made a booking and also had a voucher, the initial welcome wasnicehowever that's when the service started to go downhill, from the very start we felt rushed to order with my partner not even having time to look at the menu properly. when asking the waitress questions she seemed very unsure of the answers, seemed like she had little menu knowledge. at one point we asked if we could smoke at our table which she said yes to only to be minutes later being told by another employee that it was non smoking till 9pm. along with that i asked for no onions with my meal and queried as to whether i could have something else as substitute, she wasn't able to give me an answer. our starters were quitenicebut not meal checked once. our mains were very very average my partner had lamb which was not hot and tough to eat. my steak was cooked well but again quite cold with the vegetables being hotter, and when asked if i was given the right sauce the waitress was unable to tell me. our desserts were average. she then proceeded to take food from the table that we were still nibbling on. overall, average food with less than average service.

my visit to the chancery bistro was excellent, the drinks and the sheesha (hookah) was great. i found that the atmosphere and the vibeniceand relaxing. i found that the staff was good especially during my time there the staff member priscillah she was extremely helpful and attentive to not only my needs but to the customers around me, providing great customer service before we even thought we needed, my wife was especially happy when priscillah knew whether she needed an extra top off with her wine glass to keep her happy. if this is the example of what excellent service chancery provides i will be sure to spread he word and will definitely be back there again soon.

we went with a grab one voucher for the 3 course dinner.

the food was well presented and cooked well. it’s always appreciated when a steak is ordered rare and that is what’s presented.

staff were verynicebut a little inexperienced. service was a little clumsy but overall an enjoyable evening.

went in one night for a round of beer after dinner. as one of our group was craving crème brulee we ordered one. the beer was great, service was great, but the crème brulee was not a creme brulee. the whole thing was served colde with a scoop of strawberry ice cream on top (i found this weird). it was almost like hard custard in the middle. when we told the waiter that we didn’t like the crème brulee, he was veryniceto offer us a new one and had put in a request to the chef to not include an icecream on top for this one. we got the new one and it was warm on the top and cold at the bottom which is great but still i couldn’t believe how hard the inside part was.

food was less than average. male manager was rude and unprofessional to customer similar to as already mentioned in other reviews for this restaurant. this man appear to be unsuitable for his job, given his poor work ethic and very little talent in customer facing environment. the owner of this restaurant looks like aniceguy, but maybe a bit too nice. the owner may need to consider sacking the male manager and look for someone more suitable. a 1-star experience is fair for this experience.

after a day of shopping in the city, i choose to give this place a try since i had a voucher for a discount. i was a little weary at first after seeing the reviews on zomato but i decided to give it a try anyways.

service: 6/10
the waitress was prettyniceand the service was pretty good. the food came out quite quickly and they weren't bothered by us using a voucher.

food: 2/10
we ordered the fettuccine carbonara and the classic pizza. the pizza was pretty average, the tomatoes tasted fresh and the cheese was stringy. the pizza crust was tough and hard to chew. the pasta was super bland and tasted watery. the portions were huge so we could barely scoff it down.

ambiance: 7/10
the restaurant is in a beautiful plaza where it’s quiet. the restaurant itself has an outdoor and indoor area. the tables and setup isniceand the bar outside would be great at night. the sunlight is a little blinding when it shines through the roof

have been to this place about 4 times now, out of 4 times - 3 times the food was terrible. never ever i will be back here again.

1. paella risotto - uneatable, fish smelt so fishy my friend could smell it from where she was sitting, it tasted absolutely wrong, squid barely looked, had a bit of one - didn't touch the other, prawns on the very very edge of under cooked. i had about half of the rice and avoided all the seafood and i am sitting in the office now with upset stomach. avoid at all cost. any word to chef about it - complete denial of any wrong doing.

2. on another occasion my friend ordered lamb shank, which look fairlynicebut had a weird pink sauce on it and as i wasn't having it, i did not think much of it - until my friend said - i think this is ice cream. and i thought no way, this could be ice cream on lamb shank, until i tried it - and it was! melted strawberry ice cream on lamb shank!!!!!! brought it up to waiter's attention, who brought it up to chef - the response we have got, no of course it's not ice cream it is beetroot yogurt. ah yeah, right. and sorry, was this "beetroot yogurt" on the list of ingredients for lamb shank?! i had to ask the waiter about 3 times until he admitted it was not, and it was a mistake!!! seriously what the actual f**k this is? who lets a plate out with spilled ice cream over the top and tries to cover this bs up by saying it's beetroot yogurt? sorry by my taste buds are not in my @ss to not be able to distinguish strawberry from beetroot.

3. this was my second visit here, ordered an avocado mash toast with egg with something like beetroot hummus if i remember correctly, it tasted really odd to me but i was hungry and short on time, so i finished it. literally half an hour later - the worst upset stomach ever!

if this is not enough for you to never even look their way - then i don't know what is. go ahead - get poisoned.

just came back from having lunch alone at the cafe, ordered schnapper burger with fries. i sat outside as its aniceday..here's what spoilt my lunch there. dirty table, lunch brought out with no salt n pepper or sauces for the fries, no cutlery...had to go find my own...couldn't find anyone to order aoli or tomato sauce. so just ate and left....wanted dessert but no one came over with a menu or to ask if my meal was nice. there are better places to have lunch.

came here with a friend for lunch. the service was okay as it was a quiet day. i ordered the old school lamb burger. it took them a while to serve the food, but when it came the lamb was rather warm than hot. the presentation was good which looked attractive. however, the onion ring had too much mixture and coating which didn't end up having anicetexture. the sauce was okay, a little sour, and the lettuce was just too little. overall the flavour wasn't what i would expect from a decent looking restaurant. staff was friendly though.
