one of the few places where you can get a pizza without cheese for those who have a problem with lactose. also tasty are the bycatch baccala and the mussels. go at 5pm and you won't have to wait for a table.

a wonderful lunch. the pea/mint salad sang of spring. the bacon, egg & potato pizza was a revelation, largely on the strength of the potatoes, go figure. the pasta dish was a disappointment, dry and incohesive.

be prepared- you will want to go back

saturday night at coltivare was crowded but truly worth our wait! i recommend ordering several different items and sharing with your table as you will want to taste everything...we had the focaccia with burrata - so so tasty! the spaghetti with black pepper was delicious as was the agnolotti with mushrooms. the tomato basil pizza was amazing! we were surprised by the fact the food was simple and light even though it sounds so heavy...our next trip to houston will include a trip to coltivare!!

this is one of my favorite places to go when visiting houston. the atmosphere is bustling, the garden is simply beautiful and the pasta is amazing. if you go here, order the spaghetti, black pepper and parmesan. it is a simple dish that will absolutely have you wondering how anything can taste so good. it is a busy place, so reservations and long waits are the norm

the most thoughtful, divine, and elevated cuisine in all of houston. from their garden goods, to their requisite pizza pies & pasta, and always succulent land and seafoods. all is perfectly paired with flavors and accompaniments that heighten the natural essence of what 'great' food.

good food, but the service at the patio was very poor.
we had ordered a bottle of we'll know of wine from well known bodegas spain but they bring another poor quality brand we did not want to make a big deal about it in front of our new friends.so the wine was left on the patio. poor administration.

they have an outdoor garden which was gorgeous we had the chili chicken wings greasy but delicious. arancini were larger than others but the pesto was great to pair with. we also had a pepperoni pizza and then again the paella was good not the best but very good their spirit drinks were very well-crafted

love the food here, hate the wait as it's usually a substantial amount of time (1-2 hrs). it's a bit of a pain that they don't take reservations, but if you can manage to go on a tuesday evening right at 5pm then you might be able to get right in. want to visit it on a friday or saturday evening? prepare to wait at least 2 hours. the back garden is really pretty and a nice ambiance when you're enjoying the delicious food outside. the roasted cauliflower is amazing - a must when you go!

coltivare is owned by to the same people as the revival market, that amazing place where i found the best cappuccino in houston and it's located also in the heights area. from the minute my husband and i arrived, we loved its casual and not pretentious feeling. but since they don't accept reservations, be prepared for a very, very long wait for your table and preferably go in small groups, i'd recommend no more than four to get it faster.

the good news is that the wait can result very pleasant thanks to the fact that you can enjoy your favorite drink at the bar or at the terrace. the bar is fully stocked and there’s even a sommelier that can talk to you about the vast variety of italian wines they have and even suggest the perfect pairing for your food.

once seated at the table and with our menus in hand, we ordered the "revival" pepperoni pizza and the only word i have to describe it, is -perfect- there's nothing else to say, one of the best i've eaten. we also tried their whole wood-roasted fish and it was also amazing. in their menu, they also have several salads, pastas and some luscious deserts.

coltivare is pretty much my favorite place in town. the only thing that sucks is that they don't take reservations and it is always packed. i recommend getting there early! and keep in mind they're closed on tuesdays. make sure to order the cauliflower and save room for dessert! food here is seasonal, fresh, and seriously delicious. make sure to check out the garden and patio too!

great food and choice of wine and beer. such a pity a few of the staff are untrustworthy. watch your personal items, they may just disappear.

i liked this place a lot. i'd skip the gnocchi though next time. the smoked meat platter was amazing!

the staff here are amazing. the chef is a legend and you have to try the pizzas, the dough they make is sensational.
they grow their own veg out back as well!

...when i went recently with my boyfriend jon and our friends heather and dan, we tried a dish that was a total game-changer. jon and i split their spaghetti with black pepper, parmesan, and olive oil, and i'm telling you it was an earth-shattering experience. i couldn't not write about it.
