chow truck

i heard quite a bit about it and checked out the menu, it was a done deal. the misses and i hit up the truck for dinner. the highs are high and the lows are only medium. highs: lemongrass chicken taco, beef taco & shrimp slider. lows: hoisin chicken bbq slider, pork taco, calamari & root chips.

arguably one of the coolest eating establishments to hit salt lake city in years (or ever) check out this haute asian cuisine servery on wheels!

we drove 30 miles to see what all of the fuss was about. the combination of flavors in the pineapple ginger pork and spicy beef pesto tacos was astonishing. it is amazing that something this delicious comes out of a truck.

the best food on four wheels--ever!. salt lake city has a new culinary gem, and it's on wheels! the chowtruck is a new mobile kitchen that parks in various venues throughout salt lake city. you can find out where they are by following their twitter page, http://www.twitter.com.... the truck serves mainly california-style food and asian fusion (man, i hate using that word).

judging by who is cooking the food, roseanne ruiz, i knew the food would be good, but it exceeded my lofty expectations. the calamari is dusted with chili powder and fried with lemon slices, then served with a wonderful aioli. the best calamari i've had (and it's served from a truck!).

i also tried the lemongrass coconut chicken, which was good, but not knock-your-socks-off good. but the spicy beef taco was outstanding. perfectly flavored, with just the right amount of spice.

i can't wait to go back another time and try out the rest of the menu!

salt lake city: find chowtruck, wherever it is, and support it! we need more unique businesses like this!
