absolutely amazing!
went here for the express lunch $44 2 course
it was great value and great options.
i had the white bait omelette for entree and hapuka for the main i thoroughly enjoyed both dishes which were recommended by the waiter.
my friend got the goat curry and the lamb i tried both and both were also amazing.
we had to try the brownie for dessert that won metro dish of the year and it lived up to expectations.
the hapuka main would have to be the stand out dish for me.
i would have to say some of the best food i have ever had. thank you cibo! i will be back soon:)

this place is nestled away and feels secluded from foot traffic. upon arrival you are greeted by the best service you could receive. the waiters are very knowledgable about the dishes and are very helpful. you can see why they won the award this year for best service. to start we were given complimentary chips with mac n cheese dipping sauce. the mac n cheese sauce is to die for! by recommendation of the waiter i ordered the steak diane. i was told it's vacuum packed, poached for a few hours and then seared before served. because of this process the meat is succulent and even the fat is as enjoyable to eat as the meat. the diane sauce was lacking however with it sitting minimally on the plate and lacking that punch in flavour that i expect from a diane sauce. a real lack of worcester and dijon mustard flavour that could have complemented the meat better. the sides of pumpkin and beans you have to pay for separate to the meal. as delicious as the sides were, you do feel they should come with the meal. to finish i tried their specialty pavlova which was exactly what you expect. there just wasn't anything special to it. i overheard another customer suggest more passionfruit or kiwifruit...and i totally agree with her. i also tried the chocolate tartine. again it was rich in flavour and had multiple textures that helped cut through the richness of the chocolate. the nougat addition however was too chewy and was quickly ignored after the first bite. when you go to pay for your bill i always ask myself, was it worth the price i paid? my answer for cibo is....no. with all the talent and flair in its method, it's still bound in its lack of flavour and flair. this i think reflects its old money customers who would attend the restaurant regularly. cibo deserves its rating, though it just didn't live up to the hype i was expecting.

came here for my graduation lunch and couldn’t have been looked after any better!!! we had a beautiful table, the service was impeccable and the staff were so accommodating and really went the extra mile to make my day special! we did the 3 course express menu and the food was just top notch especially the whitebait omelette, the hapuka and the eton mess for dessert! they even wrote congratulations on my dessert plate which was nice! definitely will be back and couldn’t recommend more highly to anyone!

had a fabulous meal here last night! superb food, excellent and attentive service, and a great atmosphere. can't wait to go back!
i had a scallop special for an entree, which was light and delicious. my main was the duck dish, and it was so good! shared row signature brownie dessert, also perfect. wonderful food.

had a beautiful meal here a few weeks ago, delicious and wonderfully presented and the service very attentive. also, the wine list was extensive and had some of the best wines on offer. no wonder this place gets such good reviews...
would highly recommend.

outstanding and probably one of the best meals we have had anywhere. oyster where 10/10 - white bait fritters, scollops 11/10. kumura and salad amazing as sides and finished off with caramel pavlova which i should not have had but was so good
overall service was excellent, food magnificent and given we have great restaurants in melbourne i would rate cibu in top 3 i have eaten at for the last 5 years. great establish with outstanding food

service was great food was tasty this is a place in auckland that again is very good and unsung. definitely recommend. they change their menu regularly enough for it not to get boring unlike other "big name" restaurants

i came here with my friend for lunch who is celiac and after reading a write up in viva that the chef is also this i knew she was safe.... i've been waiting to come here and it didn't disappoint ... great start with free parking.... awesome service which was soo nice... the ceviche was ok, the slices were abit too big and some were quite thick not quite the right fish for me... the presentation of the beetroot dish was amazing ... and my hapuka was devine the flavours delicious... will definately be back for dinner!

partner and i went here for a celebration dinner and was really impressed with pretty much everything.

the prices are on the high end but very few places in this price range manage to balance high quality dishes and reasonable portion sizes, and cibo nailed both.

the staff were welcoming and attentive and we didn't have to wait too long for dishes. the restaurant is well set out, music and accoustics designed to let you have a conversation but feel a sense of privacy.

and then there is the food. every dish was exciting and delicious, and the sizes were a pleasant surprise.

will definitely come here again.

