ribeye lacked flavor but was tender. theservicewas great. the salad bar and the new shredded beef egg rolls were greate.

most overrated place in town. i don't really understand the draw of this place. it's always busy and there's always a wait, but the food sucks. i ordered crab cakes the last time i was there, and they were clearly using frozen crab cakes. i know fort wayne is not on a coast, but this restaurant touts itself as being a little more upscale, so they should bring in fresh fish products. the salad bar is decent but not as good as others have mentioned, and theserviceis average at best. definitely not worth the money. the bread is good, though! i will give them that!

dork n cleaver. food was great and servers andserviceoverall was excellent. manager on duty (07 august) needs to get some basic charm school completed. not one good word to customers and servers and comments made to patrons was short and direct. not even sure if please and thank you are in his vocabulary. due to his rudeness i give an overall rating of 2 stars.

best in town!. the cork , in my opinion, is the best restuarant in town. the food is consistent and theserviceis always exemplary. the salad bar is top notch. it's hard to impress someone with a salad bar but cork manages to do so. i highly recommend the ahi tuna or the chilean sea bass. it is pricey, but worth it for special occasions.

an institution. the cork 'n cleaver is the go-to place in fort wayne for prom couples, business lunches, and special occasions. the food is good but predictable. and sometimes it is very nice to know what to expect and not be disappointed! of course, the salad bar is wonderful and at the peak of lunch time expect to wait in line for a while at the salad bar. the menu is limited but good quality ingredients and theserviceis always good. you must have reservations for weekend dinner!

once again, everything was perfect. we both went with steaks. hers was the filet and mine was the rib eye. they were both cooked to order and were excellent. we both went with the baked potato. the sea salt on the skin is nice for those of us that eat the skins. we both had the salad bar. it was well stocked as usual.

it is a great place to eat. super food, excellent service. i ask for either suni or karen. i think they are two of the very best servers anywhere. the salad bar is excellent. there is someone close by ensuring that the items are fresh and plentiful. i think they have the best steaks in town. great food and great service. they are well worth the money spent.

classic. best steak and prime rib in town, bestservicein town. this is the restaurant all other are compared to.

i can see why people in fort wayne flock to cork 'n cleaver. theservicewas very good, the food was good, definitely above average. i've had better steaks at other places, but the steak i had at cork 'n cleaver was tasty enough.

can't get a good steak here.... i love cork's salad, but you cannot get a good steak here. we have tried the last two times, ordering different cuts and both times they were bland and tasteless. their menu is and specials are the same time and after time. there is no creativity, it's like a common chain restaurant with high prices.serviceused to be great, but last time it was slow and inattentive .

i've eaten there about a dozen times - both lunch and dinner. never had a bad meal and theserviceis always great. best salad bar in the area.
