the best food i have eaten .. took my mum to cobblers tavern for her birthday. there were 4 of us and we went for lunch. the meal was visually stunning and omg tasty. we had a share plate between us for entree. 2 of us had the chicken kiev, 1 had the lamb shanks and 1 had the pork belly. the meals were all spot on, and the accompanying veg and sauces were out of the ordinary (never had samphire before). then 3 of us had dessert (what a treat) and coffee. it worked out as $48.75 per head, which was so worth it.
definitely fine dining and somewhere we will be returning again and again. it was just superb. thestaffwere friendly and attentive.

i am absolutely shocked with the treatment we received last night!

my partner and i were having our first night out in over 4 months since finding out we’re expecting another child. we we’re having a relaxed night with a couple of friends until some girls put their drinks on our table. when we asked them to please move them and go to one of the many empty tables they turned around and said no they can do what they like because they work here! previous to this they were at the table next to us filming or taking photos and had a go at us when we called them out on it. they eventually walked away after some arguing and then a few minutes later one comes back, starts crying and carrying on (obviously had way too much to drink) and refused to leave us alone. the manager then came out and told us to leave! hisstaffwere clearly drunk (i understand that it was their night off) and their behaviour would have caused them to be removed from any other pub/bar but he kicked the pregnant lady and her friends out instead!

we will definitely never be back after that experience and i hope he does deal with those girls like he said he would, but they were still there when we were walking out.

very hard to fault this place! the food is full of flavour, artistically presented, with truly friendly service from attentive, young, attractive staff.
when we arrived, thestaffwere flat out serving meals etc, but 2 differentstaffmembers acknowledged us and said that someone would be with us as soon as possible. sure enough, we were soon greeted and escorted to our table. our drinks (a virgin mojito, lemon, lime and bitters, and a squires cider) were all really good, and the mojito especially was fresh and delicious.
fantastic entrees of pulled pork spring rolls and salt and ash squid. the pork belly, chicken kiev and scotch fillet were all sensational, beautifully presented and very tasty! we even managed to squeeze in a dessert of ice cream, chocolate sauce and sponge fingers, with m&m shards of chocolate!! $190 for three of us, including two large ciders. pretty reasonable and there were enough yummy sounding choices on the menu that we're already planning a return trip to try them out.

went to cobblers tavern last night for a friends birthday dinner. the atmosphere was great, thestaffwere very friendly and the food was all beautifully presented. i was awkwardly staring at other people's food as i got up to go to the bar, it all looked so good i wanted to try everything! i ended up choosing the gnocchi but unfortunately it was not the texture i was hoping for... it was too soft... a bit too close to mashed potato balls.. i would still return to try other meals as everyone else said theirs was delicious.

beautiful meal . had entree , main and dessert . all lovely. waitstafffantastic and attentive . just wish they were wearing name badges so i can let them know what a great job they done !!

amazing service & supurb food!!!. a few of us dined here of monday (australia day) we didn't have a booking but thestaffwere more than willing to oblige. service was outstanding, even when we recieved the bill it had a personalised message(thank you aaron & shelley.) the food was superb we opted for the wild boar, fish of the day, pork belly & cobblers kiev. we deffinately will be returning.

unbelievably bad service and terrible food. attended on a sunday evening;
asked for chilli (flakes) on the $25 pizza, which they have added before but were too busy this time....
the pizza ? - terrible couldn't describe it, a meatlovers at dominoes would have been lovely compared to it...
old dried leftovers and scraps from the week, thrown on a terrible base with some cheap bbq sauce over the top. i asked everybody to try it before i spoke to thestaffto make sure it wasn't just me, all three of us spat it out - there was chunks of lamb on it that tasted old maybe off - bad enough to make you sick.
i took it to the staff, the manager made me feel like i was complaining for nothing, "i like the pizza's here" he said "but your not happy with it so what do you want?"
i hate complaining, so i said if he just gave us a bar card we will still spend the money here.
"just come and see me when you want a drink" he said and took the pizza away.

then when i asked for the drinks he wasn't going to give me more than a $10 glass of wine..."it was your pizza wasn't it? - i don't even have to give you a free drink"

at this stage i got quite upset and challenged the manager about the value of the pizza, he ended up giving me another small glass of beer (valued $16.00 altogether) and said "sorry about all that" - - just ridiculous after the attitude displayed.

i asked other patrons about their food, people had many complaints but put up with it...i can only put cobblers success to lack of competition but seriously, my three bad similar experiences at cobblers ensure i'm just not going back again next time.

living local i used to frequent cobblers weekly.
after being told down the managers nose rudely "you cant leave a dog tied up outside, i am not happy with that"
i could understand if it was said nicely.
i won't go here again.
that female manager is often rude and food is overpriced and flavourless anyway.

sunday sesh 12/1/13. great .... sunday sesh 12/1/13.
great place, at the time we went it was full of many many, over tattood, muscly loud young fellahs which somewhat spoiled the atmosphere, but still had a great time.
live music was awesome and the guy was lovely too.
good beers on tap, great service. pleasant place.
little bit down on the ambience side of things and the pizza we had was pretty average.
but looking forward to trying it again next time :)

excellent customer service!!. i dont ever review restaurants, but wanted to make an exception because my husband and i have dined at cobblers a few times in the last month, and we've been lucky enough each time to be served by the same waitress (allana) the food is always delicious and well presented and the atmosphere is always superb! (although sometimes when there is live music on it can get a little loud if you have kiddies.) if you like a more personal approach from waitstaffthen go to cobblers and ask for allana - you'll have a great time.

wow - what a perfect lunch !. as soon as we saw the menu one of our friends commented - "this menu really excites me!" and she was so right, from the moment we saw the dishes coming past our table we had difficulty choosing from the interesting menu. we all had 3 courses and everyone was absolutely thrilled with their selections. cobblers ticks every box with their varied menu, excellent food served bystaffwho really take pride in their job. don't waste time and money travelling to the city, you won't get a better meal anywhere!

sensational. was not expecting such a high standard meal. every meal was presented very well and thestaffattentive. started with garlic bread, 8 huge slices with evoo and balsamic. mains- gnocchi with mushrooms, very tasty. scotch steak with red wine jus was cooked to perfection and could be cut easily with a butter knife. espresso brûlée was served with a chocolate brownie and ice cream, sensational. apple and rhubarb crumble was served with strawberry sorbet and a gorgeous vanilla bean custard. will definitely be going back. not the typical pub meal i was expecting and the prices are reasonable too.

two hungry aussies. hero to zero! we enjoyed a visit to the reopened cobblers tavern in january and were pleasantly surprised. so a revisit was planned for last sunday and oh-boy what a disappointment! the locals have taken over the bar and they really bring the place down. with no separation between the restaurant and the bar the atmosphere is appalling. loud drunken youths playing with an oversized jenga set which clattered to the floor routinely throughout the evening (bad idea owners!) my steak was tough and questionable in origin. the waitress confirmed that it was actually a fillet steak but i remain dubious. my wife enjoyed the chicken pasta dish so it was not a complete wash out. a couple of slips from the waitstaffdidn't add to the experience and then to be ignored by a young man standing at the counter waiting to pay our bill sealed the deal. we will not be back!

newly reopened! wow!. hubby and i went to the newly reopened cobblers for lunch this week - and wow we were blown away! thestaffare friendly and helpful; the tab area is huge and well set out; and the food is delicious! we ordered the salt and pepper squid (to die for) and the prawn and chorizo pizza. both came out quickly and were delicious! my only suggestion (because face it - it is an amazing pub) would be to make the pizza bases a little bit more crispy!

we look forward to cobblers being our new local!
