best thai in central arkansas. for years i've lamented the lack of a good thai restaurant in little rock. if i wanted a thai fix, i'd have to go to jacksonville...not anymore! not only is chang thai closer to lr, it's better than the place i used to go in jacksonville!
three members of our party had the buffet, and two of us ordered off themenu(but we ordered a lot so we could share with the others and have leftovers to take home). my not-so-fond-of-thai-food husband said the buffet was actually pretty good. i took a look at it, and it actually did feature thai food (as opposed to some places that serve thai off the menu, but chinese on the buffet).
off the menu, we ordered the pla sam rod, which is a whole fried talapia, covered in a sweet and spicy sauce. it was crispy, with a flaky, moist interior, and the sauce was just the right combination of spicy and sweet. we also ordered the egg wrap pad thai with prawns, and it was your standard (but tasty!) pad thai presented in an omelet shaped into a bowl - beautiful presentation! next was the green curry chicken, and it was some of the best i've ever had. succulent pieces of white meat chicken with vegetables in coconut milk. finally, there was the tom-kha, which is a coconut milk soup with lime. we got it with tofu. i only got a spoon full of it, but what i had was great!
for every dish, they ask you how spicy you want it on a scale of 1-10. our group happened to really like spicy food, so we ordered almost everything 5 or above. the waitress asked if we were really sure, and we told her to bring on the spice! but if spice bothers you, go for a lower number.
service was good, but they did run out of tea while we were there. how do you manage that?
the only thing that would make me happier is if they opened a little rock location!
