very nice meal. my daughter was home visiting my wife & i for the holidays and we decided to try cleopatra on this cold wintry evening. our server was niki, who took excellent care of us and made us feel very comfortable. niki took her time in answering all of our (many) questions before we placed our order.

we loved the babaganoush appetizer - flavorful and a perfect complement to the homemade pita bread. our daughter, who is vegan, ordered the falafel entree and said it was very flavorful and fresh. my wife and i shared a sampler, which included an assortment of tasty grilled meats and came with rice and grilled vegetables. unfortunately, we were too full to order dessert (we understand the desserts are fabulous!)

as the restaurant does not serve alcohol but has a liquor license, i ran out to get a bottle of wine. there was no uncorking fee, which was a nice surprise.

the owner and manager introduced themselves to us, which made us feel at home. we will definitely return to cleopatra.

another fabulous meal!. my partner and i just returned from another spectacular meal at cleopatra's tonight. we are big fans and eat there often. tonight chef saad prepared a delicious samak singari for us which is a baked white fish with onion, tomato, cilantro, garlic and celery. the flavors were incredible together and the fish was cooked to perfection. it was a huge whole fish on a big platter accompanied by thickly sliced lenghthwise pieces of potato which had been dusted with some cumin and olive oil and baked with a crispy exterior and soft wonderful interior. there were also lots of lemon and orange slices on the platter to accompany the dish. it was just really delicious. we also had a fried eggplant appetizer which was equally wonderful, one of the best i have had. i can't wait to return for more seafood delights. please treat yourself to this wonderful food prepared with heart and love

great food!!!. we have dined at cleopatras restaurant on several occasions since they opened at the new year. the service early on definitely presented some challenges but that has improved greatly and the new chef saad, from alexandria, is a very talented, creative chef who creates his dishes with care and attention to quality. the food is exceptionally good and i would highly encourage anyone who enjoys middle eastern food to please give this restaurant a try. you will really like the food there!

a tasty alternative. i've dined at cleopatra's twice and both times, the service and food were wonderful. i've never been to egypt so i can't say that the food is authentic. it's just nice to eat something that is prepared a little different. the atmosphere is unique. this is one of those local places that you should take your out-of -town guests to.

i'm busy, but where are we getting lunch?. i was tired of eating the same thing all the time so i wanted to try something new, but i also wanted to find somewhere to eat quick. accomplishing both of those conditions is often hard to come by when looking for a place to eat; and thus my search began to find something new, and i found cleopatra's. luckily, the food was great and served quick!

the best part about a meal for me is dessert. i love sweets. i was served baklava. i have tasted many baklava dishes, but none as sweet, flaky, and tasty as cleopatra's. it's not as spiced, meaning that there were no cloves, but the flaky buttery pastry combined with the sweet honey was enough to win me over.

great restaurant experience. we dined tonight at cleopatra's in greensboro, nc. my husband had a dish i can't pronounce with sliced lamb and beef which he said was really good. i had a shish kabob with filet mignon and vegetables and mine was which was delicious. they bring a basket of arabic bread with a tinini and olive oil dipping sauce and we loved it too. for dessert we had the traditional bakalava which was homemade and wonderful. we will definitely be going back again.

new favorite restaurant. i have visited cleopatra's several times and always leave happy and satisfied. kris has always been my server and he is very knowledgeable and personable. i'm beginning to feel a bit like norm from "cheers" haha! the food is delicious and fresh. i truly can't say that i've been disappointed with anything i've tried. the pita sandwiches are huge and yummy, and the tour of egypt (not listed on the menu, but trust me, order it!) is such a delicious way to get a real feel for the flavors and textures this cuisine offers. the grilled veggies are one of my favorite dishes here. i'm not one to order fries in restaurants but i tried my daughter's and had to order some myself! likewise, i'm not a big fan of mango, but the mango/strawberry smoothie came with my livingsocial deal and was fantastic. the baklava and basbousa are the best in greensboro (though i've never had basbousa anywhere else, it's my favorite dessert there; thanks, kris, for recommending it! ). it's warm coconut heaven that isn't much to look at, but tastes divine! i hope cleopatra's does extremely well and never closes.

unique, delicious food!. we tried the appetizer sampler with 3 different items, and i think we're all fans of fewl (hummus-like dip made of fava beans) now. we liked it even better than the hummus, which was also very tasty.

i had the samok saneye, which is a fish filet with tomato sauce for my entree. it was delicious and too huge to finish! i looked forward to eating it as a leftover the next day.

perhaps the best part of the meal was the dessert. we tried several things that i regrettably can't remember the names of, but they were all fabulous! they were a pleasant, relatively light end to a delicious meal - contrasted to the heavy desserts that are typical at restaurants. if you're in the area and want a snack, definitely stop in for a coffee and one (or more!) of their desserts!
