new and good. went to chives. this is the former home of the saigon restaurant. the restaurant has been taken over by sean and ele tran who also own tangerine, the king and i and ele fine fusion. chives seems to be another jewel in their crown. i had the lobster with risotto. on their web site they have a picture of the lobster risotto. the picture shows a whole lobster but in reality you only get a tail. and for the maine diehards it is a spiny lobster. people in maine don’t consider spinies real lobsters. it comes in either small or large. i went for the large which turned out not to be a larger lobster but it is two tails instead of one. the risotto was made with edamame in it, the risotto was very worthy and the lobster was cooked on the grill which is the way i like it. good good good. my lovely wife and i had the lobster and shrimp spring roll. it came to the table piping hot and delicious. my wife also had the ocean’s 5. gang phet talay, noodles, clams, mussels, shrimp, scallops, crab. she loved it and the broth was outstanding. there was a lot of food in the dish but the five mussels and three clams left you wanting more. we also has a white wine and it was served chilled on ice. the only drawback was the tables at the booths. they inherited these tables from the old restaurant and the tables have these huge bases. the base of the table keeps you from ever getting a suitable position or posture at the table.
