chow down. the chow truck is the best restaurant with wheels in this state. may be one of the best lunch restaurants in town (with or without wheels). you can't go wrong with their beef, pork or chicken. i think they sprinkle their asian root chips with crack.... and i'm a junkie.

spicy beef with cilantro chile-pesto and panko fried tofu with cilantro-chile pesto...placed into your choice of either a taco or on a slider... topped with asian slaw and crunchy sliced wonton. the slaw serves a useful purpose in its vinegary bite and fresh crunch...

am i missing something?. tried the spicy beef taco with cilantro-chile pesto. took a couple of bites and tossed it. the "pesto" was okay, if a bit watery, but the beef was overcooked to the point it was dry, gritty, and nasty. just truly awful.

an off day? or am i missing something?

this is one of my favorite salt lake food trucks! if we know chow truck will be nearby we'll make a stop. and now we're very happy they have a permanent location in farmington! every item we've tried we've loved, with the exception of one- the special wasabi, pickle, and tomato hot dog. the hot dog and bun were great but there was too much wasabi for me. i think it was just personal taste rather than technical fault. otherwise i love their food, particularly the pineapple pork tacos. to some the prices might seem steep but i find them very fair especially when compared to other trucks that are much harder to track down and don't serve half as great of food. the service is always fantastic and they keep their social media very up to date so they're easy to find. such a great local place that i'm happy to support!

second time eating from the chow truck. i will drive for their unique flavor combinations! love them! tried the rabbit/rattlesnake sausage & it was amazing! the only thing that's average is the root chips, otherwise everything is amazing!!

my only complaint was that i can't walk through the doors of a brick and mortar establishment to eat here whenever i crave it. don't be intimidated by the calamari, it is definitely worth a try. i had it on a salad complete with lightly fried thin lemon slices that explode in a perfectly calculated spark of citrus. if you're lucky enough to happen across this truck, flag it down!

tofu i can live with. went to the weekly food truck rally thursday lunch at south end of gallivan center. having had good luck previously with their asian tacos i decided to try the salad..panko coated tofu with a spicy dressings on a nice mix of greens and sorta slaw. $5 for a well filled 4x6 container. a good value for interesting food.

the ingredients were tasty, the food, even though it was given in little disposable plates, was presented with a bit of flair. the tacos, sliders, and salad were beautifully presented. if we were inside a restaurant and had these items served on a plate no doubt we would be charged a lot more. the menu is limited, which i believe speaks to the chow truck being able to successfully focus their efforts on a very niche selection.

i have many hopes for the future. balanced budgets, a sane health care system, peace in the world, all over the world. one hope trumps them all right now, though. and that hope is that suan chow decides to make the current shrimp bahn mi slider with garlic ginger aioli & pickled radish special a permanent part of the menu. it would put to rest forever what my go-to at chow truck should be. one of these and an order of calamari and i’d be set in perpetuity. the panko-encrusted shrimp is cooked perfectly. it’s tender, moist, and rather generous in portion so that it doesn’t get lost in the slider bun and all the rest of the sandwich fillings. a shrimp slider of some sort has graced the specials menu many times in the past. this is, by far, the best of the lot, and mostly because of some beautifully balanced pickled radishes and carrots. the sandwich also hits another common bahn mi note with some julienne cucumber. subbing in fo

who would have thought that the short yellow bus would be the woodland towers savior this winter?  recently due to tough economical times, we had two of our favorite local lunch places go out of business, school lunch, and nypd pizza.

the taco has pork belly, ginger-marinated vegetables, jalapeno medallions, radishes, and other deliciousness.

high prices but good food. i live at the south end of the valley, which meant it took them years to come south enough for me to eat here. but i finally had the pleasure last weekend at the conservation garden park annual plant sale. owner was a bit snotty in telling me they were closed, while people were still being helped in front of us in line, then changing her mind saying only the grill was closed. grill was open for all of those in front of us. i was disappointed in the service. they also ran out of root chips.
their chicken tacos are just amazing. i only wish the prices weren't so high. its restaurant prices street side. i prefer a restaurant.
