amazing coffee - best coffee in sydney or australia! when you park and get out your greeted with amazing smell of roasting beans. ordered my usual and made perfectly. we watched the baristas serve a queue if people making each coffee like it was the only one they'd make that day.. amazing attention to perfection...

wow, i never realized that coffee could taste like this. sweet, smooth and well rounded. nothing fancy about this place, just great coffee and people with black tshirts absolutely committed to the pursuit of coffee excellence

coffee alchemy is purely about the coffee, nothing else but high quality. although busy, this place keeps its cool. it's relaxed vibe and intense aroma is filled throughout the place. no need to over compensate with food etc. 100% this place only serves up the best coffee in sydney

this isn't a traditional cafe, it is a coffee den, and these guys are serious about their coffee. it is bold and robust. have a coffee there, to go or better still, grab some freshly roasted beans to take home. the "hairy chest" is gracing our home espresso machine and has provided some much needed punch on many a blurry eyed morning.

this place is very small and probably only seats up to 15 people inside their little shop but i guess they don't need much space because they don't serve food. just coffee. i ordered their iced coffee and it came in a cute double walled cup. it was nice, refreshing and sweet, not bitter at all. they also have a take away station next door but it wasn't opened when i went. they do sell the coffee beans that they use to make their own coffee and my friend decided to try their "hairy chest" coffee beans- staff were happy to help and recommend which was great! they have quite a variety of beans and a nice set up and description of each kind. i'm not much of a coffee drinker but i enjoyed this place a lot.

2/4 - next stop on our foodie adventure was "coffee alchemy" coffee is their clear specialty and for good reason. it's great!

would have given 5 stars but there was very little space that was utilized and on a foodie adventure you really like to sit down and savour the experience so we felt quite rushed and congested in the shop.

we went to try the cold drip. (obsessed) and it had a strong flavour which i prefer.

the cafe smelt divineeeeeeee! the smell of fresh brewed coffee. nothing like it.

the style of the cafe was almost pop up. didn't have much going for it but it worked and the feature was definitely that coffee machine.

e the other day as we heard it was one of the best around. sadly very disappointing. coffee was really weak despite asking for strong coffee.

i travel to find good coffees. i have never found a place where i always come back to. this place has the best coffee in sydney. the crema is awesome and it has great flavour. the staff here is super friendly. you will normally find other coffee nerds here hanging out to enjoy good coffee.

this is great coffee. so it is really just a place to drink coffee, but the coffee is amazing. but more importantly this is where you can buy the coffee to take.

the coffee is so good that while you are sitting there sipping you'll be either asking yourself 1) who do you propose to coffee (if i could)? or 2) is it wrong to name my first born alchemy?

it is seriously that good.

***mandatory response to cee who left a negative review of coffee alchemy on 13 august 2014* um ... are you joking? the alchemy staff are not only the most friendly and helpful cafe staff i have ever encountered, they are almost exclusively asian. the business is owned and run by two phillipino women! please don't go around throwing accusations of racism at people or businesses. you, sir, are ridiculous. alchemy rocks.

overrated. i came from eastern suburbs to try out their coffee based on numerous favorable internet reviews.

omg service was slow. for a coffee bar that does not have a kitchen, there are no excuses. they have a 4-head machine, but only one barista making coffee? isn't that all they are selling - coffee?

yes, their coffee (strong) was nice and smooth, with minimal acidity and bitterness - but personally i was looking for the "kick" that wasn't not there.

if you like smooth mellow coffee and you live in the area, i won't stop you. but will i drive to marrickville again? no, i will go to newtown instead.

high priests of coffee. i approach warily now.
i do enjoy their brew but am sensitive to mockery.
first time i was there 2 people asked what i wanted at the same time
when i selected 1 to answer it was a bit of a joke, as i has selected the wrong person guffaw!
a joke between the boys they would have their fun.
i was not their mate and frankly put off by their covenish superiority.
that said they do produce the best coffee this side of enmore.

really good coffee! please try :). this place is a hidden gem, and a must to try for coffee lovers and enthusiasts. their coffee is smooth that it's almost like drinking water and there's no after bitter taste. their coffee is one size only and a good price as well of $3.50. the shop is small and cozy, with long benches (which i think they got from a church) and small tables with magazines, and is pack practically every morning. they've also got a take away section outside. the staff are always friendly and the owner, hazel, always makes time to chat. don't expect any food from this place as they solely concentrate on coffee.
