city view tavern

used to be a favorite. unfortunately, the service has gone bad. also know that there is limited selecton on drinks (no olives, no tequila, few liquor selections). if you want a beer and a decent view of i-471, this is theplacefor you.

the bestplacethat nobody knows. a couple of weeks ago my friend and his fiance took me out to city view tavern. they had been raving about thisplaceto me for the last year. it was well worth the wait. their hamburger is by far the best in town. a good size patty of beef, tomato, onion and lettuce w/ or w/o cheese. dining at city view tavern is worth the effort it takes to find it.

last week it was snowing and getting pretty crappy outside but my handsome hubby had been home all day and wanted to get out. so off we went with no destination in mind - but then i remembered one of the "c" restaurants that didn't win... city view tavern in mt. adams. the snow was definitely coming down - it's a small littleplacebut it was pretty much empty this night. yeah - it was us and 2 guys at the bar. the view is amazing - but at night - through a window - doesn't make for a good picture. but needless to say - if you haven't seen it - you need to. lots of memorabilia around theplaceas well - go reds! most importantly the burger...we got two big ted burgers which came with a bag of chips. no fries here. the buns are from giminetti bakery and were really great - so much better than a grocery store hamburger bun! they were big but still soft...one of the best buns i've had. the burgers were loaded up with brown mustard, onion, mayonnaise, lettuce, catsup, tomato*, and pickle.

absolutely empty, sat at the bar, friendly bartender, ask about the burgers, recommendation was the "big ted deluxe" he got busy making the burger, i scoped out the place, not to many tables, a pool room and great view of the city,
burger came out hot! good solid $4 burger, typical 6 oz burger with some of the usual trimmings.
solid taste, good flat top crispness.

would recommend a trip, hope you find some parking!

i almost hate to do a review on thisplacebecause i feel like not a lot of people know about it and it is never crowded for lunch even on a beautiful day like today. but i figured since only about 2 or 3 people read my blog, it won't matter too much. cit

cincinnati classic #4. go for a draft or spirit - stay for the view. better yet go simply for one of the best indoor views of downtown and the river.

hanging off the steep slopes of mt. adams, cvt beckons of this neighborhoods once blue collar days. it is unpretentious and what awaits after crossing wavy floorboards is unexpected, a spectacular view from the porch that literally smacks you in the face.

if the view isn't enough (as this is a food review site), you will happily find a variety of above average pub fare on the menu. after many a visit, i have always found the food and service to be enjoyable. did i mention thisplacehas a great view!?! enjoy!
