disappointed. noisy, crowded and cramped. no intimate conversations when the couple next to you may as we'll be at the same table. we had prawn popcorn which was really deep fried prawns in batter. nogreatflavour. then we had the shared lamb served with a few lousy bit of carrots and pumpkin and a drizzle of yoghurt. there was no recommendation that we should order something else to accompany it. the lamb was definitely slow cooked but so dry we had to drink lots of water to wash it down. not good value for $75. we skipped dessert rather than be further disappointed. it was our 27th wedding anniversary so not a good celebration.

great evening. had agreatdinner at chiswick last night. lovely way to celebrate a birthday in a warm environment with agreatvibe. staff were fabulous and the food was excellent and beautifully presented. tuna sashimi was lovely, mushroom risotto a dream and salmon beautifully prepared. couldn't resist the hand cut chips- it was my birthday!! when maggie beer is sitting behind you, you know you've chosen agreatrestaurant. glad we went as i had heard mixed reports. will definitely return!

amazing!!. we absolutely loved chiswick!! went there tuesday night for a work celebration dinner with 5 people and had such a fun night! the food was gorgeous and soooo tasty, we started with scallops, crab sliders, prawn popcorn, grilled cuttlefish and chicken liver pate (literally the best dish on the menu!), all the dishes were perfect for sharing and my tastebuds were very very pleased! then we moved onto the slow roasted lamb, parmesan gnocchi and a side veg and salad... was scrumptious and perfectly cooked! the boys literally wanted to lick the plate! desserts were just as good, but there wasn't too much room left so we couldn't finish :p overall it is a very trendy, lively restaurant, greatfor sharing good wholesome food with good company! definitely will be going back! thanks chiswick!

this evening's double date took us to the leafy suburb of woollahra to check out matt moran and peter sullivan's newest sydney establishment - chiswick. it truly is a popular new addition as we had a 3 week wait to secure a 6pm booking on a wednesday night! but thankfully there wasgreatwine ahead of us in this french-provinical garden style restaurant. with wall length windows looking straight out into the manicured gardens

food: food can be very salty. taste isgreatand fresh especially the vegetable as they use the seasonal veggies they plant in-house.
mains are salty but the appetiser is great

service: good

value: fair, with the price could go elsewhere that serve better food

amazing restaurant! we were lucky enough to visit when bombay sapphire were doing a pop-up gin bar on the front lawn with complimentary canapes so that sweetened the deal! the gin selection of drinks in-restaurant isgreatthough - i'd recommend the "gin mare". my husband had the pork and i had the "barra-in-a-bag" - so good. love the vibes of the place - classy but casual.

i visited this restaurant with my wife for our wedding anniversary after family friends have been hassling us to dine here.

i called them and thanked them for hassling us as this restaurant was absolutely spot on.

the atmosphere was great, the food was delicious and the service was good.

we know of matt moran but had never tasted his cooking and now we know why he is one of - if not the favorite aussie chefs in australia.

our entree was ricotta dumplings and this was a explosion in the pallet. it was full of flavour. absolutely delicious.

we also ordered a steak for main cooked medium rare and this was actually cooked medium rare + a slamon which was again cooked spot on perfect.

all the meals we had were delicious and full flavor, can't wait to go back again soon.

now for the cons:

1- some of the seating were very close to each other to the point were no one was comfortable to talk as the diners next to them would be able to listen. my wife and i were fortunate enough to be able to speak a second language so we can have a private conversation however the restaurant would need to review it's seating arrangements. it is better to lose a few tables for in turn a comfortable and relaxing dining experience that would make diners come back again and again.

2- the only reason i didn't give this restaurant a 5 star was because of the menu that contained a little printout inside that was supporting a 'event' that occurred in australia. i think this restaurant should stay out of politics and concentrate on continuing deliverygreatfood. remember - diners come from different backgrounds and believes and it is notgreatto advertise something that may insult them.

3- because some of the tables were bunched up, waiters and waitresses found it hard to collect plates and even see who was waiting to be served. after giving us our dessert menu, we waited approx 10 to 15 min to have our order taken. though i must admit, it was worth the wait...

aside from the above minor cons, it was agreatafternoon lunch. thank you and i look forward to dining here again.

definitely one of my absolute favourites. food is always consistentlygreatand they have an awesome alcohol menu too! the collective menu is abundant and you will not be leaving hungry. the lamb is the ultimate. don't even need the knife, it literally falls apart with the fork. for dessert it's the banana parfait that won me over. so creamy and the right amount of sweetness.

a definite must. the warm lighting and open dining room really delivers agreatexperience.

the food was absolutely beautiful. i enjoyed all dishes, every element. the flavours were all well thought out.

our recommendations would be the oysters with celery granita, grilled prawns, steak and pear tart. give it a go, you won't regret it!

good service, good food, good wine and all at agreatprice. the menu had somegreatvegan choices as well. the tiger prawn starter was so super fresh and full of flavour, and the orichiette main with chicken was well spiced. the sorbet though with basil was the best dish around.