my boyfriend took me here for valentines day set menu. it was a surprise and i haven't been here before.
i must say the set menu was really good, the paired wine with the dishes was also very smooth. for fine dining, we ended up feeling very full after an entry, 3 dishes and dessert. that was a good surprise.

however, because it was valentines day and super busy, we had a table by the walking path of the waiters. the waiters were very hyper and loud last night, meaning it was difficult to have an intimate conversation with some one suddenly yelling out something. also they were so hyper and walked so briskly, they kept bumping into our table as we sat beside the walking path. maybe being valentines day, just being busy. would have preferred a quieter and more intimate environment for valentines day.

loved this place! delicious food, relaxing atmosphere, great service from the staff and clean surroundings. a perfect place for a romantic date or to meet up with friends and family. just a reminder though that you must dress up appropriately when visiting this place as this is quite on the high end, thus price reflects this.

this is a must try in the deeper parts of parnell! tucked away, this place offers great food, great service, and an overall great experience.

we recently ventured here and were blown away with the overall quality here. the inside is unique and comfortable. it also boasts a large outdoor seating area which is well suited to bigger groups, and the sound proofing is excellent as guests on the inside of the restaurant won't hear a thing of what is happening outside.

the service is excellent, all of the staff are super friendly and there is a certain flair to the way they all operate. they all know the menus really well and are able to assist with most questions you may have. the food comes out really fast, which is also a plus! overall the service here is pretty much faultless.

cibo has a fantastic menu that caters for most. all of the dishes sound delicious and the most difficult decision you will make is having to only settle on one thing. i got the whitebait and lamb with scallops. these were all beautifully cooked and were simply delicious. my partner got the co2 battered fish which was declared as some the best they had had. the real feature here however, is the extensive pavlova list jumping out from the dessert menu. there is a plethora of pavlovas to try and they aren't small! if you come you definitely have to try one (maybe two). the prices are also very reasonable considering the portion sizes.

overall this is a must try in parnell, it can't be recommended enough. definitely get there soon.

i have been hearing good things from cibo and always want to go for a try. luckily we have a company event at cibo today and i am able to try a 2-course meal which both the entree and the main was amazing. the balipork was so good, very good balancing of fat and meat.
my favourite was the lamb. it was cooked perfectly. absolutely juicy and soft, with the sauce that have a bit of sweetness to brighten the dish up.
both the dishes in very good portion. i will definitely be back again and so looking forward to try their dessert next time when i dine in. it was a very good experience.

i came to cibo for my 19th birthday dinner with my friends. at first, there was some communication error such as when they called to confirm my reservation, they said 6:30 pm as opposed to 6:00 pm but that was quickly fixed. i arrived around 6:00 pm and they were still setting up the table. the service from the manager was great! he was super friendly and made sure our night was smooth.

we all got different dishes and it was good because we weren't required to order from a set menu. what i like about cibo is the entrees can be made into a main, making the menu more extensive and unique. the menu makes it seem like they throw random ingredients into a combination you've never heard or thought of but it is super delicious. i got the lamb/sticky rib/mint/black garlic/pistachio dish, most of my friends got the wagyu beef, while a few got the fish and chips, hapuka and bali duck. we also got two orders of fries and kumara with duck fat on the side to share, between the 11 of us.

my lamb was good. my favourite was the rib since it was super juicy and flavourful from the fat and i'd be super satisfied if i just got the ribs. the lamb meat itself was alright, it was a bit underseasoned in my opinion (lacked a bit of salt, which they do give you on the table) but matched well with the different sauces on the plate. it was cooked medium rare as well. what i thought was unique was the oats on the plate, that added a nice crunch to the meat and went surprisingly well with it! i really like cibo's menu since it's quite adventurous. the fries were also a favourite from most of the people on the table, as it was cooked well (vadouvan mayo went super well with the fries) and it was also seasoned well. the duck fat kumara was pretty average in my opinion, still tasty, however. if you do not like your wagyu beef to be cooked medium rare/rare, you must inform them as they do not ask how you'd like your beef to be cooked!

there are no cake fees if you're bringing your own cake, they even put some cream on the side for you as well! totally appreciated that!

i'd love to come back to cibo to try their other dishes as i believe their combinations are super unique and worth a shot.
