if you’d love to try out tons ofbeerfrom different breweries across the country, then coalhouse is another great place to be this january. gerard has arranged for eight different flight nights where you can samplebeerfrom a different brewery each night.

great food, terrible service. coalhouse's pizza,beerand all around atmosphere are excellent. i've only been in the restaurant itself once, and it took forever to get anything done. i chalk that one up to it being a very busy night, and was willing to overlook it considering the pizza, wings and ribs were all really good.

that said, i've tried to take delivery a number of times, only to be told that delivery service isn't available several times. if they cannot offer delivery reliably, don't offer it all and make it a pick up service only. both times we've actually taken delivery, it took forever...which seems to mirror the service we received in the restaurant. great food, wonderfulbeerselections, hobbled by so-so service or rather, no service...it's now a theme.

all together, i really appreciate the quality of the food but it's moving down my list as the first place that comes to mind.

home away from home. my friends and i have been coming to coal house since it's first few weeks.. gerard immediately introduced himself and started asking us what we thought.. i've heard lots of owners ask this, and gm's but we had a half hour talk about good beer. i love dogfish, and mentioned this to him and a month later he's got 90 minute on draft.. rare is a understatement. between his ability to adapt listen and not over engineer this place really is a home away from home. if you like an interactive crowd see chris run his trivia night every wednesday, if not come the rest of the week. food = great,beerselection = amazing. if you ever have an issue with service, just ask! they are very accommodating and human, if they make a mistake, they fix it without a quibble... middlenut

i love this place.

there was football on the tv, coldbeeron tap, a fifty-cent wing special, paintings of blues/rock legends lining the walls, and dozens of strange looking cigar-box guitars hanging above the bar.

the best pizza in fairfield county. i stumbled into this place on afternoon when they first opened during the lunch hour. it was quite, but the owner was there and very friendly. since then, we've gone back with friends and family again and again. we think this is the best place for casual dining. the pizza crust (white/wheat) is thin and all salads come on optional pesto pizza crust. there is also a hugebeerlist if you're into that. we pizza toured restaurants in the area (and in nyc) and cannot find anything compared to this!

best in town .... been to coalhouse a few times with my friends and family and i have to say that there is no place like this in stamford or beyond. the staff is super friendly, the pizza rivals pepes easily, and the wings are the best i have ever tasted. i get to hear dave mathews and joe bonomasa, springsteen and u2, drink an amazing selection ofbeer-- easily the best in stamford by far -- and get treated well. my kids make pizzas at the counter! the owner is a great guy, always there, always available, and it is easy to see that he enjoys it all. i recommend this place without hesitation.

i'll never go back agian. it felt like being in the twighlight zone. this was my second time there at coalhouse pizza. and i cant believe that both times was a nightmare. the pizza( if thats what you call it) was very thin and burnt all around the crust. i dont think the owner of that establishment knows what he or she is doing. to top it all off, the service was as sloppy and unorganized. i ordered abeer3 times, and when i asked my waitress the 4th time she told me she was busy. i will never go back agian. it should be called slophouse pizza
