chive sea bar & lounge

this is one of my new favorite restaurants in savannah! great 20s loungeatmospherewith curtain separated modern style lounge booths. food was fantastic! first, you have to start with the chive muscles...seriously you will regret it if you miss this! it is the source of that savory curry like smell in the restaurant (because everyone orders them). they are the best steamed muscles i have had. try to get extra toast to dip in the heavenly broth! we ordered the lobster tail risotto and the chilean sea bass for our entrees. both were excellent...but that melt in your mouth chilean sea bass will bring me back again again...omg. most entrees come in a small and large portion. not only does the small dish help with the pocket book but it really is the right amount of food without gorgeing yourself. located in the heart of downtown and highly recommended!

food was good, but felt it wasn't anything mind blowing.  portion amount was fine for one person and service was attentive.  theatmosphereis dark, lighting is difficult for older adults...nothing inviting about the place.  i think they should use something other than black in their decor....i would eat there again, but maybe for lunch.  price is a little upscale but not bad.  i have a food allergy and they did accommodate and i enjoyed my food very much.  highly recommend the sea bass or salmon.

my husband and i popped in on a monday night without reservations. we didn't know what to expect, but thought theatmospherewas cool. we ordered cocktails that were both good, and a spring roll appetizer. the app was a good portion to share probably with 3 people. good but not exceptional, typical. i then ordered the seabass and the hubby got the tuna. both were excellent and cooked to perfection. nice size portions as well. would love to come back!!

we were in savannah for the weekend and stopped at chive for dinner simply because it looked cool. soo happy we did! our server was wonderful, knowledgable and easygoing. theatmosphereis charming and unique. the food was delicate and bold at the same time. the lobster with edamame risotto and flounder with crab were delicious and the steamed clams wereincredible. definitely going to stop in again to explore the menu and enjoy the cocktails (the basil mint is delightful!).
